Super Fun Birthday Card

My friend Jayne 's birthday is the same day as my second sons, January 20th. I made this really fun card for her birthday. The cardstock I used is from my stash of goodies. The base is Bazzil Basics, the patterned paper is Sassafras, the circle image is stamped on CTMH White Daisy cardstock and the scalloped layer is piece of Bazzil.

The cupcake is stamped using Cupcake Sprinkles (D1336) stamp set with Heavenly Blue (Z2126) and Vineyard Berry (Z2157) inks.

The 'For my friend' is from the January Stamp of the month, True Friends. That is stamped in Twilight (Z2160) ink. The 'Celebrate' is also from Cupcake Sprinkles and is stamped in Twilight ink. The inside of the card has a sentiment that says 'There is no one like you.' That sentiment is from One of a Kind (D1410) and I also stamped that in Twilight ink.

This is how the card looks from the top. So cool!  I have to give props to my up-line Teri who originally shared this card on her blog.  You can check it out here.

To make this card you need a 6"x12" piece of card stock.  Score your card stock at 2", 4", 8" and 10".  Cut from the first score line to the last score line once at 2" and again at 4" from the top.  Fold as shown above and decorate.  You can e-mail me if you need better directions.  This card was so super easy to make.  Very little effort for big impact.

3 LO's to Share

Lately I have not had the time or motivation to hang out in my scraproom. Always so much to do, putting Christmas decoration away, planning a few birthday celebration and just getting back in a groove after the school holiday.  Know what I mean?  However, last Friday I was able to carve out some quality time and I got to play.
The first layout is one I made using scraps of leftover paper I found in my stash - not CTMH - sorry :(
I stamped the Todd and Dog using our Posterboard Alpha (pg. 85 in the catalog, E1014). I love this Alpha set becuase of it's versatlity. I stamped the title with black ink, then stamped the 'woof' (also not CTMH) and finally inked the letters with Tulip ink.  I cut the letters out and ended up with a really cute title that matched the theme of the page.

The following two layouts are from the Felicity Paper pack that is only available until the end of January.  For more information on the Felicity Collection of paper you can go to my website at www.tambur.myctmh.com.

This layout is celebrating my mother and father's 43 anniversary. I basically followed the guide that came with the Felicity Collection. A very easy layout, but with stunning results. Oh, sorry about the shadow on the picture - oops!

This last layout is dedicated to my friends and our Ladies Day Out. I love having a day that we can all gather and do a little shopping. We had a lovely dinner. Shared a bottle of wine.  But the best part of the day was being able to visit and be with one another and share stories and laugh. This was such a great day.  We were able to go out before Christmas, which is hard to do at that crazy time of year. We walked around Old Town Alexandria in Northern VA.  One day I really should dedicate a page to the our hubbies who so willing watch our kiddos so we can spend an entire day and evening out.  I'll put that on my to do list.

This layout is also using the Felicity paper. To get my creative juices flowing I flipped through my Cherish book to find a layout that caught my eye. I ended up using Column Composition on pages 26-27. I used only the left side of the layout.

Now you go play! Have fun.

Virtual Swap

I participated in my very first Virtual Swap, well my first swap of any type, actually.  Are you familiar with swaps?  A swap is when you agree to create some item of what ever specifications that are set by the moderator.  Usually you create a specific number of the same item, then you mail it to the moderator.  The moderator then distributes your item to each of the other contributors.  At the end of the swap you get back a copy of your item and then a copy from each of the other participants artwork.

I have never done a swap.  It sounded overwhelming to me.

Now a virtual swap is a little different.  Instead of making multiple copies of your one piece of artwork, you make just one item.  You  then  scan or photograph your artwork and e-mail your submission to your moderator by a specified deadline.  Our moderator collects all of the participants artwork and then puts all of those files into a slide show.

The purpose of the virtual swap is to be able to share our artwork with each other and with you!  The art work in this virtual swap is featuring items from our new Spring 2010 Idea Book.  So very cool!  Love that we can share ideas and art and fun and excitement all over the web.  What an amazing world we live in.

To view the Virtual Swap just scroll down to the bottom of this page and there will be a slide show.  Listed to the right are the names of all the wonderful ladies that contributed to this swap.

This is the layout I contributed to the swap.  I used the new One of a Kind (D1410) stamp set and the Veranda Level 2 Paper Packet (X7119B).  I love this 2 page spread. I used some photos that I love from about 2 years ago.
