Good morning hope you are all happy & well. I've been a lazy bones this morning and had a HUGE lie in, I think I've slept better as it wasn't as hot last night as the last few days. My excuse anyway!

My Mums Craft Shop Sweet Pixie - Birthday Cake Lucy

Good Morning everyone,hope you are all enjoying this lovely sunshine. I had a wonderful day on Thursday with Hubby & Bradley ( our gorgeous little Grandson ) We took my Mother-in-law to Skegness for the day as the rest of the family were all there on holiday. We had a lovely time and boy was it hot.

Anyhoo! It's a free week over at My Mums Craft Shop so I decided to use a couple of my fave paper pads & a super cute C.C. Designs stamp.

I have my DT card for My Mums Craft Shop to show you.

Our theme this week is Summer Colours. Summer for me means spending lots of time out in the garden of course some of that time is spent gardening, so this pre-coloured topper was just perfect to put on my little gift bag.

I cut out the gift bag on my Cameo,

Sam's card

Good afternoon. Hope you are all ok.

I've been at the hospital this morning, I've been having pains for quite a while now, after I had  ultrasound a few weeks ago it turns out I have Adenomyosis, Fibroids and also a cyst on my spleen. I've had a CT scan today so hopefully will find out soon whats what. I did have to chuckle though as I was offered  pregnancy test before the CT. I explained to the lovely nurse that I had been sterilised 18 years ago so there was no need.

Anyhoo! here's a card I made for my gorgeous Daughter Sam's birthday last week. This cutie reminds me of her as she had quite a lot of stripey socks when she was younger. I'm sure she won't mind me telling you, she's 27 now. Eek! makes me feel old.

How I take my photos

Hi everyone, hope you are all ok.

Our lovely Barbara over at Little Miss Muffet recently asked if we could share our photography techniques. So I thought I would also do a lil' tut to explain mine.

Here goes......

Here is my set up. Very basic really, some A3 card stock and two craft lamps. I got mine from Hobbycraft, they have daylight bulbs in.

 

I have a Nikon Coolpix camera 16.1 megapixels.

I choose the macro setting - it looks like a tulip. I also turn off the flash.

I take the photo of my card. I then pop the SD card into my laptop and save the photo into the selected folder on my desktop.

I open the photo with Microsoft Office Picture Manager, this came on my laptop in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Open the folder with the photo of your card in. Right click on the photo, go to Open With then select Microsoft Picture Manager.

The photo will appear in Microsoft Picture Manager

I then click on Auto Correct (top centre). 

Then choose save (the save icon is top left, it looks like a little floppy disc) 

Then I select Crop (right centre) and drag the black crop corners inwards until I get the size I need. Select ok and then save using the save icon.

As shown below.

 

I then compress the pic so it takes up less room on my blog and it also loads up quicker.

Select Compress on the right hand side and I then choose Documents.

Select ok and then save.

I then add my watermark to my card in Paint.

Follow step 1 but this time select open with Paint.

Select rectangular selection & then transparent selection. 

Then draw a rectangle over the pic. You can see the dashed lines.

Then click on paste ( top left ) click on paste from and then select the watermark from whatever folder it is in.

It might be necessary to adjust the size and move where you want it to go.

My Mums Craft Shop DT inspiration - CAS

Good morning, hope you are all ok, it's raining here, so probably a day indoors for us today.

I have my My Mums Craft Shop inspiration project to show you.  This week our theme is CAS so I decided to make a tag.

I just love the Little Miss Muffet Chester stamps so I just had to use one.

I made the tag myself after I stamped and coloured this lil' fella, then made a bit larger mat to mount it on.
