Has anyone seen this movie yet? Just caught it on DVD.
First of all, does anyone know whether Julia Child (played by Meryl Streep) actually talk like that? Julia must be a tall lady too, noticed that she had to make more effort bending down or either that the tables/counters were unusually lower - hm, wonder if she got any backaches? *erm,no wonder - just found out she was 6.2 ft, read more here*
The movie is about food and blogging. Its not an oscar winning movie but if you like these two subjects, you'll probably enjoy it.
Doing a google search, I found a lot of comments surrounding this movie and also Julie Powell, who was formerly a blogger turned writer. Not going to bother to over-analyse both.

yes, i've watched this movie, recommend by my SIL after she read my blogs' cooking episodes. I'm gonna try beef bourguignon one fine day...
coffeesncookies, pls do let us know how you go. am sure it will not be as dramatic ;) I like how Meryl gets so thrilled and delighted with b-u-t-t-e-r!! "You are the butter to my bread, the breadth of my life".
i also learnt a new word 'bouquet garni'.. how cool is that ? gathering enough courage to embark on that project..
but i couldn't do the lobster thing though. can't even do crabs or chicken!! lame aren't i?
wanna do a JC beef bourguignon cook out this weekend and blog about it? 3-4hours of slow cooking in the oven....can imagine it would taste really good.
so, did you fo yr beef bourguignon ? Me, not yet lah... waiting for a 'free' weekend to slow cook the pot.
