Celebrate Everyday-Mid month reveal at Scrap Around the World

Good morning everyone! I am here today with my interpretation of this month's Mood Board at Scrap Around the World. When I saw the Mood Board I knew immediately that I wanted to scrap this photo. I don't know if you remember little Kiki (Kisses for Keaton) who battled with cancer, but I have been working on a series of albums for the family documenting their journey. This latest photo says so much!! Kiki is currently cancer free!!! This photo is the family's way of facing their new future without cancer with love and hope!
This is the wonderful Mood Board that I had to work with designed by the awesome Valia Katzaki from Greece.
Needless to say you can tell that I was inspired by the positive quote on the board as well as the pink and gold colors. Now for a few close-ups!
I used three different lines from Blue Fern papers for this layout. One from Vintage Christmas for my background page and some from Frolic and Montage for some fussy cut elements. Love Blue Fern!! I wanted to ensure that i included the words love and hope in this layout as they really are the premise for this photo. I used Tim Holtz rubs on for these two words. I used a Prima stencil (my new fav!) to add texture to the background. The chippie is also from Blue Fern Studios and I simply painted it with some gold inklingz from Shimmerz in Brass knuckles.
Hope. Again the key chippie is from Blue Fern studios. The gorgeous baby pink calla lilly is from Petaloo! Some bling fron ZVA creative. I have a ton of this stuff I really need to use!
The berry cluster and flower is from Prima's Menagerie line. The gold stars were in my stash for years so I finally dragged them out painted them gold then added some gloss and doused them with gold glitter. In real life this page really sparkles! The pink bling around the photo is also from Prima.
I did my background with clear Gesso then misted away using a variety of mists from ShimmerZ and Lindy's Stamp Gang for the blue. I also used some micro beads from Prima in blush for some more fun texture.
All the yummy goodies I used to add color to my page!

Remember this is our last month here at Scrap Around the World. It is a sad day indeed. I want to thank Helen Tilbury who built this awesome blog from the ground up for taking a chance with me and inviting me onto this amazing team of talented ladies!
You have taught me so much Helen and I can't thank-you enough! I wish you all the very best in your new endeavours! Know that you have affected the lives of so many scrappers! You are an icon!

We are giving away an unheard of 22 prizes this month so don't miss out! Get inspired and get working! I hope to see you all on the blog!!

All the best! :)

2014

I am finding it harder to keep up with scrapping my grandchildren as more arrive lol! I promised I would diligently keep albums with everything in order birthdays, Easter, Christmas etc... Yeah that didn't happen! So I am playing catch-up! This is my grandson Jaxon at Christmas time last year! I decided that it was overdue and there was a great sketch at My Creative Sketches so ta da! My layout called simply 2014.
And this is the fabulous sketch they have at My Creative Sketches this month.
I used the gorgeous papers from A Christmas Carol put out by Graphic 45. The colors in this line are stunning! Rather than do the two tags on the bottom I fussy cut the blooms out and draped them down instead. Some of my home made blooms seen here. I went back to basics for the most part with this layout.
Another flowers cluster but this time with both Prima & Petaloo blooms and one of mine of course. I used a chipboard tag and button from this collection here as well. You can see I did some background masking with molding paste and some gold glitter. It came out okay. I sparkled for the rest of the week but that's the casualties of scrapping!
Another close-up. I went around my flowers with some gold paint from Shimmerz. I also added a piece of torn music paper from one of my old piano books for variety.
Final photo! The title 2014. I love these alphas from American Crafts they shine so much better in real life! Another layout done for the kids! Off to do some design team work for More than Words!! Are you getting excited about the first challenge?????? I am! If you go to our facebook page you will see all the awesome goodness we are giving away this month just to become a follower!! So pop over!
You can find us HERE
This is just one of the prizes we are giving away!! I hope to see you there and on the blog January 1st for our first reveal!

All the best! :)

Dream Passionately

Just wanted to pop in today with a layout I did a little while ago. This is a photo of my granddaughter Isla Skye sitting on the edge of a dock. I love this photo. I can only imagine what she is thinking as she looks across the water.

I used the new Maja Design papers Enjoying Outdoors. That and alot of Dusty Attic! Here are a few close-ups.

I wanted a bit of texture on the buds so I colored some glass beads and added them on top.
I used Shimmerz TextureZ in Artie Choked (love how they names these colors lol) to mask a little pattern.
The blooms are from Petaloo.
That's it for today. Has to be a short post as I am off to work! Have a great one!
All the best! :)

Joyeux Noel Christmas Album

Good afternoon. I've been so busy trying to get things done for Christmas but everything is a challenge with my bad neck. I have fumble fingers as a result of the herniated discs in my neck (yes three of them!!) so doing anything scrap related has been difficult. I don't have the fine motor skills at the moment. But I decided to order two fantastic kits from Scrapbook Diaireis and will make them into Christmas gifts.
The first one is Joyeux Noel designed by the uber talendted Frank Garcia using his new Christmas line A Victorian Christmas from Prima!
And here is what the finished product looks like!
Absolutely gorgeous isn't it? I love when someone else does all the planning and I can just follow along!! Look at those stunning flowers! I love the binding on this album it looks like a real book!
Love those gorgeous metal embellishments!!
And a quick look at the pages!
Gorgeous chipboard also included in this kit! Or available in single units from Janene at Scrapbook Diaries!
Little pockets to hold photos or just a matted photo page!
3 by 4 journaling cards were also included in the kit.

A little waterfall of cards! Beautiful blooms!
Love that music paper!
The last page with an envelope to tuck other little notes or photos in. I loved making this album! I want to than Frank Garcia for designing such a beautiful book and Janene Meyerowitz from Scrapbook Diaries for having these lovely albums in her store!! I love Janene she'll do everything she can to get you anything you want!! My favourite store!
One last photo
Love the shaker on this album with all the sparkly sequins! When you move the book the sequins move around! Love the glitter on this book! I will be starting a new album tonight also from Frank! Stay tuned!
All the best and have a great one! :)
