Cherished Memories-OUAS Challenge

This is my entry for this month's challenge at OUAS.
My absolute all time favourite photo of two of my granddaughters Lilly and Emily. This photo was taken at Gull Lake Park. We did an impromptu photo shoot as the trees were in full bloom and I couldn't resist! I used Kaisercraft's Kaleidoscope Collection papers that came in this months Swirlydoos Kit. The colors in this kit are stunning!
This is the sketch for this month. The topic was "Anything Goes. . ."
I challenged myself and did some masking with moulding paste and some misting with six colors! This is large for me! lol My title speaks for itself I cherish every moment I get to spend with my girls as they live three hours away from me and I don't get to see them near enough!

A close-up of my flower cluster that spreads across the page. A mixture of blooms from Petaloo, Prima and of course a few homemade. I also used some drywall tape for added texture on the layout.
I love this gorgeous Prima resin that came with the kit. I didn't have the proper color so I painted some roses purple to tie in Emily's purple clothes in the picture and stuck them inside the Garden Sink.
A close-up of my journaling. You can see the stamping I did with my Prima stitch stamp.
The final shot shows a Dusty Attic chippie I used on the layout. I love this Leafy Scroll. I actually cut it and placed the stem piece along the dark ribbon I used as a sort of border. I painted the chippie with my faithful Tim Holtz markers.

Well that's it for this post. I am exhausted. I have recently returned to work and am trying to balance my gardening, spring cleaning and job with my scrapping. I love scrapping way to much not to do a little something everyday! I also read every night so often I don't fall asleep until quite late which I need to change with my now early mornings. Thanks for dropping by and have a great week! All the best! :)

My Princess-Marilyn Rivera tutorial

I saw this great tutorial over at My Creative Scrapbook's blog by the wonderful Marilyn Rivera and thought I'd give it a try. This woman can fold paper like no tomorrow! She also does some amazing work with masks and moulding paste. This was my attempt at her style. Although no where near the caliber of Marilyn's work I was happy with how it came out on my first try!
I used the LE kit from My Creative Scrapbook with the beautiful Prima Princess papers! love their kits!
I used everything from the kit except for the drywall tape. The flowers and buttons in this kit are sweet!
More flowers and bubbles! :)

My sweetpie Emily when she was little. She's only three now but here she's just a baby. Wow how time flies! Well I just wanted to share this. I love watching tutorials and learning new things. I am exhausted from 5 straight hours of gardening today. I am sunburnt and was eaten alive by blackflies. But I have a big property that requires alot of work so thought i'd get out there! Now I'm bagged but going to scrap for awhile. Have a great week! All the best! :)

my time

This is a layout I threw together in an afternoon for the SOE/SOD autobiography page layout contest! Whew that was a mouthful! I love the Avenues paper line from Bo Bunny it's one of my favs.
My title says it all! At 50 years old I am now an empty nester, have been for a few years now and I have learned to love it! I adore my children but it is so nice to live life by my schedule. I get to see my beautiful grandchildren when I want and when I've had enough I get to hand them back! Love this! I can stay up late and sleep in. No defined meal times wow I could go on for awhile. Bottom line I am enjoying the me time. Now it's time to start working on my bucket list. First off a trip across Canada on a Harley this summer! Looking forward to new adventures. :)
Pretty Prima flowers and resin. Love these colors!
The last shot showing some stenciling I did with moulding paste and the funky ribbon I had in one of my kits. Well the sun is out for the first time in nine days and my yard beckons me! I'm off to bask in the sunshine and develop calluses from raking :( Always a downside. All the best! :)

Scrap Around the World Epic Anniversary Event Celebration/ May Mood Board

This month at Scrap Around the World we are having a very special celebration event. It is our first Birthday! And on that note look at our awesome May Mood Board!
Please read the following rules carefully in order to be eligible for this month's prizes!

OVER $ 1 000 WORTH OF PRIZES TO BE WON THIS MONTH
BUT YOU NEED TO FOLLOW OUR SPECIAL

EPIC COMPETITION RULES

SO PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

This month things are going to work a little differently BECAUSE it's competition time!
Yes I know that EVERY month we host a challenge here but this month it is EPIC!!

We are looking for our 2014 EPIC WINNERS - ie the TOP TEN PLAYERS for our
first year (May 2013 - April 2014) SO we will be choosing 10 WINNERS as per usual
(plus ONE RANDOM WINNER as always!) BUT here is the difference...

VERY IMPORTANT!  PLEASE READ BEFORE ENTERING!!

1.  We have TEN HUGE prizes (each valued at approximately $100 US!!)
for TEN WINNERS!  We will not be grading your entries from 1 to 10 this month.
Rather, we have invited TEN GUEST JUDGES to each select one winner,
based on the entry that they find the most suitable, relevant & appealing.
They will be sending their selected winner's name to me, along with a few
sentences explaining what they really loved about their winning entry.

2.  9 out of 10 of our prizes will be awarded to PAST WOFFERS!
Woffers are Winners, Features & Finalists, in other words our
TOP TEN ENTRIES  from the last 12 months!!  This is so that
we are able to determine who are true TOP 10 PLAYERS
for our First Year are!! So this is like THE FINALS!!

3.  ONE prize will be open to a NEW winner - someone NEVER
featured on our Wall of Fame {WOF} in the past - so there is still
incentive for EVERYONE to enter as one prize is open to anyone
who wins on MERIT & one prize (of $50 value) is open to one
random winner.{as usual but this month even the random
prize is a big one - woot!!}

****************************************
4.  For your entry to be eligible you need to write
WOF or NEW after your name WHEN YOU LINK UP - ie:-

*****************************************

YOU NEED TO ADD "WOF" OR "NEW" AFTER
YOUR NAME ON THE LINKY THIS MONTH!!

(if you've been featured at SATW before & forget
to write WOF, or don't state WOF or NEW you will
automatically be put into the NEW category, for
which there is only one prize, as opposed to nine!

Instead of writing - Julia Roberts - USA
you should now write - Julia Roberts - USA - WOF
(if you have been a winner, feature or finalist before
& have therefore featured in our Wall of Fame in the past)

OR - if you have never been a winner, feature or finalist before,
you need to write - Julia Roberts - USA - NEW {for example!}

Got it?!  If you forget & cannot delete your entry then please
load it again.  Only entries with WOF or NEW after the name
& country will be eligible for any prizes - THANK YOU!!

And without further ado this is my layout done with this month's Mood board.
What better way to celebrate a Birthday than with a Birthday layout! This is my oldest grandchild Lilly celebrating her seventh birthday.
As you can see I stuck pretty close to the Mood Board for this one even trying to get my title close. I used my Silhouette and cut out these letters with the Joker man font.
I absolutely loved the balloons in this Mood Board so Again I used my trusty Silhouette and cut out some balloons in matching colors.
Used some Prima flowers and made some of my own rolled roses to balance the color.
Last close-up of flowers on the other side.
