Rebus Film Nr. 1 (1925, Paul Leni)

It's time to squeeze your mind a little bit. An "extra" shown in two parts at the movie theater, before and after a feature: part one gives the clues to six words in a crossword puzzle, part two gives the answers. In addition to the visual clues, which are clips of a party, an Asian country, a European city, table games, winter, and bullfighting, there are montages of street scenes and spinning objects. A simple cartoon character, Mr. Rebus, walks the audience through the clues, and title cards encourage the participation of the theatergoers.

Do you like old cars and especially Beetles? I adore them. Have a look at this old and strange commercial about them. Surrealism is here. Fantasy too. A painter who lives in a fantastic world sees colors of her palette transform to seven cars. And then every car tells us its story. A fairy tale that relaxes our souls and drives us through Beetle's imaginative roads. Excellent!

Olympics Monkey movie (2008)

Jamie Hewlett (designer of Gorillaz) and Damon Albarn join forces and present this marvelous animation about the Chinese Olympics in 2008. Excellent storyboard and music that based upon the traditional Chinese folklore 'Journey to the West'. Recommended as well.

Yellow - Neill Blomkamp (2006)

This short film was part of a project Adidas created for commercial purposes. Seven different colors gave birth to seven different ideas directed by seven directors. The 'Yellow' film describes the integration between a cyborg and modern society. Excellent effects and sharp direction from Blomkamp who later directed the incredible 'District 9'.
