Hooray!!!

It's finally Hari Raya as I had been waiting for this "memorable" day for quite some time. It means farewell to the period of hell and we shall meet again next year – which is another 365 days. Hahaha …

I had been working full shifts for weeks and not having any rest day for three weeks. But I doubt I could have my rest day next week and I am replacing another colleague to do opening and closing of the store. It's alright. I am gonna start my one week holiday in just a week time.

Itinerary is not planned yet as I don't have the time to do so. I don't even know who is attending the reunion gathering. Andrea and I planned to have our overnight reunion gathering to be done at Marriott as they are now doing room promotion in conjunction to Malaysian Independence Day. Never mind about that. I still have another one week to work on it.

I was browsing through the folders in my computer and realized that I had so many pictures taken while dining outside and yet never had the time to update my blog. I had been having the urge to update about my frustration at work in the past few weeks but decided not to in the end since this is a public blog. It is not appropriate to have an outburst of my working life when you don't even know who is reading your blog.

If I were to have an outburst of my personal or working life in here, this blog will no longer appear to be a public blog. I was thinking of making this a private blog. But I'll see how things go in the next few weeks. If I am hardworking enough to update, then I might reconsider making it public or else it's gonna end up being my personal shrink. Hahaha …

Anyways, I had finally gotten myself a new watch. Hahaha … The Casio which I wanted had been sold out so I was left with no choice to go for alternative. So, I bought another Swatch instead. Hahaha … I had been using Swatch for quite some time. The first Swatch I had was a gift from Sister for passing my GCE "O" Level examination. Hahaha … I was using an Oasis watch which I bought from UK. But it kept on giving me rashes as it wasn't made of stainless steel.

So, I got myself a second Swatch. It was white in color. The skin of the PVC strap started to peel eventually after some time. I have no idea why. I stopped using it when it started to get hideous. I got fed up for not having any watch with me when I was working as I don't usually bring my phone with me.

In the end, I bought the Swatch which I had been eyeing for quite some time. It costs me $150. It was quite heavy for a female watch but I like it anyway. xD

I think it's time for me to hit the sack now. Ciao …

Taurean Café, The Arch

Finally! It has been ages. Hahaha … Haven't been having the mood for blogging for the past two months. I had been pretty engrossed with downloading loads of drama series and watching them from day to night when I am not working. Hahaha … xD

I attended a seminar about eCosway with JiaJia yesterday night. I had no idea what had possessed me to go and listen to a talk about direct selling or whatsoever you may have called it. To be frank, the talk was pretty interesting. But I am sorry to say that I have no interest in such thing.

The talk started at seven thirty so JiaJia picked me up from work at ten minutes past seven. I did not have a proper dinner before the seminar so I bought a few buns from Yataro Bakery. The talk lasted for about two and a half hours. JiaJia brought me to Taurean Café, The Arch for late supper since I did not have any dinner before the talk.

The place was pretty crowded on the inside coz it was drizzling outside and nobody wants to get wet. Hahaha … We found a cozy corner and only knew that it was supposedly for couples when we are about to go. *sweat*

Anyways, we were being given a order note pad and a service remote control upon being seated. You were supposed to write down your order on the notepad given instead of the usual waitressing service provided. So, when JiaJia and I were done ordering, we pressed on the "Service" button on the remote control. No matter how many times we pressed on the button, no one ever come to us.

What's the point of giving your customer a service remote control when none of your staff even bother to attend to us no matter how many times we pressed on the button? Out of frustration, I brought the order notepad to the nearest waiter standing nearby to the main door. He looked slightly apologetic when I handed him the order notepad. And yea, you should be! What have you guys been doing when we had been pressing on the button?

So, these are the order notepad and the so-called "service" remote control whereby I don't see the point why they are using it.

Food wise, they were just slightly above average.

1. Mango Sorbet

JiaJia recommended me this. Doesn't taste bad at all but it was too icy.

2. Red Bean Pancake

The very first thing which came across my mind when I saw it was that the "pancake" which they are using must be those frozen Roti Prata from any supermarket in town. I was right indeed.

3. Curry Noodle

I would have to agree with JiaJia that this was nice. The gravy was thick enough and generous amount of chicken breasts. But the amount of wet noodles given was even smaller than the size of my fist. Hahaha …

Anyways, there were service charges for the meal. The service provided was not good enough and yet we still have to pay for service charges. *sweat*

And my last piece of work! Tadah!!! Hahahaha …. XD

Secret Recipe

God! I am gonna be having an awfully hectic working hours for the coming week. One of my superiors will be transferred to another branch with effect from tomorrow. And my other superior is currently on leave. This is total madness! *sigh*

Anyways, a few colleagues and I had lunch at Secret Recipe today. We usually have our lunches at the food court in The Mall. We are expecting a large crowd at the food court so we decided to dine outside food court. It's been a while since we went back to Secret Recipe.

Secret Recipe is currently doing His Majesty's birthday promotion. It is a super value deal. You can get any choice of cake you like at half price!!! But under the condition that you have to reserve before 12 July 2010 and the cake must be collected on 15 July 2010. So, hurry before the deal finishes.

Additionally, Secret Recipe is currently offering free Chicken Cornish Pie in conjunction to the football fever going around lately. You are entitled a free Chicken Cornish Pie for every two main course you ordered.

There wouldn't be much rating being given here as I did not try out any of my colleagues' food. Hahaha ….

1. Chicken Kebab

The kebab looked nice on the outside but Jasmine commented that the chicken cubes were slightly too dry and its nothing to shout about. Anyways, I like the food presentation.

2. Pan-Grilled Catch of The Day with Lobster Sauce

And the catch of the day is Dory! Poor Dory. I used to name one of my friends Dory as he tends to be very forgetful and has a very short term memory at times. Do you know why I called him Dory??? Why Dory, of all the names?

Whoever had watched Finding Nemo before would know the answer to that question. Hahaha … Dory is forgetful and has a very short term memory. He could remember some things at this minute and forgot all about it at the very next minute. Hahaha …

3. Black Peppered Sauce Chicken

One of my colleagues recommended this. It smelled quite nice. I might try this the next time I dine at Secret Recipe. *wink*

4. Grilled Chicken with Turmeric Sauce

This is what I had for lunch today. It took me a while to decide what I want to eat. I had the waiter substitute the side boiled vegetables for mashed potatoes and that was a stupid decision. Reason being, the mashed potatoes tasted extremely bland. But the turmeric sauce tasted not bad.

Rating: 7 out of 10

5. Chicken Cornish Pie

You could either choose to have spicy or original. We had both flavors since we are entitled two free Chicken Cornish Pies.

I think this is all for now. Too much of food pictures lately. I think I should blog something more to my life. But I doubt anyone of you would want to read since my life is dull and boring. And my life only revolves around work most of the time. *sweat*

Pines Restaurant

God! I am extremely stuffed right now. Feeling all bloated! Hahaha … JiaJia and I had a heavy dinner at Pines Restaurant this evening. I had been craving for Korean food for the past few weeks so I invited JiaJia for dinner tonight. It was my advance birthday celebration for her coming birthday next month. I am expecting that I wouldn't be celebrating with her this year. Hence, the early birthday dinner.

I asked her to choose in between Kimchi Restaurant and Pines Restaurant. She chose Pines Restaurant as the food is more authentic and the customer service is not bad either. I had been there one year ago when Sister came home last year. That was long long time ago. Hahaha … There weren't much customers when we arrived. Just us and another table of customers.

I think we had ordered too much. We managed to finish half of the food we ordered. Both JiaJia and I ordered for the same sushi – Brunei Roll. I thought it was quite nice when I tried it last year. But not that nice when I had it this evening. The sushi rice was a bit too hard, I think.

1. Brunei Roll

The fried rice crumbs coating the sushi were a bit too hard for my liking. I remembered that it wasn't that hard when I tried it one year ago.

Rating: 6 out of 10

2. KimChi Chigae (KimChi Stew)

Hmm … There's nothing much to comment about the dish but I would prefer if the chef sprinkled less salt on the stew. It was far too salty for my liking. But it was hot and spicy enough. =D

Rating: 7.5 out of 10

3. Dolsot Bibimbap

JiaJia ordered this. She said it was nice. The sauce was a bit sweet and doesn't taste spicy at all. I think the rice would have taste better if the sauce had been slightly spicy. Hahaha …

Rating: 8.5 out of 10

This is how Bibimbap looked like after being stirred together with Korean sweet paste and sesame oil. The more sesame oil you poured on your rice, the nicer it smells. But do make sure that you don't overuse the sesame oil or else your rice is gonna be all oily and sticky.

4. KimChi Pajeon (Kimchi Pancake)

This dish is actually not on the menu. I had specially requested for it since JiaJia is not supposed to consume any seafood. Additionally, I would prefer KimChi Pancake more than Seafood Pancake. I missed the Kimchi Pancake at Kintaro Restaurant in London Chinatown.

Rating: 9 out of 10

5. Complimentary Side Dish

The overall ratings for the entire dinner were just about 6.5 out of 10. The customer service had been good but I don't like the taste of the food. Far too salty for our likings. The cashier did ask us whether we are happy with our food. I told him that everything is fine apart the food being salty. Hahaha …

I saw this at the cashier counter. I had no idea what it is for. I am assuming that it is some kind of decoration stuff. Hahaha …

Madness!

I was extremely frustrated at work this evening. Everything was planned and arranged so perfectly until ....... *argh*

I am not expecting to do any closing or opening this week as two of my colleagues who were on leave for the last two weeks had returned and I had been acting as their replacement in doing closing and opening when they are not around. Hence, I am not expecting to do any closing or opening for the week.

Least did I expect that I am scheduled to do opening this Saturday. I couldn't do opening this Saturday as I will be busy in the morning doing preparation for giving out overtime pay to staffs in the afternoon. Secondly, I had a dinner to attend tomorrow night. So, I requested to swap duty with another colleague who is scheduled to do opening tomorrow morning and she agreed as it doesn't affect other things in any way.

In the end, another colleague told me to do opening on my rest day. *sweat* I had no idea how they came to know the idea that I am coming back to work on my rest day. On the surface, it doesn't seem like a major problem to anyone. Yes, I do agree. But normally, I am having morning shift on the day before my rest day. Eventually, it means that I have to work full shift. If I am not having any special occasion to attend to, I wouldn't mind. But of all day, why tomorrow?

In the end, I have to rearrange the entire duty roster again. Sometimes, arranging a duty roster could a pain in the ass. You have to plan something which is perfect and ensuring that no one will be commenting about your incapability of creating a perfect duty roster.

Seriously, take no notice of my laments. I am just purely in need of some space to blurt out my frustration and anger. Hahaha … This is my blog anyways. I could write whatever I want. xD

New Hairstyle & Shades!

It's been a while. Reason being I ran out of ideas on what to blog about. Hahaha …

Anyways, I have just rebonded my hair yesterday. Hahaha … So, I have half straight hair now. To be exact, just partial of my hair.

I took leave from work for the whole weekend. JiaJia told me that she will be going to a salon in Teck Guan Holdings on Saturday morning since she couldn't go down to Miri for the weekend.

Reason being, her boyfriend banned her from stepping into Miri again. Hahaha … I told her that she should have told her boyfriend that she is going to Miri with a geek like me. Hahaha … That was just a joke.

So, JiaJia picked me up early in the morning at 8AM. I would have been sleeping soundly on my bed at time like this on a normal working day. *sweat*

It took me about 3 hours to get everything done. I told my hairstylist that I only wanted half of my hair to be straightened and I don't want it to be extremely flat.

I am satisfied with the outcome of my new hair. And the straightened part looked and felt so sleek and soft! Hahaha … Part of me was so tempted to have my hair colored too! But given my current position in the company, I don't think I am allowed to have colored hair.

Both JiaJia and I hung out at The Mall while she waited for her boyfriend to go for lunch. I window shopped at GIORDANO while waiting for my colleague for lunch. Spotted a nice looking jacket. Hahaha … It costs about $39.90. I am gonna wait till sales season whereby I could get 25% off with my "Shopaholic VIP Card". Hahaha … xD

Anyways, I had also bought a pair of new sunglasses from Charles & Keith. It took me a long time before I could get a decent looking pair of sunglasses. The first thing which my Sister commented about my sunglasses was "Oh my … so big!!" *sweat*

I had finally found ways to install apps into my iPod Touch. Now I have games to play with when I am bored at work. Especially when I am bringing staff to the Immigration Department. I have installed Sudoku. And it bloody took me about 16 minutes to complete one set of beginner stage puzzle. *sob sob*

*sweat*

My Unpleasant Experience @ Easy Way

I was out shopping with JiaJia and Diddy at Manggis Mall last Tuesday. It was pouring heavily outside so the three of us decided to have supper at Easy Way nearby since I went out without having any dinner. Honestly speaking, that was the most unpleasant experience I ever had eating outside.

First, the waitresses seem so reluctant to serve us. I have no idea why. But I am aware that they have started doing some washing up. For Christ sake, it's not even near closing hour yet. They might be expecting an early shut down since it's pouring heavily outside and not expecting a big crowd.

There were another two customers coming in after us. So, the waitress did come to us for our orders. Before the waitress proceeded with our orders, she did a double check whether she had written down the right order. Okay … She got everything right.

But they kept on giving us the food which we didn't even order. JiaJia ordered for a Honeydew Pearl Milk Tea and they gave her Chocolate Pearl Milk Tea. Diddy ordered for a Chocolate Milkshake but it turned out to be Ice-Blended Chocolate. But at least they got my drink right. I always have Honeydew Pudding Milk Tea. Hahaha …

Both JiaJia and Diddy complained that the drinks were too sweet for their likings but mine was just acceptable. I ordered Hotdog Fried Rice for dinner. And guess what they gave me instead? Fish ball Fried Rice! Can't they even differentiate between hotdogs and fish balls? They are not even the same in color! *sweat*

I told the waitress that this is not the food which I ordered in the first place. She brought the food back to the kitchen and replaced me with another one. She practically dumped the plate on the table when she returned with my new plate of Hotdog Fried Rice. I almost had the urge to strangle her neck and have her suffocating. I don't mind a small mistake as no one is perfect and people tend to make mistake once in a while. And she doesn't even bother to apologize knowing that she had made a couple of mistakes.

Happy Birthday!

This entry is dedicated to one of my dearest. Please don't get the wrong idea. xD

Happy Birthday, Andrea!!!

Parents’ Day Dinner @ Shabu Shabu Ice Bar

When one of my colleagues told me that it's Father Day this Sunday, only then it reminds me that I have a blog entry which I had owed for quite some time. So, I guess it's time to post them up.

Sister and I organized a belated Mother's Day and advanced Father's Day dinner at Shabu Shabu Ice Bar last month. Initially, we have loads of options in mind but then narrowed down to Shabu Shabu Ice Bar in the end coz buffet dinner at Seasons Restaurant is extremely costly.

This is the second time I had been to Shabu Shabu Ice Bar but a first time experience for both my parents and Sister. Anyways, we ordered three sets of dishes. Two mini sets for both parents and a large set for both Sister and I to share. Hahaha …

Welcome to Shabu Shabu Ice Bar …

The menu booklet …

Ever wondered what are the red pots for? I mean for those who had never tried Shabu Shabu Ice Bar.

After we had our food ordered, both Sister and I headed towards the sauce bar. They had variety of sauces for customers to choose from sesame oil to whatever sauce you could think of. They also provide complimentary bottomless plain water. But you have to help yourself with the drink as there is no waiter or waitress to help you filling up your cup. Hahaha …

Our eating utensils ...

1. Salmon Fish Fillet Set

2. Ostrich Sliced Meat Set

I don't know what is the exact name of the dish called so I made one up. It should be something like that with the word Ostrich. Hahaha …

3. Mixed Seafood Set

4. Side dish - Scallop

This is the large set which Sister and I had. Nothing much to scream about except the fact that you get loads of seafood in the dish. Hahaha …

The four of us had different soup base for our food. I did not took all the picture of the soup base that we all had so I only remembered that I had curry flavored soup base. Hahaha …

What does the color of the curry soup looked like to you? It looked like orange colored oil paint, right?

This is our family portrait minus Sister. Hahahaha …. =D
