Christmas Photos Part 2

Here are some more pics from the past week. Warning: LONG blog post!

Finally meeting Santa! We made it to the mall on Wednesday just to have a photo taken with Santa. Of course Logan had to make sure he asked for a train again as well. He'd already sent Santa a letter from school.

Uncle Jeremy with AJ.

Jeremy, Golda, Cory, Allie, me, and Shaun.

Uncle Trent with AJ.

Shaun serving himself some of our family's traditional Christmas Eve dinner- fish, perogies, homemade rolls, and borscht.

Kasey, our niece-dog.

Shane, Logan, Aunt Betsy, and Granddaddy (my dad).

"The other table."

Now with full tummies, chillin' with Kasey.

Writing a letter to Santa- it had to be a pre-thank you letter since he'd already sent the letter to Santa asking for the train and had seen him at the mall.

Playing Settlers of Catan, which I think we played two or three times. One of my favorites and everyone loves it!

Surprisingly natural- Aunt Allie with AJ. It was great how natural Allie was with AJ, especially since she's the sister who has declared long ago that she doesn't want kids. She was awesome! Of course all of the aunts and uncles were wonderful with AJ. I think when you hold a baby that young you can't help but love every moment.

Something we did growing up, as a family and with extended family, was to act out the nativity scene. I think this was the first time we'd all been together to do it again- my sisters and I. It was fun, and funny, and very touching. This brought back a LOT of memories for me.

Here's Logan, our toothless king- he represented all three kings bearing the gifts of gold, frankinsense, and myrh.

The angel (Betsy), Mary (Golda), and baby Jesus (AJ!).

Betsy's husband, Trent, decided we needed to include the "little" drummer boy and also played King Herod.

Baby Jesus, aka AJ, in his manger, aka car seat:

The three kings rejoiced!

A somber moment as the king visits Mary and Jesus.

Joseph, Uncle Cory, sits by the manger. Then Aunt Allie, an audience member tries to make AJ smile (it worked several times while she was here!).,

Not pictured: Uncle Jeremy, as the narrator. Audience members- me and my dad. Videographer- Shaun. Somehow the shepard, Shane, was also not picured with his sheep (snowmen). I don't think the camera person (possibly me) had a good angle to photograph them.

Here are Shane and Kasey all tired out at the end of the day:

After the kiddos went to bed, the adults played and put together Christmas presents.

Ok, so this is what I did while the others did stuff!

The brothers-in-law put together a fooseball table we'd gotten for the boys. Here they are in progress and at the end:

Here's what Aunt Golda did too:

Don't tell Logan but Aunt Betsy had to help Santa rearrange the presents under the tree and set up his Polar Express train! She (they) did a beautiful job!

Christmas morning:

Late afternoon, Shaun fries the turkey:

In-laws joined us for dinner:

AJ checks out his new swing:

Thanks to my sister Betsy for taking most of the photos while she was here. Unfortunately that means I don't have any photos of her holding AJ, which she did lots! She also changed lots of diapers! Wahooooo! Wow do I miss you all. :(

Christmas Card/Baby Announcement

I've combined our Christmas card with AJ's birth announcement. I hope you like it! I meant to post this on Christmas and am now finally getting around to it. Happy Holidays to All! ~Melissa

Christmas Photos Part 1

We've been having lots of fun with visiting family and enjoying some wonderful food. Here are a couple pictures taken over the weekend. More to come later this week!

This picture includes my mom, her husband Lester, and my grandma.

I put together some Christmas photos I'd taken of AJ for a Christmas card to be sent out next week (I just got around to making the card and ordering them yesterday). This photo didn't make the cut but it makes us smile so I wanted to share it on my blog.

Picture Updates

Due to popular demand:

This is what AJ did, while on my lap, as I watched Shane and Logan decorate our Christmas tree on Thursday evening. Shaun wrapped presents. We had finally gotten around to buying the tree late Wednesday evening.

After Friday's bath time AJ was such a happy baby! He usually is. :)

Somehow I didn't think to bring the camera with me when Shaun, AJ, and I visited Logan's class late Friday afternoon. I also didn't get a picture with Trudy and Jodi when we had lunch on Saturday. However, Trudy's parents did get one of the three of us, possibly with AJ, so that one might show up on Facebook sometime.

We've had my mom, stepdad, and granny here visiting since yesterday and they'll be here until Tuesday. I'm sure I'll get a few photos of them with AJ as well. So far they've been the ones taking the pictures.

Meeting Family

ARGH!!! Our first "family" picture was not saved to a memory card, or so it appears. When leaving the hospital, and the first time the boys were actually able to be with their new baby brother, a lady offered to take our picture. I handed her my camera and showed her how to take the picture. She did take one but my camera must have not had the memory card in it because the card does not have the picture on it. So frustrating! That was a moment that will not be relived. I'm very sad that we don't have the picture to share (all of us bundled up for the cold and AJ in his car seat with us huddled around for the picture). I'm even more sad that the memory will probably slip away for all of us. Here a few photos taken since then...notice that moments later, at home, the memory card WAS in the camera! I don't know how else we could have lost that photo though.

Meeting Linenberger grandparents on Saturday evening:

Shane and Logan's gingerbread house:

My boss and friend, Susana, brought my boys to her friend's home on Saturday to make a gingerbread house. They had lots of fun and I was happy that they were able to do something special together, that was not about AJ. We've all been snacking on the delicious gingerbread and candy since!

I'm feeling so incredibly blessed!

Little Brother Gets Ready to Meet Big Brothers

Here are a few more pictures from Wednesday and today!

This is how the older boys first saw their brother about an hour after he was born. Very hard moment for me!

Flowers from my family and the Provost's office at work lined my wall and were noticed by everyone who stopped by (doctors and nurses)!

Me a couple hours ago with AJ. He's now in his "going home" outfit.

Earlier this afternoon.

Now in his outfit:

Shaun and the boys picked out the outfit a couple weeks ago. They had fun doing so!

We'll be heading home in a couple hours and hopefully we'll take lots more pictures. I'm sure we'll have a busy evening once we get home too!
