16 weeks to 24 weeks with babe #2

Well it's been far too long since I've updated the good old blog - like over 7 months too long.  The other night I was laying in bed trying to think back to compare how this pregnancy is going vs Malin's and realized I started blogging about her at 14 weeks pregnant.  When I looked back I realized how much I enjoyed writing about how things were progressing and have yet to say one thing about this little new baby on paper. So here it goes!!

We found out I was pregnant on November 24, 2013 (Thanksgiving Day and the day after my birthday!).  After a miscarriage earlier in the fall, I was both thrilled to see a positive test and scared to death all at the same time.  We had a lots of blood work done and an ultrasound at 5 weeks (saw a sac and the beginnings of a yolk sac), 6 weeks (saw the heart flickering away...such a relief), 9 weeks (a little gummy bear!) and then at 12 weeks for a NT screen which looked very good and healthy.  All the extra monitoring was a blessing and a curse.  It was reassuring to feel like our doctor really wanted to make sure things were progressing well as they had not with the last pregnancy, but at the same time, a little stressful.

I felt pretty lousy weeks 6-12.  Luckily carbs were my best friend during that time.  I don't think you even want to know how many bagels were consumed over those 6 weeks.  Or the number of Curious George episodes that were viewed by Malin as I layed on the couch. :)   Once I hit 12 weeks I started to feel much better.

Started feeling this baby move at 16 weeks.

At 22 weeks got my first you must be due any day now comment.  I choose to believe that the man had never seen another pregnant woman in his life.

And here we are at 24 weeks. I'm feeling huge, eating a ton, not exercising as much as I was with Malin, but life is good (and crazy).  I have a huge weakness again for french fries, but this time, specifically Wendy's fries.  This week I have been sending Lucas on a hunt for fierce gatorade flavors...surprisingly hard to find.  In the meantime, I'm working full time, chasing down a crazy toddler, trying to keep our poor dog from gaining any more weight, and sometimes managing to pick up the house. I'm sure life will be even crazier come August.

12 months / 1 year

Malin @ 12months

Eats
Bread and cheese. I don't think she's had anything green in well over a month. ugh.

Moves
She's crawling, cruising, pulling up on everything, into cabinets (and climbing on ottomans) and well, frankly, does not sit still.

Says
A few things here and there, but nothing consistent.

Does
Points to where she wants to go and what she wants to do. Waves Hi and Bye. Gives kisses to her animals. Follows some directions and is awesome at finding toys (Elmo, Baby) even if they are buried in the toy bin.

Most of our shoot looked like this though.

and then she was *one*

365 days.  I can't believe my baby is one.

Sweet baby Malin.

is now busy, busy toddler Malin.

There was cake, there were presents. Lucas had the weekend off so we celebrated the birthday girl all weekend.  I think she had a great time.  And although she'll never remember this birthday, I will never forget looking at the clock on July 8 at 6:45pm and remembering the first time I kissed my baby girl.

A post dedicated to Mormor

We've been lucky enough to be able to see my mom (mormor) quite a bit since M has been born, but the month of June was extra special.  We spent most of June plus a week in NY with Mormor.  I loved having the extra hands and love that Malin gets to spend a lot of time with Mormor since we don't have any family in NY.

I think they have become best buddies.

11 months

Malin @ 11months

Eats
Too many things to list, but our favorite remains as cheese.  Malin will eat her weight in cheese. Still loves watermelon.

Moves
Non-stop crawling. Standing up on everything.  No cruising yet.

Says
No. That's about it. Except it's a whiney "NAH NAH NAH"

Does
Points at everything and everyone. Obsessed with looking at pictures, playing the guitar and reading books.

I am in denial that my little baby is turning one.

10 months rounding the corner to 1 year old

I cannot believe how quickly each month goes by.  And every month I am at least 2-3 weeks behind on M's monthly updates.  This month we moved to a new house in a new neighborhood.  and it was work.  Let me tell you, I think it was worse than moving across the country.  Well maybe I just didn't have to do as much since I was nearly 9 months pregnant. Ha.

Malin loves big kids, acting like a big girl, clapping, music, smiling and still loves to not sleep through the night.  Huh? Despite not sleeping through the night at now nearly 11 months, Malin is a happy happy baby.  And an exhausting one.  Malin started army crawling just before 10months and "real" crawling right nearly on her 10month "birthday".  To say she is always moving is an understatement.

Can't imagine my life without my little buddy though!

Malin is on the verge of crawling which means the frustration level and whining at our house as at an all time high.  But I will say that this past month has been so fun to see more and more personality.  Malin is a social butterfly and I just love it.  She loves to be out and about and will literally "squawk" at people to try to get their attention and they flash them a smile.  This girl has not had any problems with stranger danger.  I am obsessed with my happy baby.  So here is the latest from us:

1. Ears. A major improvement in her ears as determined by the ENT which buys us more time and less chance that we will have to go the tube route.

2. Ms. Malin says "Ms" now so I've heard a few "mamas" in there! Not really at me, but at least we're headed in that direction.

3. Sleep. Malin goes to bed around 7ish and may or may not take a bottle or nurse at 10.  Then she's up between 6:30-7.

4. Clapping.  Oh and this girl loves to clap.  See our video

5.  Reading.  Malin finally is getting interested in books.  This month our favorite was "That's not my bear" and Malin can find all the things that make it the mouse's "wrong" bear (squishing nose, too soft paws, too shiny paws, scratchy tongue).
