Well it's been far too long since I've updated the good old blog - like over 7 months too long. The other night I was laying in bed trying to think back to compare how this pregnancy is going vs Malin's and realized I started blogging about her at 14 weeks pregnant. When I looked back I realized how much I enjoyed writing about how things were progressing and have yet to say one thing about this little new baby on paper. So here it goes!!
We found out I was pregnant on November 24, 2013 (Thanksgiving Day and the day after my birthday!). After a miscarriage earlier in the fall, I was both thrilled to see a positive test and scared to death all at the same time. We had a lots of blood work done and an ultrasound at 5 weeks (saw a sac and the beginnings of a yolk sac), 6 weeks (saw the heart flickering away...such a relief), 9 weeks (a little gummy bear!) and then at 12 weeks for a NT screen which looked very good and healthy. All the extra monitoring was a blessing and a curse. It was reassuring to feel like our doctor really wanted to make sure things were progressing well as they had not with the last pregnancy, but at the same time, a little stressful.
I felt pretty lousy weeks 6-12. Luckily carbs were my best friend during that time. I don't think you even want to know how many bagels were consumed over those 6 weeks. Or the number of Curious George episodes that were viewed by Malin as I layed on the couch. :) Once I hit 12 weeks I started to feel much better.
Started feeling this baby move at 16 weeks.
And here we are at 24 weeks. I'm feeling huge, eating a ton, not exercising as much as I was with Malin, but life is good (and crazy). I have a huge weakness again for french fries, but this time, specifically Wendy's fries. This week I have been sending Lucas on a hunt for fierce gatorade flavors...surprisingly hard to find. In the meantime, I'm working full time, chasing down a crazy toddler, trying to keep our poor dog from gaining any more weight, and sometimes managing to pick up the house. I'm sure life will be even crazier come August.
