Opera 8 is good

and has clocked 1 million downloads since its release a few days ago. So Opera's CEO has agreed to swim from Norway to the US, in a feat starting a few hours from now. Check the site out...

From the Opera Website:

Before the weekend, Opera's CEO, Jon S. von Tetzchner boldy proclaimed at a company meeting that if download numbers of Opera 8 reached 1 million within four days he would swim from Norway to the USA [press release]. Opera's communications department could not resist the temptation, and made his statement public. As any respectable CEO and gentlemen, Mr. Tetzchner stands by his word.

Woo

Opera 8 has a built in RSS feed manager. Sweet. Go get it. And get your blogs RSS enabled already.

Of course, RSS feeds make you surf more. Which is kinda good when you're on holiday and bored to tears, but kinda bad when you have midterms and problem sets and other random things to worry about.

The Dark one is ready to come out of stasis in soft padded styrofoam bits.

And exercises his dominion over random puppies passing by. ARRrrr!

note the age reccomendation on that thing. Clearly they underestimate the corrupting power of the dark side.

Whether the weather be hot...

or whether the weather be cold,
Chicago has spring i'm told.

but when the wind blows gales,
and the snow falls in pails,
i start to doubt that fact
and don't know what to expect

from sandals and Tshirt
to down jacket and ears that hurt
spring is here at last
even if Var(temp) is vast. =P

In other news, Les Miserables ROCKED. so did R&J. and Mezzosop Michele de Young. And tonight's meiyi's dance concert. Concert damage: $65 in last 4 days.

Pictures of U of C through the seasons

Yes i'm lazy to post a proper post. I'm also rather bogged down by admin matters. For future reference, a taurus is incoming.

Time Sink

In other news, when i'm cryptic on my blogs, i guess it's just meant to be that way, and if you don't get it, then that's just the way it is. Sorry. Just ask me personally if you wanna know, i guess. Some things are not for posting on the web.

Salutations

Recent events have made me come to the realisation that i have been so casual over the past few months that i have forgotten all the little social etiquette rules that are so quintessentially reflective of a sort of controlled manerism. The restrained carefully chosen words and little behavioral traits which, while impeccably polite, tend to matter for very little except to certain people similarly trained to behave in the same social pact.

However, i don't really feel any regret at that, either. It's more of a "oh, hmm, something's happening to me, should be more careful when it really does matter" kind of feeling. I think sometimes i'm too blatantly honest in a brain-mouth way, which probably isn't the best trait to have in certain situations. Oh well. This i suppose is why politics will never be for me, and I for it.

Middle Aged Music

So whassup with the imagery of how all these ancient church pieces are sung in darkened rooms by dim candlelight? Was the sun dimmer back then than it is now?

And it really is pretty bright now. All 13 hours of it.

Printemps est ici

It's a very special kind of freedom and happiness when you can walk around outside without a jacket, feel the warm wind carressing your face, see the lifeblood of the school pulsing around you (i.e. students sitting around doing HW) and smell the smell of chlorophyll once more.

'Course, it's sucky when you start sweating again too.

So today was a very very balmy 20 degrees, it felt just like singapore once again, and to think, i used to sleep at a climate-controlled 24 degrees and feel cold some of the time! The season has come where cool drinks sipped outdoors are really refreshing, and you want nothing more than to just ... lie there....and look at the clouds... and.... muse..... perchance to doze....

And i never really understood what the whole deal was with Americans and going out to play because it was a 'nice day' until now. I mean, this is a nice day. And i swear i only spent 30 minutes in the reg today. Really.
