A new post!

Okay i've been lazy at the posting, just don't feel like posting pics about my holidays. Ask me for them, if you wanna see, otherwise i have the hard copies so you'll eventually see them. Too many nice pics, but not very many are actually representative and nice at the same time, those must be on the other camera which whirrs.

Very strange emotional swings of late, I suppose it's partly due to my inability to let go. Also still adjusting to changes in camp environment since i got back on monday, new miniboss starting to throw his weight around and he has this nauseating electric air freshener in the office which i just can't stand. I bet that contributed somewhat to my lung problems last week.

The weekends are always higher points, thanks to all my friends who bring happiness into my life. And so i sign up for french lessons at alliance francaise (they've got a REALLY cool building with a nice cafe and a small library of mostly french books and films and stuff, it's almost like a little french clubhouse, nice place to spend time if you have such a luxury, and, of course, a membership, which you need for the lessons anyway) next jan, because i still believe it's a beautiful language, even though it's unfortunately lost part of its sparkle to me since i started wanting to learn it a year or so ago. I eventually decided all the small informal attempts to learn french weren't exactly working very well, and so since rishi's keen on it, that's where we'll spend our sat afternoons for the first few months of next year.

Oh and welcome back, ah-gan =)

how accurate is it? I can't really say. What's the big diff btw 46% and 53% anyway? i guess they're generally correct but i can't really say if they're accurate to any large degree. Personality tests just serve to reinforce your conception of your personality sometimes, and it becomes a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy. I suppose you can't get too obsessed over a bunch of statistically calculated things sometimes, unless the questions are very clearly phrased and interpreted in the way they're supposed to be. but then you'll never know, will you?

1337 h4X0r

so i go away to camp for a few days, and i return to discover that my start menu has had its clutter increased by a entrant. Dark signs, it says. So of course, in the spirit of adventurous enquiry, i run the program, thinking it's some funky screensaver or something that my sis keeps seeming to fall for.

And it turns out to be a console. huh? another one of my sister's text based games. argh. oh well. looks funky enough with all its coloured ANSI. so then.

>help
available commands:
- addchar;bgcolor; cap; cd; clear; cldo; color; commands; connect; copy; crack;
- cut; date; drack; decrypt; delete; edit, etc.etc.

woah, my sis has a game which pretends to be an OS. And includes its own programming language too, including a tutorial on how to program an ip scanning thingie.

And what does she do with it?

she programmes a command which will show the date and time and change colours and things when you type in 'bored'.

I love my sis.

Premptive leave of absence

This space for rent. Excellent location within 2 clicks away of an MRT. Spacious flooble and haloscan comments boxes.

Owner will be away from the 8th to the 21st, please don't call me, unless you wanna pay IDD charges....In the meantime please amuse yourself by spamming my boxes, safe in the knowledge that if you spam enough, i won't be able to read whatever it was you wrote on my flooble.

Oh, and if i catch SARS or the plane crashes or something, it was nice knowing you. Well, most of you anyway. =)

Which irrational number are you?

must i say something before blogger will publish it?

What Irrational Number Are You?
You are π

Of all the irrational numbers, you are the most famous. You have many friends and fans. Like many people, non-Euclidean geometry makes you feel uncomfortable. You are involved in so many things that it seems like it would take two of you to make ends meet.

You are particularly close to the rational number 22/7. However, you and e have been called "remarkable."

Your lucky number is approximately 3.14159265

Legality

SO why's it that in the US, you can watch RA shows before you can drink, but vice versa over here?

It seems Singapore is more concerned that RA shows corrupt the sensitive asian values, and the US probably thinks that seeing something isn't as evil as getting drunk, and then possibly going out to do evil things. (like, say, looting!)

It's like that economic moral analysis.... that activities which produce more negative effects for society as a whole should be restricted more than activities which are less harmful to the public. Which means that drugs should be more legal than alcohol, coz people shot up with cocaine just sit in a corner lolling and getting high while being very low are less dangerous than drunken people who proceed to get into street brawls and drive over kittens and stuff.

What does the difference in laws mean, after all? That the US doesn't think their 16 yr olds can control themselves well enough to not drink to excess, while they can be trusted not to get their morals (further) corrupted by seeing wanton killings and other wanton things? hmm.

oh and what gogo uses in kill bill? it's a kusari-gama sans the kama, damnit, not a ball and chain.
