I am heading off for the weekend for a much needed mommy vacation! At times I feel as if I couldn't possibly be pulled in one more direction and I will feel a tug on my pant leg and hear "Mom, I need you to...." Although I feel like I am going crazy on some days I wouldn't change my life for anything in the world. There's not enough money in this world to replace the love that I have for my darling husband and 3 little angels!
The girls and I are heading out of town for a couple of days and boy are we looking forward to it! It will just be shopping, eating, talking, shopping, talking, eating and more talking!!! What could be funner than that? I'm sure that we'll try to sneak some much needed sleep in there somewhere too!
I just wanted to say a couple of the little comments that my boys have said in the last couple of days that made me laugh...
Talen: We went to the hospital to visit my sister-in-law and on our way out we stopped to see the babies and as we were leaving he said: "That baby just kicks hims legs and says wah, wah, wah!" And today he was playing a little laptop game and he said "This is fantastic! I winned, huh mom?"
Tray: I went on a field trip with him yesterday and we rode on the bus. Wow, what an experience! He said "Mom, aren't buses the best? I wish you could ride with me EVERY day!" I think that I'll pass on the daily bus ride, but it was way cute that he was so happy that I was there. This morning Ed woke the boys up and Tray was still sound asleep and said "Tegen, you are making a Chubaka noise." Then Ed said they all started laughing!
Tegen: He went to a birthday party where the theme was spy and he came home with some cute spy gear. Later in the day he walked up to me with a mustache on his face and said "Would you like any Grey Poupon?" It was so funny!
I love my boys so much and I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to be their mom. I think that they are more the teachers than I am! Even though I love them with all my heart I cannot wait to go on vacation!!!!!

Cool New Photo Editing!
Holli posted about this website that offers free photo editing and I love it! Thanks Holli! This website called picnik is amazing. It lets you do a million different things to your pictures so I posted a couple different ones of the same picture just to show the difference. The top picture is night vision - not sure when you'll ever need a night vision picture, but it is awesome anyway! The bottom one I didn't do that much to, but softened the edges and brightened the colors just a bit. There are many fun ideas to do to pictures! I love to find new things like this- and the best part is that it is free and very simple (which is a necessity for us technologically challenged people!)

Please Spread the Word!
Janeal and her family were blessed once with an adorable little boy and would love to add another baby into their family. She made these cute pass along cards in the hopes that this could get their information out there to as many people as possible. Hopefully this card will fall into the right hands at the right time and her dreams will come true! They are such a cute little family and totally deserve to have their lives blessed with another of Heavenly Father's special little spirits. You can visit her blog to see her adoption profile.

The Cookin' Mama's!
Yea! Girls night out! Some new friends and I decided to start a recipe group. It was so much fun. Everybody brings enough of an assigned item of food such as drink, appetizer, main dish, side item or dessert to share. We ended up with a bunch of really good food and even better conversation. I know that cooking is not on everyone's priority list, but this is a really fun way to try to some new foods! I highly recommend getting a recipe group together because it is such a fun way to do a girls night out! We will be doing a recipe blog so check it out to see all the yummy things that we ate - the cookin' mama's

My Dinner Disaster!
Okay, so yesterday I worked really hard on a dinner for my family. I made cafe rio chicken and for a part of the recipe I needed to blend some ingredients which would later go into the rice. So I was blending away and suddenly I heard a clanking noise and I hurried and turned off the blender to see what was going on- oh no!!! The little plastic thing on the lid that is removable fell through- great! So I hurried and dumped all the contents out of the blender and tried to remove all of the plastic. Yea- I got it all- or so I thought.... We sat down to eat and Tray kept saying my rice is hard and Ed said it's just pieces of rice so keep eating. I took a bite- yep you guessed it- there was shards of plastic in our rice. My family thought I was trying to kill them. I was so sad because I had worked really hard on dinner and everything tasted so good- well... except for the plastic! I highly recommend this dinner. It is one of my favorites, but if you make it I recommend leaving OUT the plastic pieces! OOPS!!!!!!

JEALOUS!
Okay I know the commandment "Thou Shalt Not Covet", but I am so jealous! My parents are on a cruise in the Caribbean this week. They are enjoying mid-80 degree weather and going island hopping, meanwhile it's snowing here! That's right- we woke up this morning to another blizzard. I hear that it's supposed to be a little bit nicer this weekend, but until then I can only dream about going on a fabulous, WARM vacation to the Caribbean.

Oreo's Anyone?
face (or hands for that matter)! I have often thought- what if adults
acted like kids. What if when we got upset we threw ourselves down
on the floor and started kicking and screaming. My favorite tantrums
are when my youngest runs over to the carpet to thrown himself down
instead of hitting the tile. Or what if we whined when someone told us
that we couldn't have our way- and best of all what if when we ate we
always looked like this and somebody had to clean our faces and hands
after every meal? Sometimes when my kids start throwing temper
tantrums I like to whine and make a crying face. It usually gets their
attention pretty quickly! They think I am acting crazywhen I cry at
them- I love to see the looks on their faces! Does that make me a mean mom?

Thank You
I must say that I love my new blog layout and I wish that I could take the credit for it, but I can't! I just wanted to say thanks to Janeal. She is so creative and knows what will look really good. I wish I could be so creative and crafty, but instead I will settle for friends who are and can do the job for me. Thanks a million- I love it!

MOTHERHOOD!
This was an email that I got today and thought that it was a great reminder of how important motherhood is and what a blessing it is to be trusted by Heavenly Father to raise sons and daughters of God and be able to teach them and love them while we are here on this earth!
This is a little reminder, of what a special job we all have!
A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.
'The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'
Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'
'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.
''Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.
''But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.
'At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'
Conference this Weekend
nice to have some time to reflect on all the things that we have been
taught throughout our lives. It will definitely be sad to not hear from
President Hinckley- he was always my favorite speaker and had so much
love for all of us. I am, however excited to hear from our new prophet
President Monson. He has always been my second favorite speaker so it
will be fun and exciting to see what new things and ideas he wants to
share with us! I like going to church every Sunday, but I must say that
I do look forward to conference each time and being able to relax and
not have to put on a dress and fight my kids in sacrament meeting!
I think we are very blessed to have a living prophet and apostles
who are able to teach us and that we live in a free country where we
are able to listen to these messages without fear! I hope that you all
enjoy conference weekend as much as I'm sure that we will!
Kids Say The Funniest Things!
and Talen decided to be my little helper. I would ask him to do
something and he would say "Mommy, I am doing you a fever!"
I know he meant favor not fever, but maybe I have asked one too
many times for "fevers" from my kids if my 3 year old can tell me that
he did me a favor!
