Wow! - has it really been 4 months since I wrote something on here...? Well I guess it can be explained by a few things actually - one being computer hard-disc crash in the early fall - took me a while getting all my info back (still don't have my emails and address-book back so if you think I've been ignoring you and not writing emails then please hit me up ... I might not have your email address anymore)
I've also been working ALOT this fall - teaching alone has been the equivalent of a 150% position teaching at Listdansskóli Íslands which is our main ballet school. On the side of that it's been a project I've been managing for the Iceland Dance Company - trying to do my own thing - dating etc etc ... You get the picture hehehe - I simply need more hours in my day - or more days in my week, one extra day a week where I could just do me would be nice... Does anyone know where I could get a day like that? Please be in touch - would love to hear from you all

Hello dear friends,
I'm not even sure if anyone still reads this at all - it's been so long since I wrote anything on here. Uhhh yes... you guessed it, I've kept myself real busy.
Still working on the never ending project that is my apartment the new parquet floor is down and looks beautiful, I've done most of the painting that needed to be done but still need to unpack some boxes and go through stuff that I have. I do have ALOT of stuff in storage since before I moved to New York.
I started teaching this week again at Listdansskólinn, The Iceland National Ballet School, my old school where I went in the old days and then taught ballet there from 1993-2000. I'm teaching alot this year, ballet, composition, pas de deux, boys class + what we are calling body conditioning. I'll also be teaching 6 classes a week at another school AND working on some projects for/with The Iceland Dance Company. It is alot of classes and things to do but I'll actually have less teaching in the spring semester so that's good. I'm writing this off my Mac since the hard disk of my PC laptop is experiencing a failure of some sort. I'm waiting for my computer specialist friend to come help me out with that and hopefully I'll be able to recover all my files and documents... I'm a little afraid for my Address-book and emails... the computer had been acting up for a while and at the exact moment I was about to make a back-up of the address book and emails it froze, crashed and I haven't been able to reboot since :( ... total bummer

Back home in my old room...
Here I am, sitting in my old room at my parents house where I'll be staying untill I get my own appartment back. My tenants are moving out June 29th so after that I'll be able to move back in.
My journey back here went really well - Erin drove me to JFK which was a big big help with all the luggage I had with me. I've got to say -flying business class is definitely something I could get used to. I had some frequent flyer points with Icelandair that were about to expire so I used them to up-grade my ticket to business class... That gave me extra baggage allowance which came real handy now with all my excess luggage. The trip was really nice and cozy - the lounge at JFK really relaxing and all in all - good to be back home. It's VERY quiet here though I'll have to say. The past couple of days I've used to get back into things here - preparing for next year when I'll be teaching and also getting ready to move back into my appartment. There are some re-newations that I want to do before I move in and some that I will be working on after I move in. Before I move in with all my stuff I'm going to change the parket floor which I've been meaning to do since I moved in there back in 1998. I can't wait to get started on all this :)
I'm planning to go up north to the town of Húsavík to visit my grand-mother in the mean-time now... I haven't seen her for two years now so it's definitely about time I did.
I miss all of you people there in the big apple and if it was up to me I'd mix all the people I know and love into one glorious location where we all could live together. :) Now wouldn't that be nice huh?
I'm planning to write more about what I'm up to in the future so keep on checking in and also leave comments just so I know if someone/who is reading

Welcome to all my international friends
Today is my last day here in NYC where I have lived for almost 3 years now. I have had a fantastic time and had the priviledge of getting to know some fantastic people. I cherish the memories we have together and hope that we will meet again sometime in the future - be it back here, in Iceland or where ever else our paths may lead us.
I've used this blog-site to keep in contact with my friends and family back home in Iceland, here they've been able to seek news of my life away from home. Now that I'm moving back home the purpose of this site will change and from now on be a medium for me to write news for my international friends so they can keep up with what's happening with me back home in Iceland.

Suma morgna þegar ég er snemma á fótum horfi ég á sólina koma upp þarna í norðaustrinu meðan ég borða morgunmatinn - bleikur himinn og alles :)

Laugardagskvöld og einu sinni sem oftar sit ég bara heima og slappa af -
Síðan ég bloggaði síðast er ég búinn að ganga frá miðanum mínum heim til Íslands núna í næsta mánuði og er dagsetningin semsagt 16.júní, ég held ég lendi þarna rétt eftir miðnætti - Icelandair farin að fljúga tvisvar á dag til New York og ég fer í loftið héðan kl 2 um eftirmiðdaginn. Mér skilst það sé verið að plana mikil veisluhöld um allt land daginn eftir þann sautjánda til að fagna heimkomu minni til Íslands aftur :) hehehe (er það ekki annars rétt skilið hjá mér að sólin komi upp þegar ég vakna?)
Sat hérna og borðaði harðfisk fyrr í kvöld sem hún Gurrý frænka mín kom með færandi hendi fyrir nokkrum vikum - er búinn að vera að spara mér að borða hann. Takk! Þóra og Gunni fyrir það :) Smá svona taste of Iceland - talandi um það hefur ekkert spurst til páskaeggsins góða - einhver tollvörðurinn orðið feitur af því...
Fann annars SKYR :) í Whole Foods í gær - fékk mér tvær dósir og borðaði með bestu lyst. Ekki spurning að ég fari aftur þangað í skyrleiðangur. Hef kíkt eftir því nokkrum sinnum áður en aldrei fundið fyrr en núna...
Robin vinkona mín sem hjálpaði mér að fá vinnuna hjá Equinox segir mér að stjórarnir þar séu ekkert alltof glaðir yfir að missa mig, spyrja hana reglulega hvað þeir geti gert til að fá mig til að vera. Spurðu hana til og með hvort hún héldi að ég hefði áhuga á Manager stöðu hjá þeim... Semsagt sama staða og annarrar manneskjunnar sem réði mig hehehe - ég varð nú bara steinhissa yfir þessu öllu saman - ég vissi svosem að ég væri vel liðinn hjá þeim en fyrr má nú aldeilis rota en dauðrota...
Þetta er vissulega ljúfsárt að vera að flytja héðan aftur heim EN ef ég leita inná við og spyr mig hvað skiptir meira máli þá er það einfaldlega fjölskylda og vinir heima á Íslandi og þó ég hafi eignast fullt af vinum hérna þá er einfaldlega fleira fólk heima sem togar... Að ég tali nú ekki um íbúðina mína blessaða - talsvert meiri þægindi í boði þar heldur en hérna.
Ég ætla að reyna þegar ég er búinn að skrifa þessa færslu að henda hérna inn myndum af útsýninu mínu hérna sem er annsi skemmtilegt. Ætlaði að vera búinn að gera það fyrir löngu síðan...
Hlakka ofsalega mikið til þess að hitta alla aftur heima og núna er bara að reyna sitt besta að njóta þess að dvelja hérna í new york það sem eftir lifir...

Í dag fór hitinn upp í litlar 27 gráður hérna í New York og er altalað að síðustu árin hafi bara hreinlega aldrei komið neitt vor að ráði heldur sé bara kveikt á sumrinu beint úr vetrarkuldunum.
Spáin er svipuð fyrir morgundaginn en svo á nú reyndar að kólna aðeins aftur með rigningu á miðvikudag og fimmtudag. Kannski vorið komi þá
Sama má nú eiginlega segja um haustið hérna - voðalega stutt eitthvað
Held það sé ekki spurning að eitthvað er skrýtið í gangi með veðrið hérna í heiminum

Í tilefni þessarar fréttar á MBL.is vildi bara benda lesendum bloggsins á að ég átti afmæli í febrúar síðastliðnum og París er uppáhaldsborgin mín ásamt New York og Reykjavik...
