Trunk Full of Quilts Show

Encouraging Words of the Day:
I just found out about this wonderful Quilt Trunk Show from my sister. Its a place where we all get a chance to showcase our work on a blog post and link it up on this site. The Trunk Show is hosted by by Soma at Whims and Fancies. Just click on the photo below and you can go there too!
What a great place to see alll sorts of beautiful quilts made by our fellow bloggers. Here's the link:

I have two quilts I've made to show you. It seems like I've wanted a Christmas quilt for a long time but every time I thought about making one, it was almost Christmas and I never seemed to get it done. I finally started one in 2013, worked on it throughout the year, off-and-on, and finally finished by Christmas 2014. This pattern was from a Sampler Quilit-Along hosted by Beaquilter in 2013.
Here's another of my favorite quilts. My House Quilt is comprised of blocks from several sources. Whenever I found a house that appealed to me, I'd make that block and save it. Finally, I got enough houses to make a quilt. Well, the blocks are not all houses because I was getting anxious to see a finished quilt so a few blocks are not a house. Oh, and one year, I won some houses made by felllow quilters in a lotto hosted by Beth at Love, Laugh. Quilt blog:

Those are two of my favorite quilts, bad photography but great quilting, LOL.
That is all.

Hexie Flowers From Far Away

Encouraging Words of the Day:

We've been traveling but when we got home, I found these gorgeous flowers waiting for me in our mailbox:

These hexie flowers came to Texas all the way from my September partner in the Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap, Michele in Wisconsin, USA.

I think they're so pretty and love the contrast in the two. One flower in those beautiful browns and the other with its sunshiney center and the little confetti-looking print. Thanks, Michele.

And then there was another envelope which came to Texas from further away. Here are these lovely flowers from Sara in the UK, my October partner in the Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap.

What a coincidence, another lovely brown and 2 sunshiney yellow centers PLUS another flower with a confetti-looking print. I love the colors you chose for me. Thanks, Sara.

I'm off now to do my own sewing.

That is all.
