Extra Rehearsal

Hi guys. So sorry for the late notice.

Tomorrow, there will be a rehearsal for Brother's Silver Jubilee held in the primary school hall. ALL performing members are required to gather at the band room at 1.15pm. Attendance IS COMPULSORY. Non-performing members are not required to turn up. Estimated ending time is around 3.30pm. I hope everyone can make it as it is the LAST rehearsal before the actual performance. Very sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Hi guys. A few things to take note.



Everyone is required to get their own personal band file(BLACK in colour) by Wednesday, 21st October. It must be brought for every band practice. Each file must have a pencil and eraser for adding of additional information on any music scores. It should also consist of the following pieces: Jai Ho, Merry Widow, Japanese Graffiti XII, Nobody, Heal the World. SLs, please ensure that these instructions are being carried out.



There will be an audition held at the end of the year during the band camp.

Requirements:

-Secondary 1s

• Able to play major scales of up to 4 sharps and flats
• Merry Widow(slow section)

-Secondary 2s

• Able to play major scales of up to 5 sharps and flats
• Merry Widow
• Japanese Graffiti XII (as a bonus)
  

-Secondary 3s

• Able to play major scales of up to 6 sharps and flats
• Merry Widow
• Japanese Graffiti XII

-Mark Allocation

• Attendance(30%)
• Scales(30%)
• Set Piece(s)(40%)
• Passing mark(60%)
  

-Ranking

• LCP(after passing the Secondary 1 test)
• CPL(after passing the Secondary 2 test)
• 3rd Sergeant(after passing the Secondary 3 test)
• 2nd Sergeant(Based on performance)
  
• 1st Sergeant(Based on performance)
  
• Staff Sergeant(Based on performance)
  
• Master Sergeant

Take note that Ranking is based on PERFORMANCE, not seniority.


Lastly, a last reminder to all that there is practice on Wednesday, 14th October.

Thailand Trip for main band

Hi all,

Please take note that Main Band will NOT be going for the Thailand Trip. So those who has reserved those dates for the Band, you can now release it for your own family travel.

For those in Alumni Band:

Alumni Band's Thailand Competition is confirmed. We will be going for the Thailand Trip as planned 24th November to 30th November.

For those Main band members who would like to join the Alumni Band for this competition. Please do come for Audition on 17th October 2009 (Saturday).
