Ok... from the response of the number of people going to China, I seriously dont know whats going to happen. Currently, there are 21 main band members and 2 sec 4s who wants to go for the trip. This number is not confirmed yet because there are still a lot of sec 2 (those from camp who havent reply) So, there are still 13 ppl not going. I am not going to persuade or anything but just an advice: it is seriously more fun to go overseas with friends than with your family. Do not take this to heart because I know there may be ppl who disagree with me. Anyway, these are the details:

Date: 15 to 24 Nov
Fee: $300(Singaporeans)
$1000(Non Singaporeans and PRs)

Final time to confirm would be tomorrow morning. I may or may not walk around to ask you guys. So those who wants to change your minds or those who wants to give me your reply, please tell me by tomorrow morning latest. If not, you will have to go and Mrs Tey yourselves. Lastly, a Nil reply is needed.

Cheers,
James ^^

Since its formation in 2000, The Philharmonic Winds has been presenting meaningful concerts of high standards. Each concert revolves around a theme, such as Sounds of Japan, All That Jazz, Absoluut Dutch, An American Portrait and Death and Life, amongst others. We have also presented works by Grainger and Varèse, wind serenades by Mozart, Dvořák and Strauss, as well as symphonies by Hindemith and Barnes. In addition, The Philharmonic Winds has participated in opera productions of Puccini's Madama Butterfly and Weill's Street Scenes. In July 2005, the Philharmonic Winds was awarded Gold with Distinction at the 15th World Music Contest held once every four years in Kerkrade, the Netherlands. Over the last six years, The Philharmonic Winds has enjoyed performing with soloists such as clarinettist Tang Xiao Ping, Canadian euphonium player Kevin Thompson, yangqin player Qu Jian Qing, Dutch baritone Maarten Koningsberger, Dutch cellist Roeland Dujine, Dutch trombonist Jörgen van Rijen and Japanese saxophonist Shin-ichiro Hikosaka. The Philharmonic Winds strongly supports Singaporean composers by performing and premiering their works, devoting entire concerts to their compositions. Some prominent composers featured are Leong Yoon Pin, Kelly Tang and Phoon Yew Tien, to name but a few. We also seek to enrich wind repertoire with arrangements by our very own members. The dedicated members of the wind orchestra, whose name 'Philharmonic' means 'devoted to music', came together because of their love for music. From students to working professionals, our members are experienced performers, many of whom are currently furthering their music education at tertiary level. With the objective of reaching out to younger audiences and to promote youth music development, the Philharmonic Youth Winds was initiated in early 2002 to provide young passionate musicians an opportunity to further their ensemble experience. It is the aspiration of The Philharmonic Winds to become the finest wind orchestra in Singapore, aiming for professionalism in all aspects of the fine arts of music-making.
