the beach

Okay, so maybe there is ONE thing I don't love about the fall.
FALL OUTAGE
John works hard and he LOVES his job, but it never feels like a weekend or vacation until he is home.

MacMama and Pop were gracious to let Libby and I still join the family vacation even though we had to leave John at home to work. I always feel horrible for the long, crazy hours John works during outage. extra horrible for leaving him...to go to the beach....the kicker...with HIS family.

SHAME

but we had a fabulous time and beautiful weather...and promise we missed him!

These two are just cute. Three weeks apart, I can see lots of fun times in their future

long talks on the beach talking about life
...and the rare moment Isaiah wasn't eating sand!

Hanging out and having lunch together after playing on the beach

Libby LOVED everything about the beach. The sand, the water, the waves...truly an answered prayer. Rumor hasn't I wouldn't touch the sand for years. OR get in the water. Libby can be high maintenance. We don't know where she gets it.

Who me!?! Happy beach baby

All of the cousins in a row!
We were excited to learn this trip there will be another joining this crew in May!
Baby Norah will be a BIG sister!

WHOA!

Thank you MacMama and Pop for a wonderful time!

chick or treat

Libby loves to "dress up" so I had a feeling she might like Halloween!

one cute chick

ready to go!

We had a blast "chick or treating" with our friends at Hampstead...but Libby wasn't in to all the walking. She quickly decided she would rather ride and let her Daddy do all the work.

two little pumpkins

Is it too late to talk about Christmas?

phew! good...plenty of time.

How about last fall?!

2012 was a fabulous year. A sweet season of life. A time jam packed with firsts and fun memories.

I LOVE the fall. LOVE IT. Everything about it. While Libby was here last fall, it was spent it lost in new baby fog as we settled in to our new normal.

This fall was fun. Libby started walking and was ready to take it all in. The last week of October my friend Caroline and I decided to take our kiddos to the pumpkin patch. Our two were so little we had super low expectations, but it was such a fun afternoon.

I can not say enough kind things about the pumpkin patch. It was precious...full of fun things and the owner was patient enough to wait on us for the final hay ride of the day (after hours!) when we got lost driving to the pumpkin patch!

Hayride, pumpkin patch, baby pigs, goats, and did I mention a pig race!?
Looking forward to visiting again this fall!

decked the halls

with pinterest projects!

I saw this precious Christmas ornament on pinterest from this blog and wanted to give it a try.

We had a fun time making this ornament as a family.

Her instructions are great, but I would also add that you should stay in your jammies ALL day on the day you do this project. Just makes life more fun. Libby was excited about the "BALL!!!"
Buy extras. Babies (and Mamas) break glass

Our ornament didn't turn out as detailed and perfect as hers, but it still captures a time that is quickly fleeting and a hand that is quickly growing.

Plus embossing guns are fun.

I saw the next ornament and thought it would be a fun little "happy" for my newly married sister and brother in law, as well as my cousin and his wife for their first married Christmas. I liked the way theirs turned out (even though I forgot to take pictures) so I decided to make one for us...just seven short years after saying "I do"
