Will the latest installment be 2009's most successful sequel?
After the successful debut of a teaser trailer during the Super Bowl, a new, longer teaser for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is now available online.
Michael Bay's first Transformers film was one of the biggest box office successes of 2007, with a domestic haul of nearly $320 million. Even though it will be a highly competitive summer, Revenge of the Fallen could easily be one of 2009's biggest hits. The film has the prime release date of Wednesday, June 24 and so far no major summer blockbusters are slated to open that same day.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Let’s face it: sequels have a bad reputation. For every one as brilliant as The Godfather Part II, there are a dozen as unnecessary as The Godfather Part III. With the long-awaited Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull now playing, here are the sequels that didn't disappoint.

Now Showing in Theathers: The Bank Job
Genre: Thriller
Duration: 1 hrs. 50 min.
Starring: Jason Statham, Saffron Burrows, James Faulkner, Daniel Mays, Stephen Campbell Moore,
Director: Roger Donaldson
Producer: Charles Roven, Steve Chasman
Distributor: Lions Gate Films
Release Date: March 7, 2008

Synopsis
Inspired by the infamous 1971 robbery that took place at the Lloyds Bank in Marylebone London, LIONSGATE's ® THE BANK JOB stars Jason Statham (TRANSPORTER, SNATCH, CRANK, THE ITALIAN JOB) and Saffron Burrows (KLIMT, ENIGMA). The highly-charged heist thriller tautly interweaves high-level corruption, murder and sexual scandal in 1970s England. A car dealer with a dodgy past and new family, Terry (Statham) has always avoided major-league scams. But when Martine (Burrows), a beautiful model from his old neighborhood, offers him a lead on a foolproof bank hit on London's Baker Street, Terry recognizes the opportunity of a lifetime. Martine targets a roomful of safe deposit boxes worth millions in cash and jewelry. But Terry and his crew don't realize the boxes also contain a treasure trove of dirty secrets - secrets that will thrust them into a deadly web of corruption and illicit scandal that spans London's criminal underworld, the highest echelons of the British government, and the Royal Family itself...the true story of a heist gone wrong...in all the right ways.
Movie Reviews:
a movie review by: Joe Williams
Special Screening of Lionsgate's 'The Bank Job'
Jason Statham is a bare-knuckled Brit who has muscled into a marketplace dominated by Hollywood hulks and Asian martial artists. Like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson or Jet Li, he doesn't need critics in order to reach his fan base, so it's noteworthy that for his latest movie, Statham has teamed with respected director Roger Donaldson ("No Way Out") and given the press a sneak peek.
But unfortunately for fans of either cranked-up action flicks or brainy thrillers, "The Bank Job" is just as generic as its name.
It claims to be based on the true story of the biggest bank heist in British history. Although it's shoehorned into a groovy historical context, the 1971 crime is unsolved, so the details — and thus the characters — are a little fuzzy.
Statham softens his image ever-so-slightly as Terry Leather, a London car dealer with a family to feed and a petty-criminal past. That past catches up with him in the person of Martine (Saffron Burrows), a leggy ex-girlfriend who says she knows about a bank whose security system is being deactivated for repairs.
In reality, Martine has been recruited by British intelligence to find some dupes who can break into the bank and steal a safety-deposit box with photos linking a naughty member of the royal family to a black revolutionary.
As Terry, Martine and some colorful cronies use the old trick of tunneling from a rented retail space and up through the bank-vault floor. But what should have been a crowd-pleasing caper lacks both tension and invention.
The getaway is just the beginning of "The Bank Job," as the gang is pursued by spies, cops and a cutthroat porn king, all of whom have dubious reasons to retrieve the loot.
Action-movie geeks who expect Statham to go bloody ballistic will end up feeling robbed.

'P2' Clip and Photos!
Cinematical has just gotten an exclusive clip and photos for the upcoming Alexandre Aja and Franck Khalfoun garage horror film P2, which will finally bleed its way onto the big screen this week. Filmed in a particularly creepy garage around the corner from Toronto's Art Gallery of Ontario (pretending to be New York City), P2 is about a businesswoman named Angela (Rachel Nichols) whose Christmas Eve is anything but jolly. She finds herself to be the sadistic, lust-filled focus of Thomas (Wes Bentley), a psycho security guard, in a deserted parking garage.
Thomas doesn't take too kindly to Angela's sexual past, and this clip has him ready to give some ex-lover a taste of blood-filled horror medicine. Luckily, you don't even have to imagine what happens to the guy -- some extra clips over at JoBlo answer that question, and show you why Thomas is working as a security guard and not a makeup artist. The lipstick horror fest opens on Friday, so check out the trailer and more clips on the film's website. Additionally, stay tuned for Jeffrey M. Anderson's review tomorrow, and check out the gallery below -- featuring two new exclusive shots plus a bunch more creepy P2 images.

Box Office Movie: Mr. Bean's Holiday (2007)
In his latest misadventure, Mr. Bean--the nearly wordless misfit who seems to be followed by a trail of pratfalls and hijinks--goes on holiday to the French Riviera and becomes ensnared in a European adventure of cinematic proportions. Tired of the dreary, wet London weather, Bean packs up his suitcase and camcorder to head to Cannes for some sun on the beach. But his trip doesn't go as smoothly as he had hoped when the bumbling Bean falls face first into a series of mishaps and fortunate coincidences, far-fetched enough to make his own avant-garde film. Wrongly thought to be both kidnapper and acclaimed filmmaker, he has some serious explaining to do after wreaking havoc across the French countryside and arriving at his vacation spot with a Romanian filmmaker's precocious son and an aspiring actress in tow. Will Bean be arrested by the gendarmes or end up winning the Palme d’Or?

Coming Soon: National Treasure: Book of Secrets - Trailer & Details
I really enjoyed the first National Treasure movie because it was simple and silly but with lots of action that balanced out to be plenty of fun for me. Luckily enough people liked it too for a sequel to come down the pipes. National Treasure: Book of Secrets picks right back up with Nicolas Cage in the lead role as he hunts down the next history mystery. This time the mystery surrounds Abraham Lincoln’s assassination and missing pages from the diary of John Wilkes Booth. I’m glad to see the whole gang has returned including Jon Voight as Cage’s father and the very pretty Kruger as Cage’s love interest. The cast has widen with several other big names who should add lots of quality: Ed Harris and Helen Mirren (The Queen). I imagine we’re going to get a very similar flow from this movie and that would be more than fine for me. What did you think of the first one? Are you looking forward to seeing this one too? You’ve got until Christmas to get ready.
National Treasure - Book of Secrets - Details:
Release Date: 21 December 2007
Genre: Action / Adventure
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, Jon Voight, Helen Mirren, Ed Harris
Director: Jon Turteltaub
Expected Rating: PG
National Treasure - Book of Secrets - Plot:
Treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates (Cage) looks to discover the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, by uncovering the mystery within the 18 pages missing from assassin John Wilkes Booth’s diary.

Talk to Me Trailer
The new Talk To Me trailer has hit the web. This summer, a bunch of the streets in my neighborhood were shut down for filming Talk To Me. This film had my interest right away for 2 important reasons. Don Cheadle, who is just always pure money in the bank when it comes to the type of performance he'll give (If you haven't seen him in Hotel Rwanda, you've got to run out to Blockbuster and grab it TODAY) and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Chiwetel Ejiofor first caught my attention by being one of the most interesting movie "villains" I have ever seen in a film. His bad guy in Serenity made that movie for me. There was something so elegant and deadly at the same time about him. He was also fantastic in Children of Men.
Anyway, check out the Talk To Me trailer and let me know what you think of it. [source]

Movie Review: Letters From Iwo Jima
Starring: Ken Watanabe, Kazunari Ninomiya, Shido Nakamura, Tsuyoshi Ihara, Ryo Kase
Directed by: Clint Eastwood
And Letters is quality from first frame to last, a war film that is almost a tone poem in how it reveals the minds and secret hearts of the Japanese soldiers defending the volcanic island of Iwo Jima against American forces over forty days of battle in 1945.
Working from a screenplay by Iris Yamashita (her first), Eastwood's companion film to Flags burrows deeply into Japanese culture, starting with Lt. Gen. Tadamichi (the soulful Ken Watanabe), once an envoy to the U.S., who led the defense and came up with the controversial plan to tunnel the island (eighteen miles' worth) and dig caves to take on the American forces that far outnumbered them.
Eastwood's direction here is a thing of beauty, blending the ferocity of the classic films of Akira Kurosawa (Seven Samurai) with the delicacy and unblinking gaze of Yasujiro Ozu (Tokyo Story). Characters are drawn with striking nuance and tender feeling, be they Saigo (Kazunari Ninomiya), the baker who dreams of seeing his wife and baby, or Baron Nishi (Tsuyoshi Ihara), an Olympic equestrian who brings his horse to the island.
The scenes of combat, shot in desaturated color on the beaches of Iceland by the gifted Tom Stern and edited with grit and grace by Joel Cox and Gary D. Roach, gain in terror and complexity from what we learn of these men. We watch in horror as soldiers bang their helmets with live grenades, preferring suicide to surrender. Eastwood's film burns into the memory by striving for authentic detail. The result is unique and unforgettable. (www.rollingstone.com)
