This is terrifying …

Donald Trump just sent out one of the most ominous messages of his entire presidency: tweeting the suggestion that the 2020 election be delayed because of his patently false claims that voting by mail will lead to inaccurate results.

Dear MoveOn member,

Donald Trump just sent out one of the most ominous messages of his entire presidency: tweeting the suggestion that the 2020 election be delayed because of his patently false claims that voting by mail will lead to inaccurate results.1

Let's be clear: Trump does NOT have the power to move Election Day on his own—but today's threat could be a trial balloon to see if he can gain support from his base to claim that the results of the election are invalid, and if that succeeds, it could lead to one of the biggest and most dangerous constitutional crises in the history of our nation.

Mar, it is up to us to protect our democracy and ensure that Trump can't fully embrace his authoritarian fantasies. That's why MoveOn is joining with a coalition to build a rapid-response plan for hundreds of thousands of MoveOn members and our allies to take to the streets if Trump and the GOP make moves to disrupt the election or refuse to accept the results.

Will you chip in $3 a week to help us build out these plans and strengthen our election work to defeat Trump and his cronies on November 3 in a landslide? (MoveOn will bill your weekly donation to your credit card once a month starting today and will contact you shortly after the election to see if you want to modify or cancel your weekly donation.)

Count me in.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

Trump sent his tweet just 16 minutes after the Department of Labor released an economic report showing that the GDP has fallen a record-breaking 32.9% in 2020, with new unemployment claims reaching their highest peak since 1982.2

These numbers, caused by Trump and the GOP's disastrous handling of the coronavirus pandemic, are catastrophic for Trump—and new poll numbers show that he is dragging vulnerable Republicans, especially in the Senate, down with him.

He knows that these numbers and his complete failure to confront the pandemic, the rising death toll, the economic devastation, and the need to provide real relief make it more likely that he will lose in November. He appears desperate to save himself.

But while blustering about delaying the election may be preposterous, Trump's active attempts to attack the Postal Service and Mitch McConnell's refusal to pass legislation to safeguard voting during the pandemic could have very real consequences this fall.

Trump has installed a lackey, Louis DeJoy, as the new postmaster general, and he is working to destroy the post office from within. A leaked memo shows that at a time when the postal service is already strapped because of the coronavirus, DeJoy is cancelling overtime in ways that will slow down mail delivery.3 Additionally, and terrifyingly, USPS has released guidelines that say voters must request mail-in ballots at least two weeks before Election Day or they will not be returned in time to be counted.4 DeJoy claims these are efforts to improve the post office, but they could cause millions of votes to be invalidated—and we won't let it happen.

We need your help to build up our election protection campaign and fight back against Trump's latest dictatorial threats. Will you chip in $3 a week? (MoveOn will bill your weekly donation to your credit card once a month starting today and will contact you shortly after the election to see if you want to modify or cancel your weekly donation.)

Count me in.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

In addition to working with our partners to prepare a massive public response if Trump moves to invalidate the election, we are also:

  • Creating powerful videos highlighting Trump's authoritarianism and demanding that voters reject him at the ballot box. MoveOn's Creative Lab is hard at work on videos and digital ads that will be seen by the most important voters in battleground states to show them just how dangerous Trump can be and why it is so important to defeat him and his supporters in Congress in November.
  • Demanding Republicans publicly reject Trump's calls to delay the election. Republicans have been mostly silent about Trump's threats to delay the election or reject the results, and we must hold them accountable.
  • Commissioning battleground-state polls that show just how badly Trump and Republican Senate candidates are faring across the country. We released our first set of polls earlier this week showing just how much Trump's use of secret police in Portland is hurting his poll numbers, and with your help we can expand our polls to additional states.5
  • Pushing Congress to pass legislation providing funding to expand voting by mail. States across the country need federal help to build the infrastructure needed to support mass vote-by-mail efforts, which are critical to allow voters to safely cast a ballot during the pandemic. Mitch McConnell and the GOP have refused to move legislation on this, and we are working hard to demand that they stop obstructing and work to protect our election and save the post office from bankruptcy.

Don't for one moment think that Trump wouldn't actually delay the election if he could, or that he won't do whatever he can—legal or not—to maintain his power. It's up to us to stop him.

Will you chip in $3 a week? (MoveOn will bill your weekly donation to your credit card once a month starting today and will contact you shortly after the election to see if you want to modify or cancel your weekly donation.)

Count me in.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

Thanks for all you do.

This isn't a normal email

I'm Robert Fox, MoveOn's Chief Operating Officer. I'm usually behind the scenes, running our budget and operations, so I don't typically email you—but this is important.

Dear MoveOn member,

I'm Robert Fox, MoveOn's Chief Operating Officer. I'm usually behind the scenes, running our budget and operations, so I don't typically email you—but this is important.

Today marks 98 days until Election Day. That means we have less than 100 days to ensure Trump is defeated, Mitch McConnell loses control of the Senate, and a blue wave sweeps across the country. To make this happen, MoveOn is running the biggest, boldest election program in our 22-year history.

But we need your help to meet our budget and fully bring these plans to life. I just crunched the numbers, and we need an additional 1,542 new weekly donors to join us by midnight to meet our budget goals.

So I have an important request: With less than 100 days left and the clock running out, will you chip in $3 a week (that's 43 cents a day) to power our get-out-the-vote program? (MoveOn will bill your weekly donation to your credit card once a month starting today and will contact you shortly after the election to see if you want to modify or cancel your weekly donation.)

Count me in.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

At many other political organizations, the Chief Operating Officer spends most of their time wining and dining the billionaires and corporate donors that bankroll them.

But not at MoveOn. I don't answer to corporate bosses, and billionaires don't call the shots around here.

MoveOn is powered by thousands of small-dollar grassroots donations from members like you across the country.

And recurring, weekly donors are especially helpful to planning our budget and executing our ambitious campaigns. Let me explain why.

Recurring contributions provide a stable, reliable, and predictable flow of revenue to the organization. This allows us to plan for big, ambitious activities—like the type we have planned for the next 98 days—without having to try and raise the funds at each step to make it possible, and without pulling resources from our other work. With a consistent stream of funding, we can devote less time and focus to raising money and more energy to getting out the vote.

So, will you chip in $3 a week to help ensure we meet our budget necessary to defeat Trump, flip the Senate, and power a massive blue wave? (MoveOn will bill your weekly donation to your credit card once a month starting today and will contact you shortly after the election to see if you want to modify or cancel your weekly donation.)

Count me in.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

Mar, the average weekly donation to MoveOn is $3. Between now and election day, that weekly donation will allow MoveOn to do all this:

  • Text 32,000 voters in swing states between now and Election Day. One of our biggest strategies to win this year is asking MoveOn members to sign Vote Tripling pledges: pledges to reach out to three of their friends or family members, help them make plans to vote, and make sure they cast a ballot. Studies have shown that this strategy is five times more effective than traditional get-out-the-vote tactics—especially for younger voters who will be critical to winning in November.
  • Send a digital ad to 3,500 "high-potential voters" in battleground states. MoveOn's analytics team has been working to create high-tech algorithms to identify young voters, new citizens, first-time voters, and voters of color who are often ignored by campaigns but who—if they are mobilized—have the power to tip the results of the election.
  • And the impact of your contribution multiplies when it's added to the donations of other MoveOn members like you. For example, if you and 77 other MoveOn members started a $3 weekly donation today, that would provide enough funding to produce a new, hard-hitting TV ad!

The work we do over the next 98 days will determine whether or not we defeat Trump and flip the Senate.

To ensure that we are able to fire on all cylinders, will you chip in $3—or whatever you can—a week? (MoveOn will bill your weekly donation to your credit card once a month starting today and will contact you shortly after the election to see if you want to modify or cancel your weekly donation.)

Count me in.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

Thanks for all you do.

Join me to discuss how we win in November

Join Senator Elizabeth Warren, South Carolina senate candidate Jaime Harrison, and me as we discuss how to build an unprecedented coalition to win in November.

RSVP to our livestream on Tuesday featuring myself, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and Jaime Harrison!

Dear MoveOn member,

We all know that Donald Trump has been the most destructive president in recent history—and not only the most destructive: the most blatantly racist and focused upon voter suppression and dividing us rather than bringing us together to solve the huge problems that confront us.

We also know this beyond a shadow of a doubt: All of us must come together to not only defeat him in November but to flip the Senate from Republican control, preserve the House Democratic majority, and advance progressive candidates up and down the ballot. And to do this, we must articulate a bold, passionate, values-based progressive vision that excites people to vote in November and remain engaged in the work to undo the damage that Trumpism, Mitch McConnell, and their supporters in Congress have inflicted upon our country.

We must advance bold policies and engage folks from all walks of life in our political process. We must organize with tenacity, clarity, and purpose to inform, educate, and inspire voters to tune in and remain engaged for the long haul. This is going to take a powerful coalition, the kind that I've been building throughout my career and the kind I know that MoveOn and other progressive allies are building this year. If we accomplish this, not only will it lead to a victory for Joe Biden but also for progressive candidates nationwide at the congressional, state, and local levels.

Tomorrow night, I will be part of a livestream with progressive champion Senator Elizabeth Warren, U.S. Senate candidate from South Carolina Jaime Harrison and the team from MoveOn to talk about how we build the types of coalitions we need for electoral and policy success.

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, July 28 at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT for this conversation this important, inspiring conversation, moderated by MoveOn's Washington Strategist Reggie Hubbard. We'll be strategizing around how to mobilize a coalition to win up and down the ballot this November and beyond.

Click here to RSVP to tomorrow's discussion!

If we want to win big in November, we're going to have to build an unprecedented coalition of Americans, one that spans race, ethnicity, religion, age, and gender. We'll need to win support among urban, suburban, and rural voters. We're going to have to spread our message of an America for all to every corner of the nation and then mobilize our communities to make this message a reality.

We will also be hearing from Rahna Epting, MoveOn's executive director, about MoveOn's America for All campaign, MoveOn for Biden, and Vote Tripling with organizer training opportunities that are taking place soon. We will be thrilled to be joined by MoveOn members across the country for this important conversation and excited to learn from all of you as well.

Can you join us Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 P.M. PT? Click here to confirm your spot on tomorrow's livestream!

Thanks for all you do.

–Stacey Abrams

Get your free "Your Vote Is Power" sticker

Be heard loud and clear this November!

Dear MoveOn member,

People in line until after midnight in Georgia. Voters locked out of their polling places in Louisville.

"If your vote held no power, no one would try to silence you."

The November elections will be some of the most critical elections of our lifetimes. We say it so often because it's true. And you have a powerful role between now and November 3.

Today, MoveOn is launching Your Vote Is Power, a brand-new initiative that will use art and culture to drive voter registrations with the goal of turning out an unprecedented number of young voters and people of color this November. Your Vote Is Power is a partnership of MoveOn and Amplifier, in collaboration with emerging and leading visual artists.

In the months leading up to the November elections, MoveOn members will work to inspire new voters to go to the polls through innovative voter engagement tactics, art installations, distribution of posters, stickers, postcards, and other creative tactics that create a culture of voting.

We are offering free stickers displaying one of the initial works of art to all MoveOn members. You can get the first one right out the gate!

Become part of our Your Vote Is Power campaign by getting your free sticker, designed by artist Thomas Wimberly, now. Just click here or on the image below!

Young people and people of color, along with women, immigrants, LGBTQ people, and others, are disproportionately impacted by federal and state policies and Supreme Court rulings. But too often, they are shut out of the political conversation, are told that their votes don't matter, or face long lines, dysfunctional systems, broken machines, and changing and arbitrarily enforced rules that prevent their votes from being cast or counted.

The past few months have been a preview of what November could look like, as people in states like Georgia, Kentucky, and Wisconsin were forced to wait in long lines for hours to vote in primaries. The longest lines were in communities of color, where, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, voters had to choose between risking their health and exercising their right to vote.

But we can change this.

By acting together, we can build a better country where everyone can thrive.

Be part of the campaign: Click here to order your free "Your Vote Is Power" sticker now, share this message with your family and friends, and join us in this fight.

Thanks for all you do.

I have a personal request

In just a moment, I am going to ask you to split a $3 contribution between Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. But first I'd like to explain why this request—especially today—is so important.

Dear MoveOn member,

In just a moment, I am going to ask you to split a $3 contribution between Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. But first I'd like to explain why this request—especially today—is so important.

Ilhan and Rashida have been fighting for working families and advocating for policies like Medicare for All, tuition-free public colleges and universities, a Green New Deal, and ending mass incarceration and Trump's deportation machine. It is important that they continue leading our movement in Congress.

Both of them are facing their primary elections in August, and they are up against the political establishment, the financial elite, and some very powerful special-interest groups.

Their campaigns are not powered by billionaires. They rely on thousands of grassroots contributions from supporters like you, Mar.

MoveOn members played an important role in their elections two years ago—and now they are counting on you again. With their primaries coming up soon, your support today will make a huge difference:

If you can afford to, can you please split a donation of $3 between Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib? One hundred percent of your donation will go directly to their campaigns to ensure they are re-elected to Congress.

Ilhan and I have worked on a number of important issues in Congress, including canceling all student debt, providing school meals year-round to students, and protecting workers' rights. Ilhan also co-sponsored the No Ban Act to combat Donald Trump's xenophobic Muslim Ban, and she introduced a new War Powers Resolution to prevent Trump's reckless war with Iran. She is a courageous leader who is leading our movement in the House.

Rashida is a critical voice in our fight for justice. In her first term in Congress, Rashida introduced the successful House resolution to impeach President Trump. She has also passed legislation putting an end to fraudulent scams targeting vulnerable retirees and their pensions, and she passed legislation prohibiting medically necessary debt from showing up on credit reports.

Ilhan and Rashida are not afraid to challenge the status quo. They understand that there is nothing radical about guaranteeing health care to every man, woman, and child in the wealthiest country in the history of the world. There is nothing radical about guaranteeing affordable housing for all and ensuring future generations have a healthy and habitable planet.

If we are serious about creating a government that works for all of us and not just the wealthy few, then we need to keep leaders like Ilhan and Rashida in Congress.

That is why I am asking you to do something important that will help ensure their voices are with us in Congress for a long time to come:

Can you split a $3 contribution between Ilhan and Rashida ahead of their primaries next month?

I understand that times are tough right now and you may not be able to give. But if you can afford to, thank you for making a contribution to their campaigns.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders

Thursday: Anti-racism and allyship series

On Thursday, join a live event on how systemic racism is built into America and why it's necessary to center the voices of people of color in our work.

Dear MoveOn member,

The movement for Black lives is not a moment, it's a movement—a movement built on confronting the systemic racism that has been central throughout American history.

Join this Thursday's live conversation to learn more about the history we're confronting, the future we're charting, and the actions we can all take today.

RSVP now to learn how America was built on racism in our second Anti-Racism & Allyship webinar on Thursday, July 23 at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 PT.

Anti-racism and allyship RSVP

It takes a movement to create the systemic changes we need to re-imagine our society, since both our government and our dominant culture were created to protect the rights of white people and their property, which at one point included enslaved people.

It takes a movement to propel ourselves toward that society by defunding massive police budgets and re-investing in communities.

It takes a movement to ensure that the cops who killed Breonna Taylor—Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and officers Brett Hankison and Myles Cosgrove—are brought to justice.

MoveOn has partnered with Indivisible, NARAL, NextGen, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Demos, Daily Kos, and other allies to present a three-part anti-racism and allyship series to highlight the voices, activism, and expertise of Black leaders in this movement. Together, we're learning and challenging ourselves to recognize the opportunities to create change.

This week's speakers will include Karundi Williams, Executive Director of re:power, discussing why it's necessary to center the voices and experiences and leadership of BIPOC communities, specifically women of color, in political movements. We will also have scholar, speaker, and strategist Marcia Chatelain covering how systemic racism has been historically built into the foundation of our country. Leading our conversation will be MoveOn's Congressional Liaison and Washington, D.C., Strategist Reggie Hubbard.

It takes a movement to re-imagine our society, to invest in our communities and defund police, to ensure justice for Breonna Taylor, and so much more. These calls invite us all in to be part of this work.

Join on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 PT to participate in this important conversation to deepen our learning and to RSVP for the next event in this series.

Thanks for all you do.

We have a huge announcement to make!

This announcement allows us to go big to mobilize MoveOn members, volunteers, and voters in these states to elect these Democrats. If just three of our seven endorsed challengers win, we will end GOP control of the Senate this November.

Dear MoveOn member,

Let's cut to the chase: If we defeat Donald Trump on November 3 but Mitch McConnell and the Republicans maintain control of the Senate, our ability to pass progressive legislation will vanish.

No legislation to tackle the climate emergency. No federal policing or gun reform. No Supreme Court confirmations. Nothing.

That's why ending GOP control of the Senate is just as important as electing Joe Biden this fall and why today MoveOn is announcing our plan to do it. And with strong candidates, we've increased the map of what's possible—if we take action and get to work.

The first step? MoveOn members have endorsed six top-tier red-to-blue Senate challengers who will form the main team we will support and the states where we will organize to flip control of the Senate. Here they are:

  • Steve Bullock, who is taking on Senator Steve Daines in Montana.
  • Cal Cunningham, who is taking on Senator Thom Tillis in North Carolina.
  • Theresa Greenfield, who is taking on Senator Joni Ernst in Iowa.
  • Sara Gideon, who is taking on Senator Susan Collins in Maine.
  • John Hickenlooper, who is taking on Senator Cory Gardner in Colorado.
  • Mark Kelly, who is taking on Senator Martha McSally in Arizona.

MoveOn is endorsing them, along with Senate champion Cory Booker. We've already announced our endorsement of Jaime Harrison, a dynamic candidate who is putting Lindsey Graham on his heels in South Carolina. This announcement allows us to go big to mobilize MoveOn members, volunteers, and voters in these states to elect these Democrats. If just three of our seven endorsed challengers win, we will end GOP control of the Senate this November.

Here's the catch: While Arizona, Colorado, and North Carolina are also top-tier presidential battleground states, Montana, South Carolina, and Maine are not, which means we have to spin up and sustain full campaigning programs in these states in order to compete in the Senate races—without taking away any of the resources we need to defeat Trump.

Mar: Will you chip in $5 a month to power our campaign to take back the Senate in November?

Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Our plan to go big to support these candidates—and so many others—includes all this:

  • Running an innovative friend-to-friend voter mobilization program called "Vote Tripling." Recent studies have shown that one of the most effective ways to turn out voters is if their friends and family encourage them to vote. That's why we are asking hundreds of thousands of MoveOn members to take Vote Tripling pledges: pledges to reach out to three friends, help them make a plan to vote, and ensure they vote in the fall.
  • Flexing our analytical muscles to identify and inspire "high-potential voters." Our research shows that there are millions of voters across these critical states who are progressive but often stay home on Election Day: young voters, new citizens, voters of color, low-income voters, and others who are often ignored by campaigns. Our crack analytics team is building algorithms to identify these voters so we can target them with authentic, inspiring content to encourage them to vote. If only a fraction of them cast a ballot, it will make all the difference.
  • Fighting back against GOP voter suppression and online disinformation. Just like 2016, white supremacists, far-right extremists, and foreign actors are going all-in to spread disinformation online to suppress voter turnout. But unlike 2016, we're ready to fight back. MoveOn has hired a team of researchers and digital sleuths who are tracking disinformation networks, exposing them, and demanding that social media companies like Facebook take them down so they can't do any more harm.
  • And because the stakes are so great, MoveOn is also re-launching our Super PAC to allow us to compete with the GOP efforts that are flooding battleground states and districts right now on behalf of Trump. Using our Super PAC again, as we have in recent general elections, will let us fund needed ads, reach millions of voters through our tested and trusted Vote Tripling program, and more.

None of this will be possible without your support. Can you chip in $5 a month to help fuel these programs and  defeat Trump AND take back the Senate on November 3?

Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Defeating Trump and ending GOP control of the Senate are our top priorities, but MoveOn is also dedicated to ensuring that Democrats maintain control of the House and that more inspiring progressive leaders are elected this fall.

That's why we are also announcing that MoveOn members have endorsed a slate of incredible candidates for the House of Representatives running in competitive districts: Dana Balter (NY-24), Kara Eastman (NE-2), Christina Hale (IN-5), Sri Preston Kulkarni (TX-22), Betsy Dirksen Londrigan (IL-13), Candace Valenzuela (TX-24), and Cameron Webb (VA-5). They join MoveOn's other endorsed House candidates and, if elected, will lead the House to pass powerful progressive legislation on climate, the economy, racial justice, reproductive rights, and more.

It's a lot of work to support candidates for president, Senate, and the House, all across the U.S. This election will be the most important many of us face in our lifetimes, which is why MoveOn's election campaign is the biggest and boldest in our 22-year history.

But while so many of our tactics to win are new and innovative, one thing has stayed the same: The way we fund these programs is through tens of thousands of small donations from members like you. We never take a cent from corporations or special interests, because our allegiance is now and always will be to our members.

Can you join this fight by chipping in $5 a month?

Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Thanks for all you do.

Sign the petition re: CDC obtaining data on the pandemic

We are calling on Congress to immediately step in to revoke the Trump administration's order to make hospitals report vital COVID-19 data not to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention but to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

On July 10, the Trump administration ordered hospitals to bypass the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and send all COVID-19 data to a central database at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).1

The Trump administration's new order means that information vital to tracking the COVID-19 pandemic, including daily reports about patients and the number of available ventilators, will no longer go to the CDC—a federal agency with the expertise to collect this data—but to a new centralized system managed by the health data firm TeleTracking, which received a "noncompetitive, multimillion-dollar contract" for this "duplicative health data system."2

Tell Congress we must continue sending COVID-19 data to the CDC, as it is the agency best positioned to help our country emerge from the pandemic as safely as possible.

Unlike the CDC database, the HHS database is not open to the public, which undermines researchers, health officials, and others who depend on this data to conduct research and make crucial public health decisions, and hinders the efforts to curtail our nation's surging COVID-19 cases. And if the Trump administration wanted to withhold or skew data, with this new database, they could do so with impunity.

We are calling on Congress to immediately step in to revoke the Trump administration's order to make hospitals report vital COVID-19 data not to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention but to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Four of the CDC's former directors, from both Republican and Democratic administrations, wrote a joint letter commending the CDC's commitment to providing sound public health guidance and condemning politicians who are attempting to undermine the agency.

"The CDC is home to thousands of experts who for decades have fought deadly pathogens such as HIV, Zika and Ebola," CDC's former directors wrote. "These are the people best positioned to help our country emerge from this crisis as safely as possible. Unfortunately, their sound science is being challenged with partisan potshots, sowing confusion and mistrust at a time when the American people need leadership, expertise and clarity."3

This move by the Trump administration is yet another dangerous, politically-driven decision in its mishandling of the coronavirus crisis, and Congress must immediately step in to revoke the Trump administration's order to make hospitals report COVID-19 data not to the CDC but to the non-transparent, politicized, and untrustworthy database at the Department of Health and Human Services.

Click here to add your name to this petition, and then pass it along to your friends.

Thanks!

—Eric Williams

What happened last night

No two Republicans have done more to enable Donald Trump than Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham. And now is our chance to defeat them and replace them with strong, progressive leaders.

Dear MoveOn member,

Last night, Sara Gideon won the Maine Democratic primary to take on Susan Collins—the least popular senator in the country—and polls of the matchup show that the race is neck and neck.1,2,3

Gideon is the Speaker of the Maine House and built a reputation for standing up to Maine's own Trump-lite former governor, Paul LePage—and winning.4

Gideon would be the first person of color ever elected to Congress from Maine.5

And, in South Carolina, Jaime Harrison—who overcame grinding poverty to graduate from Yale and Georgetown Law and become the first Black chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party—is now tied in the polls with Lindsey Graham.6,7

Harrison is running an inspiring campaign that signifies the type of leadership and unifying vision that we need, not only in the Senate but in the nation.

No two Republicans have done more to enable Donald Trump than Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham. And now is our chance to defeat them and replace them with strong, progressive leaders.

But Mitch McConnell and his corporate donors will spend any amount of money to save his majority.

Will you chip in $3 now to help Sara Gideon and Jaime Harrison fight back and win? Your donation will be split 50/50 between their campaigns.

It was nearly two years ago when, after hearing harrowing testimony from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Lindsey Graham erupted in a screaming tirade, lashing out at Democrats and Dr. Blasey Ford herself, and telling then-nominee to the Supreme Court Brett Kavanaugh that he had "nothing to apologize for."8

Days later, Susan Collins broke the spirits of survivors across Maine and the country when she took to the Senate floor to announce that, despite the testimony and evidence against Kavanaugh, she would cast the deciding vote to confirm him to a lifelong appointment to the Supreme Court. She has defended that decision to this day, even while Kavanaugh has voted to strip abortion access from millions—a decision she claimed he would never make.9

Defeating both Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham is finally within our reach. The latest polling shows Collins down by four points in a head-to-head with Gideon, and Graham and Harrison are in a dead heat.10,11

We need to win just three seats to end GOP control of the Senate and power a blue wave this fall, and these two seats are key. But we need your help to do it, Mar.

Will you donate $3 now, split evenly between Sara Gideon and Jaime Harrison's campaigns? 100% of your contribution will go directly to their campaigns.

Sara Gideon and Jaime Harrison have proven themselves to be compassionate leaders who will work tirelessly to undo the damage done by Donald Trump and the Republican Senate—and build an America for all.

Thanks for all you do.

Shipt workers are striking today, July 15, and they need our urgent support (petition)

Add your name to support frontline workers employed by Target's Shipt delivery service.

Shipt workers are striking today, July 15, and they need our urgent support.

Dear MoveOn member,

Shipt, Target's grocery delivery service, has been terrible about supporting its frontline workers, who are risking their health every day. And to make matters worse, Shipt just announced that it will switch to a new, secret pay model, which workers say will hurt their already low earnings.1

The COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed how people shop for groceries, with many consumers now relying on home delivery services.

Shipt saw sales shoot up more than 300% in the first quarter of this year from a year earlier.2 The company nearly doubled the number of workers to accommodate demand.3

But Shipt service workers are being treated worse than Target store workers, even though they all work for the Target Corporation. Shipt told its workers that masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer would be available for them at any Target, but at some locations, workers were told that the masks were intended only for Target employees, not Shipt workers.4 And Shipt workers don't get the same paid family and medical leave benefits that Target employees get or the same workplace protections.

Will you add your name to call on Target's delivery service, Shipt, to pay its workers fair wages and provide workplace safeguards during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Sign Dr. Murphy's Petition

Shipt launched a new algorithmic pay scale to a dozen new markets today, July 15, and has made it clear that the scale will eventually be implemented nationwide. The new system lets Shipt discretely tweak pay, lower and lower, whenever it wants to. Shipt workers warn that through this secret system, Shipt can condition its workers to expect less and less.5

Shipt workers are striking today and saying, "We are done. We are tired. We are doing real and physically dangerous and demanding work. We deserve fair and transparent pay. But instead of being open, honest, and fair, Shipt's focus is on silencing us and attempting to leave us entirely unprotected during a pandemic."6

Many of us have used home delivery services during the coronavirus crisis, and even if Shipt wasn't one of the services you used, you know how hard delivery people are working and what an invaluable service they're providing to us right now, when we need them. Right now, Shipt workers really need us: Click here to add your name to this petition, and then share the petition with others.

Thanks!
