This is an unusual email (I don't typically write to you)

This is Robert Fox, MoveOn's chief operating officer. Frankly, it's never been more challenging to run operations at MoveOn, as our grassroots-powered movement fights to hold Donald Trump and his cronies accountable.

Dear MoveOn member,

This is Robert Fox, MoveOn's chief operating officer.

Frankly, it's never been more challenging to run operations at MoveOn, as our grassroots-powered movement fights to hold Donald Trump and his cronies accountable and respond to the torrent of crises Trump creates, while also working to put Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and other bold policies at the center of the Democratic agenda.

The past two years have been grueling and among the darkest in our country's history, but we're so optimistic after everything we accomplished together this past year, including our historic elections program, which helped power Democrats' biggest midterm election victory since 1974. And this past year's success has renewed our resolve and fierce determination to resist Trump at every turn in 2019, while advancing our vision for the country post-Trump.

I'm writing you today about MoveOn's 2019 budget. I'm working to finalize our 2019 budget for approval by the board, and I have an important request: Will you become a MoveOn weekly donor?

$3 a week—or whatever you can afford—will go a long way. And the greater the number of consistent supporters that we can count on, the more we can do in what may be the two most important political years of our lifetimes.

Yes, I'm in. I'll become a weekly MoveOn donor right now.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

We've set an ambitious goal of signing up 1,390 new weekly donors between now and midnight. This would mean $400,000 in additional, reliable funding for 2019—enough to fund an entire MoveOn team.

When you become a weekly donor, it will be my job to turn your ongoing support into a 2019 budget that would allow MoveOn to rise to the historic challenges we face with Trump. (And let me be clear: No budget is too large for the threat we face. Which is why I'm hoping that we blast through our end-of-year goal and raise even more.)

Click here to sign up to be a weekly MoveOn donor. Your weekly donation of $3—or whatever you can afford—will enable MoveOn to continue to help lead the Resistance—and also what's beyond.

Or if you can't donate weekly, then click here.

2019 has the potential to be a pivotal year: We can finally put a check on Donald Trump and the corruption, criminality, and incompetence emanating out of the White House and his administration.

At the same time, we must end Trump's shutdown without a dime for his wasteful, racist wall, expand our work to fight for immigrant families and asylum-seekers (we simply cannot allow more migrant children to die in U.S. Border Patrol custody), and be ready to respond to the next Trump crises—whether it demands organizing protests around the country at a moment's notice, flooding Congress with calls, creating viral social media explainer videos, or something else.

And we can't stop there. The United States remains the only major country on Earth not to guarantee health care to all. Pay has collapsed for the bottom 90% of workers, while executive pay has skyrocketed. And we're running out of time to stop catastrophic climate change. We need to make as much progress on these issues as possible at the state level while putting them at the center of the post-Trump agenda.

Will you chip in $3 weekly now to help us rise to the great challenges—and also opportunities—we will face in 2019?

Yes, I'll chip in weekly and help keep MoveOn strong and fighting in 2019.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

Thanks for all you do.

–Robert Fox, MoveOn's Chief Operating Officer

P.S. The groundwork we lay over the next 12 months could determine whether we're able to defeat Trump—who right now is favored to win reelection.1

To ensure that we are able to fight on all cylinders in 2019 and defeat Trump in 2020, we still need to sign up 1,390 weekly donors by midnight. Will you chip in $3 weekly now?

Yes, I'll chip in weekly to be ready for the epic battles we'll face in 2019.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

MoveOn, gone?

This is Senator Kamala Harris from California. I am asking you to join me for a moment to imagine what America would be like if there was no MoveOn.

Hi, MoveOn member,

This is Senator Kamala Harris from California. I am asking you to join me for a moment to imagine what America would be like if there was no MoveOn.

No MoveOn helping lead the fight every step of the way and organizing huge days of action to oppose Donald Trump's dangerous agenda.

No MoveOn to help activists make hundreds of thousands of phone calls to Congress to save the Affordable Care Act.

No MoveOn to help to win the biggest midterm election victory since 1974 by recruiting thousands of volunteers, sending millions of text messages to swing voters, and developing new innovations (including some that were five times as effective, dollar for dollar, as television ads).

A world without MoveOn is truly frightening, right?

I can't imagine it. Fortunately, I don't have to—and you don't have to, either! But only if we all help keep MoveOn strong.

With just four days left before 2019, MoveOn still needs just 1,200 people to sign up as new weekly donors. That's why I'm writing to you today with a simple request:

Eddie, if you can't imagine a world without MoveOn—because you see what MoveOn does every single day to fight for our shared values—will you please chip in a few bucks a week to help keep MoveOn strong and fighting in the new year? ($3, or whatever you can afford, will go a long way.)

Yes, Senator Harris! I'll make a weekly donation and help keep MoveOn strong and fighting in 2019.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

As we enter what will likely be the most important two political years of our lifetimes for setting the future direction of our country, I believe that MoveOn is needed more than ever. MoveOn and its members are always there fighting on the front lines. And, in these especially tough times, when what we do really counts, I am heartened to know that.

Earlier this year, I partnered with MoveOn members to stop Trump's family separation policy. Your record-shattering protests, with hundreds of thousands of people in attendance, forced Trump to end his inhumane policy on family separation. While too many families still remain separated, and there is so much more to do, I know that without MoveOn, things would be far worse for far more families. I am so thankful for what this community has done to, quite literally, save lives.

This past election cycle, I partnered with MoveOn members to win back control of the House of Representatives and put a real check on the worst abuses of the Trump administration. As I travelled across the country, I saw the incredible work that MoveOn members did to elect inspiring progressive champions. You helped send a new generation of progressive leaders to Congress! MoveOn members played a huge role in this victory, and you should be incredibly proud.

But we cannot stop now. There is still so much to do: As you read this message, unaccompanied children are held in detention centers, California families who have tragically lost everything in wildfires are still waiting for help, and, because of Trump's belligerent government shutdown, hundreds of thousands of federal workers are unsure if, or when, they will be paid. Workers like Bonita Williams, a janitor at the State Department, who was planning to buy her grandchildren a bike for Christmas; instead, she's worried about paying her rent and electricity and being able to stay in her home.

Looking to 2019, I'm resolved to fight for all of these folks and for our country's collective future. To move this country forward, we absolutely must win back the White House in 2020. And we absolutely must make progress on infrastructure, health care, climate change, and more.

I believe that to accomplish these things, we need a powerful MoveOn. I have been proud to stand with this community in some of the most important fights of our lifetimes. And now, I'm asking you, Eddie: Will you chip in $3 a week to help keep MoveOn strong in 2019?

Yes, I'll chip in weekly and help keep MoveOn strong and fighting in 2019.

No, I'm sorry, I can't chip in weekly.

Thanks for all you do.

–Senator Kamala Harris

Last chance: Have you seen "Fahrenheit 11/9" yet?

Michael Moore here. I just wanted to wanted to give you one last chance to a copy of my movie, Fahrenheit, 11/9, from MoveOn.

Dear MoveOn member,

Michael Moore here. I just wanted to wanted to give you one last chance to get a copy of my movie, "Fahrenheit, 11/9," from MoveOn.

Earlier this year, I premiered "Fahrenheit 11/9," a movie that I started thinking about in the early morning hours of 11/9/16—that fateful day two years ago when our country was thrust into the most acute crisis of our lifetimes with the election of Donald J. Trump.

I knew that things would get dark with Trump in the White House, but I could never have imagined the depths to which we have plunged in the two years since. The Muslim ban, Charlottesville, family separation, incessant daily (hourly!) lies from the White House … these have been some of the most dangerous times in our history, with an autocratic, malignant narcissist at the wheel.

But at the same time, a grassroots Resistance has grown to fight back, and that is what I wanted to capture in "Fahrenheit 11/9"—not just how bad things have gotten, but what regular people across the country are doing to stop it.

MoveOn members have been at the center of that Resistance, flexing their political muscle to put a stop to Trump's worst impulses and defend our democracy.

"Fahrenheit 11/9" is out on DVD, and this is your last chance to get a special-edition DVD of my film by making a donation to MoveOn—which MoveOn will use to fight Trump every single day.

Do you want a copy of my new movie, "Fahrenheit, 11/9?" Just click here!

In the film, I take you to my hometown of Flint to meet people whose water was poisoned. You will meet kids I know and their terrified parents.

I go Parkland to meet Emma Gonzalez, David Hogg, and all the other incredible high school students who organized in the wake of the shooting at their school.

I go to New York City to go door to door with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the army of volunteers—and MoveOn members!—who helped her topple one of the most senior Democrats in Congress on her way to becoming one of the shining lights of the incoming House of Representatives.

"Fahrenheit 11/9" isn't just a movie about how awful Trump is. We all know how awful Trump is. It's a movie about the grassroots Resistance movement that led Democrats to win back the House in November with the most diverse and progressive class of new members ever—and a sign of where we go from here to fight back and rebuild.

Click here to order your special-edition copy of "Fahrenheit 11/9" and help support MoveOn's ongoing work to stop Trump and defend our democracy.

The next two years will be a real test for our movement. Democrats will control of the House—with subpoena power and the ability to start impeachment proceedings. We need to continue to build the Resistance every day. We must fight harder than ever in 2019, and prepare for a long, knock-down, drag-out, critical, democracy-saving election in 2020.

In "Fahrenheit 11/9," I try to chart the beginning of a path to achieve these goals—but now it is up to all of us to make them happen.

I am in awe of the work that MoveOn and millions of MoveOn members continue to do to drive the Resistance, and I am so happy to celebrate the DVD release of this film with you.

Click here to chip in to MoveOn and get your own special-edition copy.

Back in the summer of 2016, I predicted—warned—that Trump would win, even when the pundits said that simply wasn't possible. And, in spite of his unpopularity in many parts of America, I am taking nothing for granted when I warn everyone again that Trump could win a second term. But I certainly don't believe it's a guarantee this time. Not if we rise up, together.

Thanks for all you do.

–Michael Moore

Start a petition to the 116th United States Congress

Use MoveOn's free digital tools to launch a petition and make your voice heard.

Dear Eddie,

On November 6, we took back the House.

Now it's time to take back our country—and I want you to have a seat at the table. When the new Congress is seated, it's absolutely vital that they take swift action to legislate a bold progressive agenda, and we need your help to make that happen.

Eddie, will you start a MoveOn petition right now to help set the 2019 congressional agenda? Your voice determined the outcome of this election. Now it's time to make sure your priorities are reflected in Washington.

It's absolutely imperative that congressional Democrats move quickly to enact badly needed oversight over every arm of the Trump administration, take meaningful steps to protect those on the front lines of Trump's attacks, and begin proceedings to correct the catastrophic damage that has been inflicted on our government and our global reputation. This is not the time for grandstanding or equivocating. Democrats need to know that their grassroots army is watching ... and that we expect results.

Eddie, will you help set the 2019 congressional agenda by starting your MoveOn petition today? The whole process takes about five minutes, and you'll feel great knowing you took action on an issue that matters to you.

MoveOn's petition tool is easy to use, with step-by-step instructions, sample templates, and prompts. You can even share your new petition over social media, which will help immediately inspire your friends and family. We're here if you have any questions during your campaign and will be among the first to congratulate you for a campaign victory!

We saw on November 6 that change is possible—and not only that, it's imperative. We can't stop now, Eddie. Be a part of this moment, and make sure your voice is heard in the halls of Congress in January. Start your MoveOn petition right now.

Thanks for all you do.

FW: I've seen shutdowns before. This time is different.

Donald Trump's government shutdown has created total chaos in Washington. And let's be clear: This shutdown is 100% Trump's fault.

Hi, Eddie—I just wanted to make sure you saw my message from the other day.

Dear MoveOn member,

Donald Trump's government shutdown has created total chaos in Washington. And let's be clear: This shutdown is 100% Trump's fault. He says that he's "proud" of the shutdown, and that it will last "for a very long time."1

Earlier this past week, the White House was signaling that Trump would accept a bipartisan funding deal. But then, he threw a temper tantrum at the 11th hour this Thursday (while senators were already on airplanes flying home from Washington, D.C.; they've since returned to deal with this Trump-created disaster).

We cannot cave in to Trump's madness. We need to rise up, right now, to demand that lawmakers on both sides put an end to this shutdown—and to make sure Trump bears 100% of the blame.

Will you chip in $3 to help MoveOn run emergency digital ads featuring Trump as a crybaby in Washington, flood Congress and Mar-a-Lago with calls this week and beyond, continue protesting in Washington, and more?

Never in the history of my 50 years in American political life has there been a time like this, when a bipartisan compromise was reached by Congress, but a president balked and unilaterally shut down the government.

And make no mistake: Trump doesn't give a fig about the safety and security of Americans. His reasoning for putting up a wall is based on a crisis that doesn't exist.

We cannot let Trump act like a crybaby who throws a fit when he doesn't get his toy, and we can't let him be the bully who holds America hostage. We don't encourage crybabies, and we don't let bullies win.

We must make sure that this shutdown ends with not one dime for Trump's wall—and make sure that the American people know exactly who is to blame for this shutdown: Donald J. Trump.

Will you chip in $3 to help make sure that Democrats and Republicans end Trump's shutdown without giving him one dime for his racist, wasteful border wall?

Eddie, as you read this message, nearly 54,000 Customs and Border Protection agents, 42,000 Coast Guard employees, 53,000 TSA agents, thousands of air traffic controllers and aviation and railroad safety inspectors, 17,000 correctional officers, 14,000 FBI agents, 4,000 Drug Enforcement Administration agents, and some 5,000 firefighters with the U.S. Forest Service are all working without pay.

I can tell you from experience—I ran the Department of Labor during the 1996 shutdown—that most of these public servants will report for duty, because they care about the missions they're supposed to be upholding. But going without pay will strain their family budgets to the point that some, inevitably, will not be able to carry out those missions.

We absolutely cannot let Trump shut down the government to get his way. If we put up a fight, history (and MoveOn's past success in organizing during shutdown fights) shows that we can stop him.

Which is why I'm asking: Will you chip in $3 and help MoveOn act right now to reopen the government without Trump getting one dime for his hateful, wasteful border wall?

Yes, Bob, I'm in!

So far, House Speaker-to-be Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer have been strong in their opposition to Trump's wall, but if Democrats get cold feet, they could decide to cut a bad deal at any time.

MoveOn members have often won shutdown fights—going back to the Bush years—securing full or near-full victories in many cases, without concessions. But that doesn't happen automatically or every time. Last January, Democrats caved to Trump in a government shutdown.2 We can't let that happen this time.

When we do win, it happens because of grassroots activism. The kind of grassroots activism that MoveOn members do every day. Democrats need to know that we have their backs and that we will support them while they work to force Trump to accept a bipartisan deal with no money for his racist, wasteful border wall. Are you in? Will you chip in $3?

Yes, I'm in! I'll chip in help make sure that Democrats stand strong and demand an end to this government shutdown without Trump getting one dime for his racist, wasteful border wall.

MoveOn is running digital ads featuring a graphic of Trump as a toddler throwing a temper tantrum. To drive the meme into the mainstream media, they even projected this image on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in Washington, D.C. on Friday night:

MoveOn is driving calls to Congress and to Mar-a-Lago. And they're gearing up for protests in Washington, D.C.

If Trump thinks that he can bully us into giving him $5.7 billion for his racist, wasteful border wall, he has another thing coming. It's time to fight back.

MoveOn staff are working overtime this holiday weekend and beyond to turn up the heat. And after an exhausting and expensive election year, MoveOn needs our help to do it.

Will you chip in $3 to fund MoveOn's emergency government shutdown work today?

Thanks for all you do.

–Robert Reich

A historic embarrassment

We're writing to you from Washington, D.C., where Donald Trump is throwing a temper tantrum—threatening to shut down the government at midnight tonight because he isn't getting funding for his racist, wasteful border wall.

Dear MoveOn member,

We're writing to you from Washington, D.C., where Donald Trump is throwing a temper tantrum—threatening to shut down the government at midnight tonight because he isn't getting funding for his racist, wasteful border wall.1

That means denying paychecks to hundreds of thousands of hardworking federal employees and their families over the holiday season, wreaking havoc with the stock market, and shuttering vital government services that families rely on.

The Senate passed a bipartisan agreement to keep the government open, and the House was about to send it to Trump's desk for a signature last night. But then, while scores of senators were on airplanes, flying home from Washington, Trump threw a temper tantrum and said he'll veto the bipartisan bill.2

So, now, we're on the way to the third federal government shutdown in the 23 months since Trump's been in office.

MoveOn members are ready to fight—to reopen the government, to stand firm against Trump's racist, wasteful border wall, and to demand Congress fight back against Trump's attacks on our communities. Will you fight with us?

Click here to chip in $3, or whatever you can afford, and join the fight to stop Trump's racist, wasteful border wall.

We need Democrats to stand strong against Trump's bullying, and we need Republicans, many of whom already voted to keep the government open, to call out Trump's petty and foolish ploy for what it is.

MoveOn members have already been building pressure. Now, we need to be ready to launch an emergency campaign to prevent the shutdown and stop Trump's wall.

Earlier this week, it looked like there wouldn't be an end-of-year crisis in 2018, but now that a shutdown is imminent, we need your help to make sure that we have the resources to push back against Trump's dangerous tantrum, keep the government open if we can, and if we can't, be darned sure that Trump doesn't get one penny for his awful wall.

Will you support our emergency campaign? With your help, we work to prevent a shutdown until the final moments, or else make sure it ends with Congress standing firm and rejecting Trump's tantrum over his racist, wasteful border wall.

Click here to chip in $3, or whatever you can afford, to stop the shutdown and say no to Trump's racist, wasteful border wall.

Here's the image we've been blasting far and wide to ensure everyone knows just how ridiculous Trump's antics are, and the devastating effects it could have. We plan to project it onto government buildings and could expand our digital ads during a shutdown, with your help.

We've seen leadership from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to say no to the racist wall and from members of the Democratic caucus who are standing firm.

We've even seen leadership from Republicans ready to pass a continuing resolution for the sake of keeping the government running.

But what we're seeing from Trump is the kind of antics that would be laughable if they weren't so devastating—to working families, to folks relying on government services, and to the very functioning of our government.

We need to make sure that members of both parties stand firm and speak out, so Trump backs down. But to keep up that kind of pressure on both parties during the holiday week, MoveOn will need serious resources.

Will you help prevent the government shutdown if we can, or else make sure it ends with Congress standing firm and rejecting Trump's tantrum over his racist, wasteful border wall?

Click here to chip in $3, or whatever you can afford, to stop the government shutdown and say no to Trump's racist, wasteful border wall.

In addition to projections, we'll be driving calls—not easy during a holiday week—to members of Congress, as well as to Mar-a-Lago, where Trump may even vacation, while federal workers are forced to worry if they'll be able to pay their bills at the end of the month and the start of the new year. And we'll be elevating the voices of the folks most impacted by the shutdown.

We already have more than 100,000 MoveOn members who have added their name to a petition with our partners at America's Voice, with a clear message that we will deliver to members of Congress: No money for Trump's racist wall.

We need to make sure that Democrats know we have their backs, push Republicans to stand against Trump, a babyish, would-be tyrant, and create pressure to force Trump to back down.

Please pitch in $3, or whatever you can afford, right now.

It's time to shut down Trump's crybaby tantrum. And with your help, we will.

Thanks for all you do.

Limited-edition copy of my latest movie

The first two years of the Trump administration were so appalling, so racist, so unhinged … I knew I had to make a movie about it.

Dear MoveOn member,

Hi! This is Michael Moore, and I make movies. Maybe you've seen some of them, such as "Bowling for Columbine" and "Fahrenheit 9/11."

Like any filmmaker, I make movies to tell stories and entertain. But I also make movies to make change, to inspire people to get involved, and to encourage people to vote.

That's why I'm partnering with MoveOn for the DVD release of my latest film, "Fahrenheit 11/9!" And for a limited time, you can get your own MoveOn-edition of "Fahrenheit 11/9" by making a donation to MoveOn, which will use your money to help stop Trump's agenda.

Click here to order your limited-edition copy of "Fahrenheit 11/9" from MoveOn—and your money will be used to stop Trump's agenda and defeat him in 2020!

The first two years of the Trump administration were so appalling, so racist, so unhinged … I knew I had to make a movie about it. The Muslim ban. Charlottesville. The attacks on the free press. Parkland.

But who wants to sit and watch Donald Trump for two hours?

That's why "Fahrenheit 11/9" is about far more than just Trump. It's about how we got here—and how the Resistance movement is bringing America back from the brink.

In the movie, I go to my hometown of Flint to meet people whose water was poisoned. I meet the kids and their terrified parents.

I go to Parkland to meet Emma Gonzalez, David Hogg, and all the other incredible high school students who organized in the wake of the shooting at their school.

I go to New York City to go door to door with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the army of volunteers who helped her topple one of the most senior Democrats in Congress on her way to becoming one of the shining lights of the incoming House of Representatives.

"Fahrenheit 11/9" isn't just a movie about how awful Trump is. We all know how awful Trump is. It's a movie about the grassroots Resistance movement that led Democrats to win back Congress in November with the most diverse and progressive class of new members ever.

This movie is about fighting back. And in fact, you can fight back right now by by ordering a limited-edition copy of "Fahrenheit 11/9" from MoveOn. This way, your money will go to help them hire organizers, flood the streets with protesters, and pay for ads to help end the Trump presidency.

So what do you say? I promise you'll love the movie—New York Magazine just named it one of the Top 10 Movies of the Year—and I double promise you that MoveOn will use your donation well.

I'm counting on you to stand with me in support of millions of domestic workers in America. Add your name to call for equal workplace protections for domestic workers.

Dear MoveOn member,

There are nearly 2 million domestic or in-home workers in America—nannies, housekeepers and home health care workers—who are excluded from basic labor protections. That means many workers face low or no pay and discrimination or harassment at work with no repercussions. The majority of these workers are women and people of color.

That's why Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal and I are partnering up to introduce the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights in the next session of Congress. If our bill is enacted into law, we can protect some of the most vulnerable and exploited workers in America.

Add your name to stand with me and Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal in support of workplace protections for nearly 2 million domestic workers in our country.

I'm counting on you to stand with me in support of millions of domestic workers in America. Add your name to call for equal workplace protections for domestic workers.

The work of domestic workers is so incredibly important, both as caregivers and as organizers. We need to speak the truth: these workers are too often undervalued and under-appreciated, and don't have the same workplace protections as other workers. It's not right.

If passed, the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights will:

  • Close legal loopholes excluding domestic workers from certain federal labor and civil rights laws
  • Create new benefits and protections for domestic workers
  • Encourage innovative solutions to address the unique challenges of domestic work; and
  • Create new tools to ensure that these rights are real and that workers can exercise their rights without fear.

This fall, Americans elected a historically diverse Congress to represent all Americans—so I believe there's no better time to pass this legislation.

In America, we all deserve basic rights, safety and dignity in the workplace. By fighting for fairness and equal treatment, we are fighting for the best of who we are as a country.

Thank you.

Sen. Schumer: No Trump Border Wall

Sen. Schumer needs to hear loud and clear that we will not accept a single dollar for Trump's wall.

Dear MoveOn member,

The Trump shutdown is coming, just in time for the holidays.

Trump is still holding funding hostage for nine federal departments, including pay for over 800,000 workers, as he throws a tantrum to get funding for his hateful and wasteful border wall.1 But now, he's backing off his demand of $5 billion this year and asking Senator Schumer to negotiate a billion dollars or more that Trump would use to pursue his devastating anti-immigrant agenda..

Call 1-844-354-9898 now to tell Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer: No compromises. No funding for Trump's border wall or increases in detention beds or border agents.

No one wants a wall. Not voters who turned out in massive waves for candidates who oppose Trump's deportation machine and cruel attacks on immigrants. Not border security experts who say the wall won't work to stop border crossings.2 Not the American people, who have said loud and clear they don't want a shutdown over Trump's border wall.3

Yet, in an effort to compromise with Republicans, Sen. Schumer already agreed to $1.6 billion in "border security" funds which would include wall-like structures.4

Sen. Schumer needs to hear loud and clear that we will not accept a single dollar for Trump's wall. Call him now at 1-844-354-9898 to demand he stay strong and not give in to Trump's tantrum.

No one wants a government shutdown, especially not during the holiday season. Trump's attacks on immigrants and asylum-seekers have no place in the federal budget, and it is on Trump to keep the government open by signing a clean continuing resolution.

Negotiations are happening now. Call Sen. Schumer at 1-844-354-9898 to say you want no compromises. No increases in funding for detention beds, agents, or Trump's hateful and wasteful border wall. Call now, before it is too late.

Thanks for all you do.

Here's how you can help the humanitarian crisis in Yemen

As the U.S.-supported war continues, Yemen's health care system has been pushed to the brink of collapse. Over half of the country's medical facilities are closed, and Yemeni families trying to travel to one of the remaining clinics must traverse checkpoints, landmines, and snipers just to reach a hospital.

Dear MoveOn member,

The humanitarian crisis unfolding in Yemen is shocking, and the need for aid to spare the lives of 14 million Yemeni citizens now facing famine becomes more desperate by the day.1

To date, tens of thousands of people have been killed in the ongoing U.S.-backed war in Yemen, and 85,000 children under the age of five have died from starvation.2,3 The magnitude of the crisis is staggering.

MoveOn is working every day to end U.S. military support for this moral atrocity—including pushing senators to take a historic vote last Thursday, a critical step toward addressing this crisis, on the same day warring parties agreed to a crucial ceasefire.4 But Yemenis can't wait that long for the much-needed humanitarian aid.

Doctors Without Borders has been on the ground in Yemen for years, providing critical support and medical care for millions of people who need it most.5 They are continuing to provide direct aid as the conflict rages on, and they need our help.

Can you make a tax-deductible donation now to Doctors Without Borders? 100% of your donation will go to their work helping the Yemeni people.

As the U.S.-supported war continues, Yemen's health care system has been pushed to the brink of collapse. Over half of the country's medical facilities are closed, and Yemeni families trying to travel to one of the remaining clinics must traverse checkpoints, landmines, and snipers just to reach a hospital—and only those with enough funds to pay for medicine can even attempt the journey.6

To address this desperate need for medical aid, Doctors Without Borders has significantly expanded their work in Yemen and now operates 12 health centers and provides support to 20 more across the country.7

In 2018 alone, they sent nearly 850 tons of medical supplies and equipment to Yemen, and volunteer physicians from all over the world working with Doctors Without Borders are working in hospitals on the front lines of the war, treating hundreds of thousands of patients.8

This is lifesaving work, and no organization is better prepared to lead than Doctors Without Borders, which has been providing aid in war-torn countries for over 50 years.

Eddie, will you make a tax-deductible donation to Doctors Without Borders? Click here now.

In the past few years, MoveOn members have donated millions of dollars to provide much-needed assistance to victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

We supported residents in Flint during the water crisis.

We supported immigrant families being separated on the border.

And we helped provide relief to the victims of the worst wildfire in California history.

Now, we have a chance to support an organization providing lifesaving relief in the world's worst humanitarian crisis.9

Will you join us and make a tax-deductible donation to Doctors Without Borders? Together, we can help save lives.

Thanks for all you do.

Sign the petition: Shut Tornillo down

More than 1,800 children are still being detained. Will you sign this petition and demand the Tornillo facility be shut down immediately?

Dear MoveOn member,

The federal detention facility in Tornillo, TX, was supposed to be temporary. But six months after it was created, the prison has been expanded three times. And now, there are more than 1,800 children who have been separated from their families being detained there—for weeks or months.1 The Trump administration manufactured this crisis by slowing the process of reuniting families, causing thousands of children to be incarcerated for long periods of time. We cannot allow this to continue.

Will you sign this petition and demand the Tornillo facility be shut down and that the children be released to their relatives or sponsors immediately?

The federal prison in Tornillo, Texas, must be shut down, and all of the children must be released to relatives or sponsors. No similar prisons can be built. Imprisoning the children is unnecessary, cruel, and traumatic, causing long-lasting harm.

The children in Tornillo are being intentionally separated from their families by the government, creating more hoops for sponsors to jump through. Meanwhile, these children are being detained for weeks or months. Many children crossed the border unaccompanied to come to live with a relative, and some crossed with an aunt or uncle as their caregiver and were forcibly separated from them and sent to detention.

None of the children have been accused of any crime. They are being cruelly used as bait to lure relatives who might claim them but could then be deported themselves.

This prison is a disgrace and is contrary to everything our country is supposed to stand for. The Trump administration opened the prison in the Texas desert as a model for a string of prisons it wants to build along our border to house asylum seekers and other immigrants. If allowed to continue, it would set a dangerous precedent and could lead us in a direction that history teaches us we must not go.

Click here to add your name to this petition, and then pass it along to your friends.

Thank you.

I'm terrified. Here's why.

I want to be honest with you that I'm still terrified. Our country is still very much in crisis. There's a huge danger of normalizing the daily lies, hatefulness, and cruelty emanating from Washington.

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

I want to be honest with you that I'm still terrified. Our country is still very much in crisis. There's a huge danger of normalizing the daily lies, hatefulness, and cruelty emanating from Washington.

That's why I'm writing to you today about Inequality Media, the nonprofit organization I founded that provides clear, factual, and engaging analysis on the economy, the environment, civil rights, education, health care, the federal budget, and our democratic institutions—and what people can do to make America work for all of us, not just the wealthy few. Inequality Media produces the videos you may have seen me make with MoveOn and with other partners.

We have a huge reach: With nearly 4.7 million social media followers across Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, we on average connect with more than 14 million people a week.

I'm proud of this work. Time and again, we have helped progressives shift the debate—and win—on critical issues. And at a time when those in power are spreading dangerous and hateful lies, our mission is more important than ever.

MoveOn members have been a part of Inequality Media from the beginning. And we need your help now.

Would you consider making a tax-deductible gift of $3 today to support my nonprofit organization, Inequality Media? Click here now to chip in.

Videos are our bread and butter, and to date we've made over 220 that have been viewed over 450 million times. More than 70 of those videos have been made in collaboration with MoveOn—most recently on the importance of Medicare for All, how Donald Trump has betrayed the working class, and why Republicans have surrendered their constitutional duty to rein in Trump.

In addition to our videos, we also post timely information on our Facebook page and stream live discussions and interviews with leading progressive thinkers and leaders.

Because of the support of individuals like you, we've been able to reach hundreds of millions of people with clear, compelling videos and social media posts about what's happening to our democracy, our society, and our economy—and the big ideas that can put us back on track.

And the feedback we're getting suggests our work is hitting the mark: Viewers share that our videos are being used in high school classrooms, are encouraging and helpful to voters, and are reaching even conservatives who are grateful for the information. And our recent video, "How to Prevent Future Trumps," just received a Shorty Award for Social Good in the category of civic engagement.

But we can't do this alone. We need your help to continue to produce videos, analyses, interviews, and much more.

Will you make a tax-deductible donation of $3 to Inequality Media? Click here now.

My colleagues and I at Inequality Media are more committed than ever to strengthening our democracy and making an economy that works for the many rather than the few.

In 2019, we're already planning videos on how to get money out politics, protect our democracy, and expand economic prosperity. Your donation will directly support these projects and more.

In these difficult times, you, our viewers, have been a source of hope and inspiration to us. Together, we must continue to reclaim our democracy and rebuild the country.

Please help support Inequality Media's work. Click here now to make a tax-deductible donation of $3—or whatever you can afford.

Thanks for all you do.

BREAKING: 56 Senators vote to pass Yemen resolution

Senators have chosen to move toward ending U.S. complicity in the Saudi-led attacks in Yemen, where the humanitarian crisis is growing worse by the day and an estimated 85,000 children have already died.

Dear MoveOn member,

There's two huge news updates for you from our campaign to end U.S. military involvement in the Yemen conflict.

✨ First news highlight: The Senate just overwhelmingly voted to officially pass the Yemen War Powers Resolution, introduced by Senators Bernie Sanders, Mike Lee, and Chris Murphy.1

Senators have chosen to move toward ending U.S. complicity in the Saudi-led attacks in Yemen, where the humanitarian crisis is growing worse by the day and an estimated 85,000 children have already died.

Unfortunately, the House refused to move forward because of a measure that blocked a House vote on the Yemen conflict—and specifically because Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer chose not to whip Democrats against this measure. This was a failure that shouldn't be repeated again.

With this momentum from a strong bipartisan Senate vote and a new Democratic Congress in three weeks, we have a real chance to finally end U.S. involvement in this war in January.

And let's be clear: this vote—with 56 senators voting in favor—is a huge grassroots victory powered by a broad movement, including MoveOn members like you. Check out what we accomplished together.

✨ Second news highlight: On the eve of the Senate vote, the U.N. successfully brokered a ceasefire in the port city of Hodeida, which is vital to getting aid supplies into Yemen for the millions of people that are suffering.2

This same ceasefire agreement could have happened nearly two years ago, saving tens of thousands of lives.

As we've said from the beginning: Passing the war powers resolutions and holding Saudi Arabia accountable is not just to get the U.S. out of this unauthorized conflict. The external pressure that this will create, and has created, is vital to push the warring parties toward a peace agreement and an end to this horrific war.

And there is still work to do to ensure Congress continues to build this pressure in January.

When I sent a breaking news email last week following the huge preliminary vote in the Senate, I noted how far we had come in this fight. When this was a fringe issue, we laid 5,000 flowers in front of the Capitol Building to garner attention to the unfolding humanitarian crisis claiming the lives of thousands of children.

This was at a time when few in the media or D.C. could have imagined what happened today on the floor of the U.S. Senate was even possible.

With 56 Senators voting for the resolution, things are finally shifting. We have momentum on our side to pressure the warring parties—especially the Saudi coalition—to stop the war in Yemen and to build out a different type of U.S. global policy.

Want to support our work to build a progressive foreign policy? For too long, our global policies have been based around the interests of weapons manufacturers, detrimental alliances with those who are committing human rights abuses, and xenophobia and anti-Muslim racism that scapegoats some of the most vulnerable communities in the country. Now, we have a chance to start changing that. Will you stand with us and start a weekly contribution today?

Yes, I'll chip in $3 a week.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a weekly donation.
