Four for November

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a ...(fill in some kind of hopefully positive adjective) November.  I am still riding out the end of my cold which is a cough, but it's getting better as long as the stressors can be calmed.  Here are the four images plus haiku for November.  The first one is from earlier in the project.

They try learning

to speak with civility and

respect.  A big task.

 

Sailing in the light

trail of a full moon woke me

up quite happily.

Today a surprise

arrived. No one yet knows what 

to think, exactly.

 

The song continues;

day breaks and the moon ripens.

Pay attention now.

Four for October

Hello everyone!  October was a challenging month and at the end of it a very nasty cold came along, but here are the four images, plus haiku; at the onset I thought they would all be drawn from my train trip, but other realities cropped up.  The theme remains the same...mending and healing. 

The next workshop

will be "what to do about

all this erosion."

There is the egret

wading in the cool waters;

a respite from fire.

Her heart is broken

and her boxing gloves are on.

Be kind.  Let her be.

Who is going to

teach us to use words better?

I nominate: birds.

Of the many things

I found today, nothing beats

waking up alive.

Waters flood, fires burn

Mother Nature takes her turn

Run for cover, pray.

I thought it was just

a wee stubby stick but then

it started talking.

Four for August

Hello everyone. In July, I outlined a six-month plan to do a fund-raising campaign. Each month I will create four 5 x 7"watercolors on the theme of mending/healing.   Prints of these will be available for $20, of which 50% will go as a donation to the ACLU of Northern California. (postage is extra) My particular concern is for immigrants' rights issues.  Today I sent off $60!!!  A BIG thank you! July's four

Hello everyone.  Referring back to my last post, in which I outlined a plan for the next six months, here are the 4 watercolors, with their explanatory haiku, created for the July offering.

Tired of argument

all ears fly off to the school

called Listen in Heart.

and elephant ears

fly off on prevailing winds.

This is a problem.

The ears mingling on

the planet of listening

acclimate slowly.

So hard to listen.

Words shoot like bullets from an

unprincipled heart.

Each 5" x 7" print (on archival paper) costs $20.  Half of this will go to the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California  www.aclunc.org.  I am particularly interested in supporting immigrants rights in agricultural areas.

A plan

Hello everyone!  I have been hatching a new plan which represents my small effort towards addressing the situation my country is in.  For six months I am going to do a series of 5" x 7" watercolors, hoping to post one (or more?) a week, on the theme of mending and healing.  The plan is to sell prints of these images for $20 per. I will donate fifty percent of the earnings,  for six months, (July 1- December 1, 2017) to the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) of Northern California.  I am particularly interested in helping with immigration issues. The ACLU is a respected organization which directly assists people whose civil rights are threatened.

To make things simple if you're interested, email me (the address is in my blog profile); I'll work out the shipping costs, send you an invoice with Paypal instructions, and then send you the print(s) as soon as the transaction is complete.


In addition,  an explanatory haiku will accompany each image:

"Tired of argument
Ears fly off to school
called Listen in Heart."

Hello from home

Hello everyone!   My experience at the World of Threads Festival,  mentioned in my last post,so long ago, was wonderful.  Then came the election and all my words disappeared.  Recently however, they have been returning.  I will just say hello for now, and send love to you.  ❤️.  No promises, but there may be more.
