HALLOWEEN!!

Halloween is so fun!  By the time parents get their kids dressed for the weekday parties, the school parties, and then the actual holiday...........most of us have had it!  I think with the chaos of four kids, buying the candy, and playing hair beautician and make-up artists the day is right up there with Christmas!  All kidding aside, it is fun to see the excitement in thier eyes, and all the waiting, and planning they do for months ahead to get their costume "just right"!

Turning Two, Cupcakes, and Tow Trucks!!!!!

I am convinced that some little boys, namely Grant will do ANYTHING TO GET A TOW TRUCK IN HIS DRIVEWAY ON HIS BIRTHDAY!!!  Our day started at 6am, singing a fun and cheerful version of "good morning to you" (a song my mom sang to me everyday of my life as she woke me for school) and Happy Birthday to you.....to our little man Grant!  Two years ago Grant entered into this beautiful world, brought here by his birth mother Libby who gave him life and her sweaty hands and feet--which we adore and smile at!!  From his sisters he has learned how to jump off the coffee table, open the garage door, pull everything out of the fridge, and brush his teeth!  Although today was payback for Lucy as he was cleaning the toilet with her toothbrush!!  After we sang to him this morning, he instinctevely ran downstairs and found his birthday cupcakes that the girls and I had made him last night........and brings them to me, saying num-num  num-num, twoooo, twooo!!  It was so cute:)  After we compromised on a birthday bagel, and some birthday cheerios instead,  we then opened some presents!

Then after taking all the kids on our rounds of drop offs, Grant is playing in the car while I put something in the house and locks himself in the car!  I tried to coax him out with toys, candy, tried hand signs to get hime to unlock the car door.  Meanwhile he is just rockin out, playing with my cell phone, crawling back to Lucy's seat and reading books.  He is fully aware that Mom is locked out, and HE'S LOVIN IT!!  Long story made shorter............they shouldn't sell AAA to mom's, cuz they'll use it!  After 25 minutes the big noisy truck with every contraption known the man arrived into our driveway:)  It took about 5 seconds for the door to be unlocked...........at that point the fumes coming out of my van would have curled your eyelashes, he had been "busies than I thought" for that 30 minutes in the car!! He was so excited to get out and see the truck in the driveway, and could not stop saying........WOW, VROOOOOOM, WOW, VROOOOOOOOOM
We had to stay outside until the truck drove completely out of sight and was gone:)  Our little star had the best birthday treat ever--and even planned it himself!

WE LOVE YOU GRANT RYLAN!!  HERE'S TO A LIFETIME OF ADVENTURES AND MISCHIEF MAKING!!!

Driving Miss Daisy!!

On Sunday September 20th, 2009 we drove our new friend "Daisy" home from Portland to join our family!!

Daisy was a surprise to the kids.  Thinking they would be thrilled, I had them all get their jammies on, and then told them I had a story to read them.  I pulled out the book on Guniea pigs and they listened to one page (like 10 seconds worth).  Then having all these images in my mind how excited they would be and how they would squeel and scream.......lucy say's, "are you reading this book because we are getting a guniea pig? Because I don't want one, I want a REAL PIG".  Ellie adds, "I want a hamster".  Millie ends with, "I don't want any animals".  So I say, "well I guess I should take the sweet little guniea pig up in Ellie's room back?  At that point the screaming, running, and sheer delight that I had hoped for and expected came shining through:)
Daisy has been the center of their world since Sunday!  Grant is now calling her "Daaaisaaaay"??  The first two days she was "buppy" meaning "puppy" to him!!

We are OBSESSSED with headbands!!!!

Grant will find any headband anywhere in the house!  Doesn't matter what style, color, size, and he will put them on as "halo's" or headbands, but none the less can't get enough of them.........  I'm thinking this could pose a problem in kindergarten?????

Thunderbolt!

My mom has always called Grant "thunderbolt" and it has always seemed fitting.  The boy has no limits and wants no limits!

Grant can go anywhere on his “pull the chair to what I want system”  he can now open the fridge door, and throw every item onto the floor, dump drinks, work the ice and water machine, and scale the kitchen cabinets when I have removed all the chairs!!!!!!!!  I am so busy with him!!!  He will dance on the island and has jumped off of it a few times!  Last night the shower door was a little off the track and he PULLED THE ENITIRE DOOR OFF THE SHOWER AND IT FELL ON HIM WHILE HE WAS IN THE WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Of course no harm to the boy of iron!  It will be a wonderful adventurous life ahead.........

Let's try this again!

Ok, I can't believe it's been 9 months since I have blogged.  Our family has been very busy and had many adjustments and changes to adapt to.  Ellie is now in 4th grade and loving being the "big kid" at school.  She feels like a pro having been at the school for 5 years now!!  Lucy is in 2nd grade, and continues to love art, music, and anything she can use her creativity with ...........And I mean anything......bandaids, first aid bandages, paper, ribbons, toiliet paper etc.....Millie is now in preschool 5 mornings a week:)  She loves it, and yes, mom loves it too!!  She is learning to write her name, recognize letters, numbers etc....Grant is home with me, and I love the extra time I have alone with him, to watch him discover about everything.  He can climb the cabinets, open the fridge, scale the center island in the kitchen, throw, bite, hit, and give the sweetest loves and kisses ever:)  He is our PASSIONATE one about EVERYHTING!!

I continue to keep the homework, carpool (three kids, three different schools) rollin, housework, and life running as I am so good at doing.  I am definately a "detailer" "type A" but hey, I have to be organzied wtih this crew.  Lucy and Ellie were in a play this summer "high school musical 2" this would explain Lucy's grown up look!
