It's strange, the lack of finality with which this chapter has ended. Nevertheless, say goodbye and embrace the new chapter I must.

In school, I never appreciated the daylight on the way home. Just felt that it was very hot. When I started working, I realised how good it feels to still see sunlight on the way home, cos it means I'm on half day.

Sometimes, humans are reaching out for a connection, something to tie them to the present, reality, each other. I want to give my readers a taste of this connection, that feeling that they're not alone after all, that someone else does and feels the same things as they do. I want to make them smile a slow smile or a brief twinge of the heart, no matter how small or brief.

The verdict is not out yet, but whatever it is, I have really seen how - again, lucky - I am to have so many wonderful friends willing to give me a hand in whichever way they can, even going the extra mile (literally and figuratively) in so many instances.

While waiting for the interview to begin, my eyes reddened just thinking about all the help and love I'd received. Bell who would continue to look for clothes for me to try on even as I was queuing at the fitting room, Bee with her unwavering confidence in my writing and abilities, all the messages I got, Becky who had to wake up so early and travel all the way and back, JH who thoughtfully loaned me her gorgeous bag.

我何德何能讓你們這樣子幫我？

這份感動，我會永遠永遠放在心裏.

I swear most of them look the same and probably have the same effect, just different names only.

Haha. Rant over.

Special thanks to a very stressed 老婆 who 非常認真地 helped a clueless me select these (and who, incidentally, also got me the Le Petit Prince makeup pouch last year), and also a special friend who will be my makeup artist on the big day. And for everyone's encouragement and help upon hearing the news of my opportunity. Thanks so much. 感動萬分.

All this for an interview. Will my "investment" reap dividends? Will it, like a firework, shoot me to my dream job -  maybe even 612星球 if there's enough fuel left?
