A new DS will be out by next year! And it can let you see 3D without glasses! I was doubtful about this whole 3D craze until now. Think it'll be really cool if it doesn't give you dizziness, headaches or eye strain.
One of the gaming sites, Kotaku, has speculated that the 3D might look something like this:
If that's true, it's damn cool la. Must start saving money already.
SHERO: makes me feel like I've just been to a concert
如果你是女孩: the obligatory 'annoying song' in every album =p . It will be a challenge trying to squeeze in those kissing sounds at the KTV.
我爱雨夜花: OMG it's in dialect!!! Quite cool, I like it. The middle part sounds a bit like some Buddhist song...lol. Fantastic harmonization, as usual.
两个人的荒岛: WOOHOO I finally have this song in my Nano!
少了一个人: the intro alr made me want to cry
收留我: I'll forgive this for being a cover because the lyrics are so damn sweet. A friendship song that made me smile from the bottom of my heart.
超可能: Mmm, catchy. Love the playful twist at the beginning.
爱上你: Stop watching the show online and help with the ratings, pls =p . Ooh...the bridge is actually quite nice.
你不会: I have no idea why, but this song's melody reminds me of 我们怎么了...or one of Jay's songs. The lyrics are sublime. I hope to write something which can achieve this level of connection one day.
爱就对了: Hope this song will grow on me more and more.
I think overall, it's still quite a refreshing album (not easy after 11 albums), mostly thanks to the Taiwanese track. Can't make much further judgment until I've listened to it a few more times. Right now, my favourite track in this album is a close contest between SHERO, 两个人的荒岛 and 收留我. I can't wait to watch the programmes they'll be on to promote the album, but hmm after those radio shows they recorded for the previous album, it'll be pretty damn difficult to top that as far as promo ideas go. Really loved every single minute of those. I shall 拭目以待!
In other news, their competitor (in HK, anyway), Twins, released a new album today! Wonder if it's just a coincidence? Anyway, quite happy that they managed to regroup after the whole messy saga.
If I have not replied your SMS by the end of the day, deepest apologies. Please send another to remind me. I have a good excuse! Switching back and forth between two phones at the moment (this situation should probably end by this Wednesday), so your message might have gotten lost or is not on the phone I'm currently using - staring at me and willing me to reply it. My memory is already getting from bad the worse as it is...*shakes head*.
I listened to the full version of the song for the first time at work this morning. Bad choice, because I started to move to the beat involuntarily. And it really isn't the best song to help me concentrate on my work, cos it made me damn psyched. I felt like going out to fight for women's rights or something, instead of quietly doing my admin tasks for the day. The lyrics inspire me.
I was apprehensive before listening to the song, because I'd heard the tail end of the preview on the radio, and I didn't like the S-H-E-R-O part. But the full song doesn't disappoint, and I'm relieved because their title tracks are usually a hit-and-miss with me. Out of all their albums' title tracks, I think I only liked Superstar and 中國話 from the get-go.
Anyway, their MV for this song is already out, but I didn't use that at the start of the post because I wanted you to hear the song without visuals, to let the lyrics sink in. Because the MV is extremely distracting, with all the bling, their out-of-this-world wardrobe and smouldering hotness.
So here it is, relegated to the end of my post instead:
That's the concept and title of S.H.E's upcoming album (to be released on March 26). Yes, I know it sounds mighty weird. But there are solid reasons behind this unusual name.
The concept is really feminist and exudes damn positive vibes. I like it! Here are some quotes from the news release on their company's website:
「SHERO」這個概念來自阿信想到說英文中有雄性意識的「HERO」、「HISTORY」,那應該也要有女性意識的「SHERO」及「HERSTORY」,並覺得由獨立自主、努力追求夢想成真這個形象十分鮮明的S.H.E來改寫歷史最適合不過了... [cool pun - I've heard some Taiwanese pronounce 'history' as 'herstory']
Basically, they urge ladies to become their own SHERO instead of waiting for knights in shining armour to come by. They urge you to love yourself, love your body, and not feel inferior because of your looks.
According to the press release, there is really such a word as 'shero', but I couldn't find it on dictionary.com.
And yes, Ashin fans, this was conceptualised by Mayday's lead singer. Wish there were more heroes like him around.
有種、有錢、有身材 shall be my new direction!
*update* Here's a news video about their album cover shoot. Hoo boy...smokin' hot. Please ignore what the newscaster said at the beginning! It is NOT surprising that they look sexy.
But I couldn't help it! I'd been eyeing them since before CNY!
Ok, so they cost $99.90. And they're not even from Levi's, they're Zara. But look! Look at these pix and tell me they're not worth it (and die.)! Plus, it was the last pair in my size!!
Yes, they look gorgey on me. I love them and that's that. End of story. Not another word, now.
