8 months of waking up at 7.30 am for an 8.30 class, dressing in semi-darkness, trying not to make a noise, not to open the door too wide and let in too much light, of snatched conversations in the shower and before the Sandman's magic sealed our eyes, of simply turning back whenever I needed you.
7 days of remembering exactly why I was in HK for the second time in 8 months, of living with 10 adults + children, 4 dogs and 3 maids in 2 houses, of you, of the joys derived by your daily company, of being a 傻瓜, of your warm hospitality, of being Singaporeans, of being 1 free phone call, or a few MTR stations, or a few hours away from you. And you. And you.

People can get used to some things in months or days (of course, it depends on what it is). It often doesn't take long though, well, not longer than we expect anyway. Why do we miss people, or experiences, or feelings, or places? Sometimes it is because we had gotten used to having whatever or whoever it is around. And once they cease to be around as much or exit our lives altogether, or simply become different, we find an emptiness which we're not used to. So we fill it with missing force, with sadness, with someone else, or something else. And then we get used to it. Round and round and round we go.
Life is such fun sometimes, eh? ;p
