In case you weren't absolutely convinced when I whined in an earlier post about the acute lack of storage space in my room, here is a pictorial representation of my situation:



My bookshelf is packed, and it's about the only piece of furniture I have that's completely dedicated to storage of non-clothes items.

But oh well, this is not really what I want to blog about today.

I have always wanted to make lists of my cd, vcd/dvd and book collections to see what is missing and make my storage problem even worse convince myself to be happy with life and not buy anymore.

So here it is, although it is probably of no interest whatsoever to anyone besides me. Hahaha.

I'll list the book collection some other day, tired now plus not all my books are with me right now.

I watched Wanted yesterday with Grace. I thought the storyline was quite sucky, but then for an action movie (read: all exaggerated moves, slo-mo, trash-talking and sexy babes. Who has space for a good storyline?) I suppose it's ok.

This was one of the few action movies that I actually wanted to watch. And I was quite convinced that it would be good, too. Usually I shun them because I would spend half the movie rolling my eyes at the crashing-through-glass, bullet-dodging, landing-on-feet-after-falling-from-high-places and other nonsense. So why was I interested in Wanted (by the way, it had plenty of all of the eye-rolling scenes above)? Dunno...maybe cos of the fancy bullets?

Nah...who am I kidding. I was interested in the fancy bullets...but...two words: Angelina Jolie. Worth the ticket price already. Even though I'm not a dude.

The sexy babe is a must-have in most action flicks, but sometimes they would get a sexy (or sexier) male lead as well to sweeten the deal, pull in both genders, etc. etc. . This time the male lead was just ok, not bad. Fits the role (loser-turned-assassin). So no extra efforts to pull in the ladies here.

Good thing, then, that Angelina Jolie looks drop-dead gorgeous right from her first scene to the last. She really does this action thing well. I loved Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Maybe that was why I had confidence in this one. Well, in my opinion there is still no one better than Kate Beckinsale for the vampire type of action movie, but Angelina takes the human type of action movie to new heights.

Conclusion? Watch this movie with your boyfriend/guy friend if you're ok knowing that he will be either fantasizing about Angelina Jolie, or imagining himself as the bullet-spraying male lead (in his cooler scenes), or both, throughout the whole movie. Watch this movie with your girl friend(s) if you (or your companion/s) think James McAvoy is cute.

And most of all, if you're like me (and appreciate great scenes), watch it for the train scene, shown in the trailer below. Pay close attention to 0:15.



In case you didn't catch it, it was the part where Angelina Jolie gracefully turns around, folds her knees and lies down on the train in one smooth, fluid movement. Isn't it one hell of a sweet scene? It definitely makes my top ten list of Most Beautiful Scenes in Cinema. =)

After taking a hot shower, I came to the sudden realisation that tonight's weather is really good. A bit chilly, but perfect for reading, chatting, and, well, anything enjoyable, really. And the chilly-ness just makes my heart feel even more warm and fuzzy after the hot shower. Do you know this feeling? I hope you do =) .

I feel so blissful and happy now, just watching the city lights in the distance twinkle, as if reassuring me that everyone I love is safe and well. A slight wind blows gently, teasingly, but my heart is alight with feel-good vibes. =D

I wonder if the weather is this good almost every night, just that I never deign to tear my eyes away from my computer screen for long enough to notice. Or maybe it's just a combination of good mood and good music? It makes me feel like doing nothing else but appreciate this magical night.

When I was about 15, I used to love nights such as these, feeling the touch of the wind on my skin, watching the lights in the distance. Twinkling, promising. Along with the stars. I called them magical nights. But I rarely feel this way nowadays because somewhere along the way...I started to fear the loneliness and uncertainty that night brings.

Just wanted to blog about this feeling before it disappears. =)

And to tell all of my loved ones out there that I love you all very, very much.

Just now, Kelly Clarkson's "Since You've Been Gone" came on in my iTunes, and very suddenly, I found myself missing my old Panasonic VS2 handphone very, very much. It was one of the few songs I'd put into that phone to test its MP3 function.

That phone had the most wonderful display screen ever, and this one-push auto flip button at the side to flip it open in the coolest way possible. I love flip phones. Not to mention the very groovy light underneath the camera which would flash in your selected colour when you received a message or a phone call. I found that light rather reassuring (except when I wasn't in the mood to take calls or reply SMSes, in which case I'd find it irritating haha). When you deigned to turn your attention to it, there it would be, flashing calmly from time to time, gently teasing you to flip it open and check the message/missed call. God, I miss it so much now that I am seriously considering buying one as a back-up phone.

As I was looking for a picture of my VS2, I found a website selling this phone and the Panasonic x70i (among others), which was one of my dream phones last time. I liked the x70 because of its looks and also because Jay endorsed it.

God, it looks so old now. But I still think it's a cool phone.

Seeing the x70i reminded me of all the other cellphones I'd dreamt of having in the past. So I thought it would be nice to blog about all these has-beens ;). Hope it stirs up some happy memories of the good ol' days. =)

The first handphone I drooled over was (wait for it) Nokia 8350. Yeah, I know, me and the rest of the world's teenagers.

I still think it's gorgeous. Don't mind using it as a retro phone. Of course, I heard that looks were about the only thing that it had going for it. I'd heard many stories about how easily it could be mishandled into breaking down. Still, it was a really popular model.

Then came the Motorola V70. It's this erm swivel/swing phone that you open by er...swinging the cover. Well, just look at the diagram if you don't get me. I was fascinated by this whole new concept of...swinging phones, and the mesmerising blue backlights. And just look at the design! It's like the personification of "sleek" itself. So many years on, it still looks really trendy. I still remember that it cost about $900 when it first came out.

After watching Meteor Garden, I also liked Nokia 8855 because it was the phone that the male lead gave to the female lead. Also, the bottom part slides open, which is rather cool. But somehow I never really got off with the size (really small buttons) and colour, so I didn't want it as much as the other dream phones.

More recently, I got into those PDA phones. I wanted an O2 (after this person who sat beside me on the bus started to open WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER on his O2 phone to watch videos and listen to music. How cool is that!). Or a Dopod (the colours!) or a HTC (I saw an ad that demonstrated one of its sleek iTouch-y features). I'm all about functionality, man. But those things are too expensive, and I've abandoned this dream phone ever since I got my DS. It has almost all the functionality I want and need ;).

I think that's about all the phones that I ever dreamt of having. Anyone felt the same way as me about them? Haha.

On a random note, I am (still) slacking my life away right now (school holidays have been holidaying for a month now). And before you ask, "j-o-b" the evil three-lettered word has crossed my mind and I'm on it. Do not envy me because it is a difficult job, slacking. I feel so aimless everyday that I think I will start to hold meetings with myself to set daily personal agendas soon.
