So-Called Class Outing
We had our so-called class outing today!!!
The original plan: Meet at 11 am at Harbourfront MRT station so that we can go to Sentosa and er...hang loose. Then go to Jia Hui's house at 2 pm for catered food. At night we watch World Cup or go clubbing if the match is uninteresting/channel 5 doesn't show it.
What happened in the end: By 12.30 p.m. only 5 people were at Harbourfront-JY, me, Sarah, Jasmine and Jason. We had a sad, sad lunch at the foodcourt in Harbourfront Shopping Centre (or whatever it's called). Yes, just the 5 of us. Sniff sniff. After lunch, we walked around the shopping centre and left for Ryan's house at one something. The venue had been changed to Ryan's house cos we had not confirmed the venue with JH and her house was thus unavailable for use. And we cancelled the catering because it was super expensive ($360+, I heard) and practically no one was intent on turning up.
We reached Ryan's place at about 2.20 p.m. and started watching She's the Man after lamenting about the fact that our so-called class outing only consisted of 6 people.
Soon after we started watching the show, Aizat, Sonia and Sharina told us they were on their way.
They arrived at 4 something p.m. with our beloved ptn, who bought us two lovely huge slabs of Apple and Mango strudels! YUMMMMMMMMMM! Thanks Ms Ng asifyouarereadingthis!
And thus our so-called class outing now consisted of 10 people, including our personal tutor/ptn (sth like form teacher). Encouraging.
We ordered pizza from Canadian 2 for 1 (love their range of flavours and how their crust is flatter and not that puffy like Pizza Hut's which makes me sick of it after about 2 slices) and brought it down to the poolside (which was quite a small place in spite of the pricey $25 booking fee. Thanks Ryan asifyouarereadingthis.).
Andrew arrived and then we crunched and munched . After that, those who brought their swimming things (me, Sarah, JY, Jason and of course Ryan.) decided to go splash around. I swam 10 laps (I think) and was reminded that my freestyle still sucks.
While we were in the pool James made his (not so) surprising appearance (The fact that he turned up so late was more surprising than the fact that he actually turned up. Excuse me if you dunno what I'm talking about.). And so our numbers were up to 12! (Well, 10 actually since our ptn and Aizat left for their
After I'd done my laps we decided to go try out the sauna. It was my first time!
It's really bloody hot inside. But it's a different kind of hot from the weather. Weird. I didn't really like the heat, but when we got out of there it felt really good! Refreshing. Like we'd already bathed. I think it's a really good way to de-stress. I feel more relaxed now and less stressed and uptight. Hope it lasts!
We went upstairs to bathe, (in the meantime the non-swimmers were upstairs continuing to watch She's the Man) and they decided to go to East Coast Macs/some beach pub to watch the World Cup. Andrew and I, being uninterested in soccer, went home.
Thus ends my story. The highlight and point of it is that 1. only half our class turned up for the class outing (but then again what's new, haha =p) and 2. I tried out the sauna for the first time!
The End! =)
