Well, here I am again. Escaping (if only momentarily) from my academic obligations. Hahaha.

As I was saying, if it does happen to you, congratulations you are not alone! Yours truly's brain has taken to dreaming up story ideas to entertain itself this time! Ok la maybe it's not that WOW to you but to me and other people who know how hard it is to come by an idea (let alone a STORY idea), it is. And I've got like three. In a period of less than a week. Not full stories, of course, but...you know...enough for me to be itching to work on them.

But I can't. Cos it's exam period. It's like my brain (oh no, my brain has nothing whatsoever to do with lil' ol' me) likes to torture itself or something. Sigh!

What a day!

Went to school at 10 am for Writing for the Web final CA, rushed back home to grab my stuff, commuted to Harbourfront to get to Underwater World, cabbed down to Wisma Atria to meet Isabel and Wen Fang, and walked down to Cathay Cineleisure for surprise dinner for Wen Fang the bday girl at Cafe Cartel.

What a day, indeed.

Would love to talk about my Underwater World antics, but you'll have to stay tuned.

Just thought I'd post a small update to revive my blog before I go to dreamland.

Morphus's Guide to Fengshui

Foreword

Some fengshui basics is sure to boost your luck during any Chinese New Year Blackjack game and turn Lady Luck's head your way. Just make sure you get it right.

1. Always, always, have a set-up. Like so:

Now, as you can see in Fig 1.1 (set-up courtesy of Everett Chua, brother of this author), a stuffed Charmander (Pokemon la. Where have you been for the last 5 years or so?) is sprawled on the ground, with 2 ang pows (containing $10 each) on its back and a piggy bank cover on top of that. The cover acts as a reflector to keep bad luck at bay. For extra effect, aim the reflector at one of the players (preferably the banker) to concentrate your bad luck on him/her.



2. In times of desperation, place something soft and fluffy on your head to better focus your positive energies through the top of your head (see fig 2.1. Model: Rowena Cai, cousin of this author). Keep changing your "headgear" after every round to experiment and see which soft and fluffy object works best for you.

3. If all else fails, just stay wacky and take life with a pinch of salt. For ideas, please refer to fig 3.1.

Remember, life is beautiful. It gets hard sometimes, but remember that. Money can be earned back. Moments of unhappiness can't be erased and the time spent being unhappy cannot be unwound.

Gambling is all in the name of fun, so don't go too far, don't fall out or argue over money. Always keep the spirit of CNY and keep your eyes on next year's! =)
