Happenings

Today we only had like 1 hr of lecture. Because we pushed forward our last tutorial for today to yesterday and cancelled the second last tutorial. And a grand total of 5 pple turned up for today's lecture. Everybody wanted to go back to their secondary/primary schools to visit their teachers. SOOOOOO filial haha. I turned up because my whole stinking secondary school is at the bloody ZOO today (do NOT ask me why. Somehow the principal got it into its head that it is FUN and LOGICAL to celebrate Teachers' Day by going to the zoo and making everybody do batik paintings. Where's the link, I say? We have a history of mad principals.). Also who will our dear classmates copy notes from if no one turns up? Lastly it is not fair if Sarah (class rep) has to turn up just to mark attendance FOR HERSELF (so that there will be someone to collect the class register and the lecturer will suspect nothing). Hahah. Anyway in the end we spilled the beans to Miss Hui (the lecturer) when we met her outside the lecture theatre before the lecture started (she was going to notice anyway. our class is so noisy.). She appeared to be ok about it and even joked about it. (I do not really know because as an ignoramus I am oblivious to EVERYTHING. Lol) So, whew. So it was rather boring today without 3/4 of our class crapping around. Also the lecture theatre was a bit quieter (a bit because Sarah and I were still irritating the pple in the row in front of us by talking and laughing). After that we went to watch The Notebook (12.50 pm show) at Orchard Cineleisure. It was quite a great flick. I think I could have enjoyed it more but for some reason I was being crappy and poked fun at everything (maybe my brain thought I was watching Troy all over again). But still it was v nice and teary. A LOT of kissing and sex though. Haha.

I cannot believe that they are still at it. I mean, it's been like one week. And they can't stop harping on it. SO WHAT if we, independent tertiary students, decide to wear slippers to school? Skimpy clothes and all that nvm, but SLIPPERS??? Slippers u also wanna care? Is we study or u study? We are the PHUTURE of the nation lor. As long as we're comfy and produce good results and PAY OUR SCHOOL FEES, i dun see why u shld care. We can't study properly if we dun feel at one with nature ok.

Remember me? Your best friend from pri 4? Heh...I really really miss those days. Dun look down on urself la...intelligence (n therefore ability to get a diploma)...chio-ness...u've got it all. A LOT MORE than u need hehe. Sure u can get a rich and handsome guy if u want. But well...life's more than that eh? How I wish our friendship could have remained that close (in pri 4) until now...Anyway take care friend. I'll always remember the wonderful times we had together.

I threw away her letters! And she still keeps them! I know i shouldn't have chucked them but i was so hurt that she decided to stop writing to me. So i thought "what's the use of holding on to a past that i can never go back to?" when I was packing my stuff to move house, and chucked them. Or did I really? I remember looking for them in sec 2. Hmm...anyhow, i can't find them now. Crap. I never thought she would still keep them. I always thought she requested to stop writing letters because she didn't want me as her friend anymore. And everytime I called her she would give some excuse and say "call u back later". But I would never, not even once, get back that call. Oh how I mourn this lost friendship most, among all of 'em (which is not that many la actually)...I still wonder why she wanted us to stop writing letters. I thought she'd rejected my testi 'cos she only replied/accepted it quite a few days after I'd wrote it. Oh how I miss her old self...she's changed so so much now. How I miss those times we had together...calling each other and talking for hours everyday...being the best of friends, just her me and Angeline. Sigh.

P.S If you are a guy and u checked out her profile in friendster, YES she is damn cho but dun get any stupid ideas. She will not fall for you hahahaahaha...I am not kidding. MANY have tried and failed (many including more than half of the population of boys in our level in sec sch. and even some from other levels.)

Flora: Nice girl with the bottom of her hair curly (fake one la lol. oops. =p). Erm...got many many friendster testimonials lor. Formerly from SRJC (during first three months). Can be moody at times but generally fun to be with =D.

Gar: Sporty, spunky girl with spiked up hair (got standability lor. I am sooooooo jealous.). Badminton (henceforth referred to as Baddy) appears to be her life. Easy to get along with and has pinch-able cheeks which i loooooove to, well, pinch. She has Garfield's smile, which is why I call her Garfield. Seems to be forever tired though.

Actually I didn't want to bother coming downstairs as I felt lazy and sleepy. But no choice...still addicting to chatting wif friends. Also it is HOT upstairs.

I saw Stefanie Sun and Tanya Chua today at Holland V. Half the class was with me (13 people in all, to be precise). They said we were blocking their way and they walked past us. I DID NOT SEE THEM. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS. I only managed to get a marvy view of their backs and Stefanie's side as they were already halfway across the road (we were on the other side), because that's when Garfield (fellow Stefanie Sun fan) recovered enough from shock to point and say "Sun Yan Zi!". At which point I turned to her (Gar) and said "Haha".

Gar: There!
Me: Hahaha. (I HONESTLY thought she was joking.)

Then I heard Sarah saying "Oh. She's my mother's student." Or sth like that...so i thought...hmm...who could it be. Garfield was still staring, so i looked. Oh my effing goodness. It really IS her. Bloody hell.

Aizat asked us all to shout "Stefanie! We love you!". Flora, Gar and I agreed.

"1, 2, 3!"

Me: (seeing her quickly disappearing round the corner) Quick! Let's go get her autograph!
Flora: You want go I accompany u lor.
Me: Garfield you want or not?
Gar: Huh...don't want la. She's outside leh. Don't disturb her la.

So in the end we didn't. And I'm sorta glad for that 'cos after that, on the bus, I was thinking about it (still traumatised) and realised that Gar was right. We shouldn't invade her privacy. Ah well...but it was so tempting. A picture, or an autograph, to show that I've met my idol, Singapore's pride. Ah well. I shall attempt to be happy that I saw her, and not be traumatised/disappointed.

Note: Sequence of events and actual words said may not be 100% accurate because my mind was in a whirl and everything happened so quickly. Any mistakes are genuine and honest errors.

Anyway, we were at Swensen's because our group is doing our Marketing project on it. So we decided to eat there to "see their service how". Haha...what better excuse to pamper ourselves right? Haha...somehow or other the rest of the class found out about it and decided to tag along. The more the merrier haha...

We all had Topless 5's (5 scoops of ice cream for $1.39. What a steal.). I shared mine with Flora. After eating, Jia Hui, Ryan and Aizat "added ingredients" to Jia Hui's bowl. Ketchup/chilli sauce...salt...water...leftovers from the other two's bowls...were all added to the gross mixture. It was Fear Factor-The Great Ice-Cream Challenge. Then JH and Aizat actually TASTED it. Mah goodness...apparently it was very salty. Haha...then Aizat kept complaining that he had the taste in his mouth and couldn't get rid of it. Ryan refused to try the concoction despite taunts from the other two (Coward =p).

After Swensen's, we went to BK to eat. (5 scoops of ice cream cannot fill your stomach, DUH) JH got this rather cute blue dinosaur stuffed toy which vibrates when you pull the string on its back. (Actually it is called Rex and the vibrating is supposed to be DANCING. According to the ad on the BK coupon.) She has named it Farney (since it looks like Barney, and thus might be his brother) and shamelessly (haha) introduced it as our "class mascot" to Xinyi (facilitator. or peer leader.) when we met her in the toilet. Humph. What about Bozo then.

We had our Creative Comm test today. We had to write a 800-1000 word article with the theme "Days when we were wild". I chose the topic Chasing Idols. So I have to link Chasing Idols to "Days when we were wild" and write an article for Teenage (pretend one la) on it. At first I understood everything, but after Loretta explained to those who didn't understand I got confused. So I clarified with her, but was still confused. So for the whole duration of the test she kept smiling at me whenever i met her gaze. And I just gave a :S face back cos i dun understand y she keeps smiling encouragingly at me. That was pretty rude of me I think. But oh well.

I finished the article on time (but barely. no time to check, just organised my paragraphs properly.) but did not have time to put sub-headings. I think they are necessary. Darn. Anyhow I hope I did a pretty good job.

For those who have no idea what on Earth I am talking about, don't worry I am working on an introduction thingy just for YOU, my beloved sec sch frens and cousin. =)

The sky's reddish...according to my mum it's gonna rain. I hope it rains tomorrow morning so that I will have inspiration for my Creative Communication test on writing a feature article.

Yesterday
There was this lady and man visiting my aunt too...when the lady saw me she asked my uncle "Is this ah May?". I was flabbergasted. I have never seen this lady in my life (i think) and yet she knows my NAME? And later she proceeded to say my-how-you-have-grown, the usual...to which my uncle replied "she has always been so 'big'...". The man looked a bit familiar though. Anyway they then proceeded to fawn over my youngest brother who is oh-so-cute. Humph. You don't hold attention anymore when you have a little-and-cute-looking brother.

My brother told me that Lee Hsien Loong said that he is going to change Sat to a 'public holiday' just like Sunday. Since WHEN does my BROTHER know what prime ministers say in the National Day Rally speech?? Heck, I am shocked that he even KNOWS who Lee Hsien Loong is. Okay, so his teacher told him that (what PM Lee said). But still...so throw face lor. And everyone seems to love him now. I saw the papers today and there were like so many pple praising him. Eek. It stinks of propaganda. Before the speech everyone was so doubtful of his abilities...and now...I am not doubtful of HIS abilities. I just hope that he really does what he says. And not just use wordplay.

Darn. My brother was cooking an omelette just now. I got hungry just by smelling it. Why the sam hell is he sooooooo good at cooking? Why can't I cook to save my life? It is SO unfair. Home ec is almost his best subject. I, on the other hand, almost failed it. He is so much better at doing household chores (e.g. my mum insists he has more 'skill' in mopping the floor than me.) but he can't be bothered to do 'em. Even less can't be bothered than me lor. Haha. Ok i shall go upstairs now. Nighty.

Went to KK to visit my fave aunt just now (who just had a erm...minor op i think). I HATE hospitals. They creep me out. Anyway she looked okay, though pale and in pain. I hope she gets well soon. My youngest brother Ev was fascinated by the automatic swinging doors -_-'. Surprisingly, even Ken (youngER brother) came along. And he was in his 'nice and kind' mood (which means he is generally nicer and kind to the world. This is rather rare, I tell you.). Suddenly i felt as if we 4 pple (mum, ken, ev and i) like v long nv go out together alr. It felt good and warm-ish. OK i shall stop being sentimental. Gtg upstairs now. Waiting for the laptop battery to finish charging (it is alr 97% but simply REFUSES to finish the remaining 3%). Shall stop now in case Ev (who is with me in the Multi-purpose room downstairs) peeks/peeps. Good night all! Sweetie Dreamies! =D

Yay! Since entering SP I have received SIX testimonials from my wonderful classmates, the Kite Flyers. My friendster testimonial section is no longer AS pathetic. Lol. Celebrate manz!

Bought Jay's new disc today at $17.90. I think it was the best buy. However, i sorta expected the album to be better. It's not bad, but i think his previous album was much better. Maybe I haven't listened to the songs enough yet. LOL. Qi Li Xiang is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice!!! Listening to his songs is like hearing a story. The descriptions...music...everything...blends in so well and weaves the song into a seamless story. The chorus is so touching...I love it!

Woke up at 11 am...ate Nasi Lemak for brekkie (my wonderful mum n dad buy breakfast for us on weekends). Missed saying goody bye to dad (who is going to Pakistan yet AGAIN), so I sent him an sms saying "Bye bye! Have a safe trip." He replied "Tks." This is the first time I have said bye to my dad when he goes overseas. First time since i was like in pri sch la. I think I might be missing him a bit too. First time I can actually feel it...and admit it. It is not that i hate my dad...it's just that i dun like him to scold and put down my bro (about his results). And I get v protective when he does that. So everytime I feel close to him (dad), I'd want to stop myself from feeling like that cos i'm scared he'll scold my bro again and i'll be v angry wif him (dad) again. But I think our relationship might finally be taking off...cos I'm starting to appreciate his knowledge of IT...and I love him v much for buying me the lappy. Sounds v materialistic, but I think my feelings for him were unleashed after he bought me the laptop. I'm still a bit apprehensive though.

Anyway...moving on. At 6 pm, AL came to my hse to swim and we soaked in the jacuzzi for a while too. Then we ordered home delivery from a western food stall at the coffeeshop down the road. We all ate Pepper Steak. The gravy was marvy but the steak was like a DIAMOND. Now there's loads of beef strips stuck in my teeth. I will have to floss my teeth later. Dang.

Ah...the simple pleasures of life. It rained today as we were having DTP. I didn't notice until Jia Hui shouted "Hey! It's raining! Yay, no training!". I love rain, but don't have the time or mood to appreciate it nowadays. Today was an exception though. After I got off the bus, I saw the friend who lives in the same condominium as me (but she lives in a different block). Heh...we don't even know each other's name (maybe we exchanged it once, i can't remember). But everytime we see each other, we would engage in small talk until she reaches her block (which comes before mine). Sometimes I feel too shy to talk to her when I see her though. Haha...but I am so glad for this special friendship we share. I can't remember when we first met, or how we started talking. But what does it matter? How many people whose paths cross so often can actually become friends? This is a sad fact in urban and suburban regions. Nonetheless, it is these little surprises that come our way that make life worth living. It was only a five minute chat in the light drizzle, but I felt great anyhow as even though we meet so seldom, I can see she actually does care about me. Haha...sometimes I feel really lonely when my brother talks about the numerous friends he has in the condo. He always asks me to make more friends around here, but it's easy for him. He plays basketball. All he has to do is to grunt at the other pple in the court, and they become ball partners. Hehe...anyway, after bathing, I had dinner with instant Campbell's soup. It tasted heavenly, warm and toasty in the cold weather. Though I had to guzzle lots of water after that, it was that salty. The cold wind blasts at me, but my heart feels ever so warm. Ah, it's so great to be alive.

Hehe...been putting off my blog posts because I wanna create this one with my new laptop. YES, I am now the proud new owner of a hp nx5000 notebook computer!!! :D:D:D:D:D After lots and lots of walking around Sim Lim Square on Sunday looking at modems, routers and laptops, my dad finally decided to go back to the one we found on Saturday. But he found out about some hidden costs regarding paying via credit card instalments, so he was hesitating. He smiled and asked me "So how? You want or not?" "Of course la! You ask me I sure want one what."I laughed. And so i was lappie-fied (laptop=lappy, thus laptop owner=lappie and therefore I have been lappie-fied) then and there, on Sunday, 15 August 2004 at about 4 pm. This is a milestone in my life ok. Hmm...maybe I should make a list of milestones in my life.

The whole of yesterday was spent trying to set up a wireless connection so that I can go online with my notebook. The modem didn't work, so my dad went and exchanged it for another one today. And ta da! I can now go online with my lappy. Hurray. I may be starting to seriously looooooove my dad. One thing's for sure though: I admit that I am damn lucky to have him as my father since he knows (almost) EVERYTHING a la IT. Saves our family a lot of money and trouble.

Anyhow, there's a dumb ICP test tomorrow. I am so so so pek cek. Think it's pms. Sianz. Dun wanna sleep yet though I'm tired and dun wanna see unnecessary things if I stay up. Crapola. I hate the seventh month.

Went to Funan the IT mall with my dad, mum and youngest bro Everett just now. We looked at loads and loads of laptops/notebooks, and narrowed our choices to 2: Toshiba Satellite A50-S330 and Compaq Presario b2019. Both have the same price, same specifications. But for the Compaq one, they're offering a free upgrade from 1.5-1.6 GHz, 40-60 GB, 256-512 mb RAM PLUS a free hp psc 1210 printer, optical mouse and carrying case (Compaq only gives free optical mouse and carrying case). And both offer pre-installed Windows XP Home Edition. Toshiba only has a 30 GB hard disk drive, but its Wireless LAN is 5 times faster than the Compaq's. Toshiba has 5 yrs warranty and free Chinese Star 2003 but Compaq only has 1 yr warranty. Then we sent Mum and Everett to some carnival and went to Sim Lim Square. There, we found the hp nx5000, with 1.5 GHz, 256 mb RAM, 40 gb, 15 " XGA display screen and much superior speakers for 100 bucks more (2499) than the Toshiba and Compaq models. But the hp one doesn't give any free stuff. Aside from a carrying case i think. On the other hand, it looks nicer. I think I want the hp one. My father says we'll go back to Sim Lim again for a final look before deciding which one to buy. So with any luck, tomorrow I will be a proud owner of a laptop! Hopefully, my father will decide to buy it before next week as I will get my Marketing test paper back on Monday. I'm not sure if my results will be good at all. Ah well. If worse comes to worst I still have my 98% for ITB (Information Technology for Business) to talk about.

I just read Sab's, Xiaxue (Best Asian Blog winner; going to be featured YET AGAIN in tomorrow's Sunday Times=> www.xiaxue.blogspot.com) and Xinyi's blogs. I think that we DMC students (Xiaxue is a DMC graduate from our poly. Ha, i'm so proud. Sab is my classmate, Xinyi is our second-year senior) have got some sorta pattern to our blogs. Besides the immaculate English, of course *smirks*. Thus I must improve my blog posts by being more insightful, less shallow and more honest. And blogging more often, of course. Then I will be a true DMC student blogger. Hahahhahaha.

Hehe...I'm in a great mood in spite of crying throughout the whole night. Before I fell asleep I was crying over the prospect of someone committing suicide (you know who you are), and after I fell asleep I could feel myself tearing as I was having this nightmare. In it, I was for some reason made to go to Bangkok to study (of ALL places right. I've decided that I dislike that place after going there on a vacation last yr. Or was it this yr? Ya. I think it was during the June Hols.) on my 17th Birthday (although it was supposed to be my 18th Birthday, since my 17th is over. yes, i know this does not make sense. dreams never do.) I was so so so sad that I had to leave all my friends. But somehow, sometime during the course of this nightmare, i got 2 classmates to accompany me in Bangkok, also studying. Can't remember anything much after that. Except that it was the first time i told myself "this is a dream" and didn't wake up immediately. I just had another dream instead, i think. This one was a nice one. I was travelling on an airplane and looking at the beautiful scenery.

So, back to why I am in a great mood. Last night, my parents finally decided that I need a laptop. I was like YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (But what I actually said was "Yay."+*big grin*. My parents tend to dragggggggg the whole process of buying something for you when they know you really really really want it like crazy.) Do you know how they came to that conclusion? I was, once again, using the computer and chatting to my friends in the "wee hours of the night" (according to my parents. according to us teenagers it is only 11pm-12 a.m.) when my parents wanted to sleep. Then my father said "Aiyah, let's buy a new computer for her lah. So ma fan." Mum: Ya lor, she dun want to sleep we want to sleep leh. And besides, if she has her own computer Ken (my bro) can do his projects on this computer and they won't snatch and have 'black faces'. Dad: Ya, let's buy a laptop. *looks at me* Desktop computer will be useless for you since you can't carry it around.

Wow. It was like a dream come true man. Let's just hope they really mean it. We're going to shop for it later. HAHAHAHAHAHA I LOVE MY PARENTS. MY DAD. MY MUM. HOHOHOHOH! And my mum said she's gonna buy Qi Li Xiang (Jay Chou's new album) for me after she gets her "pay" from my dad. Ok i gtg eat lunch and maybe shop for laptops wif my family now. Laterz.

AND he has spiky hair! How can I resist??? But I must. He is too out-of-reach. Liking him will be like liking Deng Ke. It will cause a lot of heartbreak for me in the end. Thus I must must must not like him. Actually from the very first time I saw him I have thought that he is cute. But I eventually found out that he is too out-of-reach as he is a little warped and wayyyyyyyyy too talented. I dunno why, but since I hit him on the back yesterday for laughing (we were all in the lift at school, trying to trick pple into thinking they'd walked into the back of the lift by turning and facing the walls of the lift. he told us all to keep a straight face and point at a spot on the top of the lift. but he started laughing and i was scared he'd infect me so i playfully hit him on the back. however i think i hit a little too hard :S), I started to develop feelings for him. ARGH! NO.....

Whoever said it's easier to forget someone u like when u can't see him/her everyday is wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. It has been more than 1 year since I last saw him. Yet i simply CANNOT forget him. Why does it seem like all the guys I really like are destined to walk out of my life as suddenly as they walked in?

Why do I still miss him so much sometimes and cry over him? When he does not like me back? Why can't I just give up on him since he has rejected me? Is this just a crush? Why why why....why does it have to be England? Why did u have to leave without a word? Do you know how hard it was to hold back the tears when I realised that you had flown out of my life forever? I had to do it for one WHOLE day because I hate to cry in public.

And mel...did u ever realise that i like you? Everytime I missed u i would go to K Box. Did you think I had so much time and money? I smiled at you all the time. Did you ever get the hint? Why do I not see you there anymore?

Why why why? Why am I still thinking about these guys who might not even remember who i am? I should just be satisfied with what i have. Great friends...complete family. Just shut up, May, and live ur life properly. Be GLAD for what u have. Before it's all gone.

Anthony Ramasinghe (yeah, what kinda name is that...) called me "unpredictable". Just because I countered him like 5 times in a row with the same word ("perception"). He has ruined my life. Everyone now thinks I am predictable. I don't like to be predictable. I do try to be creative and different from others, you know! Sob...

By the way, the above named cursed person is my Character Development lecturer (yes, he teaches our class the module Character Development, which is named as such because SP wants to deceive us smart mature polytechnic students into thinking that it is NOT CME). It happened on Thursday. Yes it might seem like I am harping on it since it has been so many days already, but I have GOOD REASON to, in my opinion. Nevermind. I shall be nice and forgiving and shut up about him. For the moment.

Going to Mandy's housewarming party later. I cannot WAIT to see how her super-posh house looks like (i THINK it should be super-posh). Sadly to do that I have to lug this gigantic sausage dog cushion on the BUS. It was damn embarassing already dragging it about on the bus and on the way home after I bought it on Thursday. Ah well. SMALL price to pay, I guess.

I am considering using the word "f*c*" in my blog posts. I mean, my principles do not allow me to SAY it. But typing it is different from saying it, no? The only thing is, I will STILL sound uncivilised/rude/barbaric/vulgar whether I SAY it or TYPE it. Ah well I shall end this debate when I actually feel the need to use the word.

I read the papers (!) today (I was bored) and saw this article with this link: www.xiaxue.blogspot.com. So I decided to read it. It's quite vulgar and rather dirty-minded but pretty darn funny. And besides it is by a graduate (graduand? *chuckles* *winks at classmates*) from MY poly, MY course. It might provide some useful information.

Well now...I guess I'll have to go and bathe in case I find myself lacking in time to wax my hair. And, of course, get to Lavender MRT on time to meet le Princess. I found out that I can take 133 there! Yes! Save $$ haahhaah....for what, u ask?

I cut my hair. Short. With my friend and classmate Jia Hui. She chose the hairstyle for me (it is similar to her own, but i hope no one notices =p). I've been wanting to cut for a long time, but dunno where to cut, cut what style. So when she said she wanted to cut hair on tues, i went with her. Anyway it was at Thomson Plaza, quite close to my place.
