Soccer Star

The new soccer season is well on it's way and Zane is having a blast.  He scored a goal for the first time in his first game.  Then scored another goal in his second game.  It definitely has given him the boost of confidence he needed.  Enough of a boost that he now wants to be a soccer player when he grows up.  In his own words, he is Fast.

That is until later when he had time to think it through.  He came to me with a worried look and asked, if he was a soccer player, could he still work at TimeShareWare?  He really doesn't want to give up his job working with his daddy.  I assured him that I thought it would be fine to do both, but workers at TimeShareWare might make him give them tickets to games.  Oh, he says, so they can all see me play!
I hope he continues to enjoy playing soccer and gets many more goals along the way!

Piper Dear

Oh, our dear Piper couldn't be left out!
Plus it gives me a little push to write more.
Our family spent last week in St. George and during that time Piper got quite attached to her daddy.  She has him wrapped around her little finger, just as she should. She loves her Daddy.
While her Daddys' been away and she has struggled a little bit.  She wants him to kiss her goodnight and take her to bed.  My favorite was the other night though.  After multiple times of her getting out of bed I told her I was closing her door. (she doesn't like her door closed, this is not a new practice)  I closed it and she started wailing,  "I love my Daddy.  I love my Daddy. Mommy closed my door!
I LOVE my Daddy!"
Piper is so sweet.  She is the best to give you hugs and kisses.  She told me the other day I was her best friend.  That only lasted for a few minutes but I'll take it.
Piper loves to relax and watch shows.  Anything from Daniel Tiger to Tangled.
She loves being outside riding her plasma car and swinging.  Throw in water or bubbles and she couldn't be happier.
I love this little girl!  And if you ask her how old she is, she doesn't forget the 1/2 part.

Back to School~Zane's Turn

Hip Hip Hooray!!!
Zane made it to school today!
I'm not saying that because I'm glad to have him gone.
Because I know that's where he needs to be.
Zane was a little nervous this morning about going to school.  First day jitters.
He was worried about not knowing the rules while everyone else did.
Very valid fears in my book.
But he went with a smile!

I don't think he knows very many people in his class either.
I'm excited to hear all about his day.  How his teachers are and how lunch turned out.  All things he's been talking and worrying about.  I've been thinking a lot about him during my day!
It did help this morning that his teacher saw him in line and welcomed him by name.  I think he visibly relaxed just a bit.
Ah, lets hope for a great year!

Back to School

Backpacks were set out ready to go last night.  I had last minute labeling duty to finish, but all is well.  Blake was up early- headed out on a business trip- and I got up to be ready for the kids and make a good breakfast.  Summer is officially over.  I have mixed emotions about school starting back up.  I'm not ready for summer to be over.  I feel like we need more time to play!  I like the kids being home most of the time.  Zane will be all day at school this year.  Leaving me and Piper to explore and play all day.  On we must go!
We held our annual back-to-school dinner and FHE on Saturday.
Our focus this year is to be BRAVE.
Joshua 1:9
Be strong and of good courage;
be not afraid.  Neither be thou dismayed.
For the Lord thy God is with thee,
withersoever thou goest.
We talked about how being Brave is hard sometimes.  It takes courage to make new friends, to raise your hand in class, to choose the right.  We want to be brave and we can always ask Heavenly Father to help us.

Kids all went to bed so well last night and fell asleep quickly.  But Zane didn't make it all night.  Poor kid woke up early this morning complaining his tummy hurt.  Then around 7 he started throwing up.   What a wonderful way to start school, or not.
Cambrie was excited to see her school friends and meet her teachers.  She had a hint of nervousness.    I'm so proud of her for the progress she has made the past couple of years!

She came home with a big smile on her face!  She then shouted that 3rd Grade is going to be AWESOME!
I hope Zane will feel the same way tomorrow.

True to my Word

It's been a very long time since I last blogged, journaled, and/or scrapbooked.  6 months to be exact.  I have thought lots about it.  I just haven't been able to make myself sit down and focus.  So true to my word, and going forward, not looking back at what I have missed.  At least not for now.

My Sweeties

I am extremely blessed.  I have been given 3 amazing kids to raise.  They teach me everyday how to be a better person, I'm awed at their ability to forgive me!
I am blessed to have a sweet husband!  He sent me and mom out to an amazingly delicious Valentine dinner. It really was that good.  I'm also glad we had a chance to go out the night before to a really good dinner as well.  I have been spoiled while here in Tahoe!
Happy Valentines Day ~2014

Tahoe We Go

Blake has to work in Lake Tahoe for a week and they suggested he bring his family along.  Well how do you say no to that?  The kids have a short day on Thursday and no school Friday or Monday so the stars aligned just perfectly and I am always game for a vacation!
Blake takes good care of us and worries enough to not want me to drive through unfamiliar canyons in the winter.  So he booked us flights and called my mom and told her to come too.  He would already be there and get the grocery shopping done before we came.  How exciting!
Blake left on Monday and we decided not to tell the kids until closer to leaving.  I told the kids we had something special for them for Valentines day.  It would mean they had to miss their school parties but I thought it would be worth it.  After a little thought on their parts they agreed and got very excited.  Blake had taken their luggage with him when he left Monday so all they needed to do was pack their back packs with activities for the plane.
It wasn't until Thursday morning that they were super excited!  This little girl and her spunk keeps me laughing!  She was so happy to be on an airplane and be sitting in big seat!  She was saying Let's Go!  See Daddy!
Some how flying means that you can order any drink you want to.  Zane was most excited to get himself a coke.  The flight attendant looked at me for approval then came back and refilled it for him after he finished it rather quickly.
The ride went fast and Piper did a great job.  Only got restless about 15 minutes before we were landing.  She figured out how to undo the seat belt and didn't want to sit down any longer.
