#Fotosunday theme: #MUSIC

A funny #fotosunday theme at the miniatures club. #MUSIC this week.
Years ago I did start with a type case project. This is filled with objects that are related to classical music.
After the dusting this morning, at least that's what I thought I did (what are photos nonetheless ruthlessly),I made a few pictures of it.
In the future I will make a kind of a door with a glass panel infront of the type case.

Lets start with this guy. I think he  is telling me that I did a really bad job here. (LOL)

As you see in the left corner below of the type case there is still a small area I have to fill.

Singing birds sounds also like music. At the opera we can see, feal and hear beautiful music.

The midwinter-horn I  made from a piece of wood I found in an old cigar box. The radio I made from an example of the internet.
This recorder was a gift from Paula. Also the keyboard of the piano was a gift from Paula. The piano I made by myself.

When this project comes to an end? No idea. It might be fun when a project does not / never come to an end. So you always have something to do.

Anniversary - part 5

Theme this month: the club day
2012, our 5th year as a miniature club.

Al these years we have been talking to each other regularly over the internet. Many of us have never seen each other in person. Even with coffee appointments during a fair we did not manage to arrange this.
We tried to change that by organizing a day to meet. We succeeded nicely. Kitty and Roelie where our hostess and took care for a beautiful location.
Together we did arranges a small workshop, goodies and a delicious lunch every time. Such a day was just like a little party.

In 2012, the "open evening / finish a miniature evening" were also created. There was not a workshop available for each month. But everyone had a workshop that was not ready yet. so on these evenings we tryed to finish a workshop you already started with.
The overview of the workshops in 2012.

This year I took part in two swaps.
The springswap

And a Secret Santa

It is such fun to search for al the pictures. And than see what I got for a swap and made by myself.
I am already collecting the pictures of the next year to show next month.

Anniversary - part 4

The year 2011, our fourth year as a miniatures club

Theme this month: information and ideas

Where did we get our information from. How did we find ideas to make a nice roombox or to decorate your house.
Partly because of the internet, which is becoming increasingly easier to access, it seems that our world is getting bigger and bigger. We hear and see much more.
Photos and stories of miniaturists world wide. It brings us ideas to get back to work ourselves.
It is even possible to participate in competitions in America for example. You do not have to hand in your work. A few photos is enough.

We also find out that beautiful dollhouse magazines are being released in Spain, England and America. You can even arrange a membership to regularly receive the magazine in your mailbox. In the Netherlands the Dolls House Nederland and Dollhouse & Miniatures are very well known. Some of our members have even had the honor to show their miniatures in these magazines.

Not to mention the beautiful books that are being released. From Angie Scarr how we make beautiful things with fimo clay. Or the English Jane Harrop who in her books gives complete work descriptions to make beautiful furniture from various periods. Just to  mention two.

Over the years you start to wonder if you are holding your membership in one or more magazines. There is so much beauty on the internet. You can even save all the beauty to see back in Pinterest or Instagram for example. You can also just save it on your own computer. The storage capacity is increasing also.

In addition, we ourselves are becoming more and more handy.
We are going to follow workshops to put the residents of our dollhouses in the clothes. Or follow a painting workshop to be able to hang a self-painted painting on the wall. Or go to a wood  working workshop to learn how to make marquetry or wood carvings.

Our club workshops in 2011 ensured that we received even more beautiful treasures for our houses.

Anniversary part 3

The year 2010

About Materials

By this I mean mainly waste - materials that will be thrown away by 'normal' people.

How did we actually collect these residual materials?
In part, that was easy. We throw so much away in the household that you soon discover that:
a cigarette lighter houses at least 20 small parts
a deodorant roller conceals a beautiful lampshade
that pill trips in its many sizes and shapes could serve many things
the wood of empty cigar boxes were very popular
after the turn of the year firepile wood were collected
the flea markets was a treasure island of cheap materials.
This is even not the end of the list. I could go on and on.

At that time we did a lot of  shifting back and forth with residual materials. Someone who did not see anything in waste from injection needles sent it to someone who knew how to make something beautiful with the parts.

Back to the anniversary. Well I can tell you that 2010, the year we are in this jubilee story, was a great busy craft year. Another eleven workshops were held this year. Made up and given by only members.

2010-01 Hatbox Marilo
2010-02 Knitting Blanket Monique
2010-03 Acrylic flowers Natascha
2010-04 Duffel jacket Lisette

I did not make the December workshop. I can not find the package either. Unfortunately no picture of this.

Finished

Yeah!!!!!  It took me a few years. But at last I did finish the Courtyard Project.

What started in january 2015 as a yearproject ended in april 2018. A little bit more than one year I guess.
A long time ago I collected old typewriters. As a piece of nostalgia it was a must to use the typewriter in this project. After finishing this I could finish the whole project.

The Courtyard is filled with miniatures that:
are swapped
are presents
are gifts
are selfmade
some self purchased
are workshops.

Time to work on my dragon chest now.
