This is just a mish mash of thoughts I wanted to get written down before he came.
Today I got a wonderful phone call from the chipper assistant Allegra. I got bumped up to Monday at 6am. Woo-Hoo! So, about 48 hours and this party will get started.
I looked up out of curiosity about castor oil for labor induction, that doesn't sound fun at all! I don't want to be having diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. It is supposed to clear you out and by doing so clears out the uterus as well. I'll just wait till Monday.
I wonder why people have such bad feelings about being induced. I guess since having pitocin is the only way I had Katelynn since my water broke and I wasn't really dilated, pit had to do it for me. Isn't pitocin is given to many moms (I think)? What is there to freak out about, I haven't done any research on this one.
There is definitely some mixed feelings about having a newborn. Yes, I can't wait to meet him and hold him in my arms and just be with him but I am also thinking about the total chaos and stress that also comes with a newborn. I try not to stress about it but Katelynn's newborn period still haunts me. I was a nut, happy one minute and a mess the next. Hopefully, since I know what to expect I might be able to handle it better, but who knows. I will just have to take it as it comes and pray alot.
Katelynn really has no idea what is about to hit her in a couple of days. Having her comprehend what a brother is, is just not happening. She sees the carseat in the car and the pack and play in the room, but it doesn't really mean anything to her. I just feel bad that right now she has really changed her behavior to be able to play with her toys well and entertain herself for a good twenty minutes but that might change once the baby is here and all she wants to do is touch and poke him. Patience with her is going to be a must. She is Ben's shadow lately and it is so cute to watch them. I don't think Ben can see it as much, but she really takes on his language. She just started to say easy yesterday, which is so hilarious to hear. We were in the pool yesterday and Ben was teasing the dogs by saying "booshie" which is just a Ben word, and she was right next to him saying booshie to the dogs! She asks "what doing?" and "what happen?" both with great concern. She is such a cutie!
Ben doesn't know what to do. He is so concerned that I am going to go into labor at any moment, which is true, he wants to know where I am and what I am doing at all times. I know that he is glad that he doesn't have to go to work again because he has been a stress ball while he is away. His major concern is still just getting the hospital stay over with. He doesn't want to stay a moment longer than he has to. I am concerned with the delivery but just mainly because I know too much and I have seen too much at work. I know that I will breathe easier once he is safely out. I don't need to traumatize anyone else with the stories but the delivery is a MAJOR concern.

Fake out and An Eviction Notice
Contractions aren't the easiest thing for me to describe. I don't remember feeling any contractions until I was in full labor with Katelynn and since my water broke with her it was a done deal. To me contractions feel like a huge band gradually wrapping itself around your belly making it hard to breathe. I used to think that it was just him pressing himself in an awkward positions but that wasn't true. Then my belly isn't a round basketball during a contraction it is a lumpy awkward thing. So, Sunday night Monday morning at 1:30 I went for my nightly bathroom trip and I started to feel contractions fairly regularly for two hours. I called the MD he said to come in and see what was up. I continued to feel them till we got to the hospital at 4am. After having them pretty regularly for 4 hours they stopped. I was only dialated to a 1, 50% effaced and he was at -2 station (meaning he was high still you want a +2). So, at 6:30 we went home. That sucked. I was to have an appt with my MD later that day but it was cancelled because he was delivering someone else, how rude! I was rescheduled for Tuesday. I later found out he was delivering triplets.
My hope for the appointment was to have a plan. I HATE the unknown. So, I lost 2 pounds, which is normal I guess and am at a 18 lb weight gain, with a max of 20 lbs. Everything else was normal and how it should be. He checked me and I was the same, no difference in 24 hours and my braxton hicks had slowed down to very infrequent. After talking with the MD he said to make an appt for Monday and we will go from there, because he fully expects me to deliver this weekend. As, I was getting ready to leave the office he came up to me and said that he was going to schedule an induction for Monday instead. I was thrilled! I am ready to meet this little guy that is for sure! I later got a call from his chipper assistant (really she is extremely chipper) and she said they were full on Monday and we had to move it to Wednesday, but I am on the waiting list for Monday if someone delivers I'll take their spot. So, in the end he will be here by 8/31 by something happening or pitocin. I have an appt on Monday and we shall see if I make it to it.
I do know that I have relaxed quite a bit knowing that there is a direct end to the waiting. I was getting quite angry with the unknown, I am now taking it one day at a time and we will get there.

Uncharted Territory
So, here we are two weeks before my due date and all I can think about is the fact that by this time with Katelynn, she was in my arms, and not still in my belly. It has been really difficult for us to say to ourselves that this delivery is going to be different than with Katelynn, since every delivery is different. I am to the point now that I am ready for him to come. Everything is ready. There are just a few odds and ends that would be nice to be done but not necessary.
Last night I went and had a prenatal massage at 9pm for an hour. It was so nice. Yes, it was late but Katelynn was asleep when I left and I didn't have to stress about anything besides getting into my bed when I got home. This morning I went and got a pedicure with baby blue nail polish for the upcoming festivities, Katelynn thinks they are pretty cool and keeps touching them. I had a nap for over an hour this afternoon which was needed, sleep hasn't been easy the past few days. I have been trying to relax my mind and my body as much as I can so that I can enjoy this time and not be a stress ball, which is very hard for me not to do.
I have my next OB appointment on Monday and hopefully there will be some good news, like things are progressing or when do you want to have this baby (which the answer would be, let's go to the hospital now!). I do think that I am now having infrequent contractions, I think I have had them for a few weeks but I just thought that it was him moving. Now, I think they are contractions, which makes me happy, so we can get this party started.
If we go off of Katelynn's height and weight he could be just about 8lbs (and just getting bigger by the day,) and getting close to 22 inches.
Lastly, I don't know how women can go past their due date and still be sane. I have two weeks to go and I am going nuts wanting to have him. I just can't rush this, just think calm thoughts, he will be here when he is ready, and he'll have a name too.
Come on little man, we all can't wait to meet you!

Shaver
Last Saturday we took an afternoon trip up to Shaver Lake. The drive up was not my favorite part. Ben kept wondering why I was feeling so crappy as he was driving up. It couldn't have been the fact that I am nine months pregnant, and I don't usually feel the best on winding roads, but I don't throw up. We finally made it there in one piece and of course I forget to bring any toys for Katelynn, the float stuff that we have at home or folding chairs. I am blaming the pregnancy for all of that!
Other than that stuff we really did have a great time. Katelynn didn't get in the water too much but she played by the water. She really wanted to steal the other people's floats that they had but I caught her before she really did take a float from someone. Ben went snorkeling with a friend that we brought up while Katelynn and I hung out on the shore. It was really nice since I like to go to the beach and Ben likes to go to the mountains, so we got the best of both worlds. This was probably our last trip before the baby so we tried to enjoy it.
Ben and Zak Snorkeling. They found fishing hooks, soda cans and an unopened pepsi that hadn't expired.

Pump it Up
Today we went to an Indoor bounce place called Pump it Up. Beth and Kevin had given us a gift card to go there for http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifKatelynn's birthday and I was just waiting to use it at a good time and before the baby came. Today was that day. She had a great time. She kept saying "bounce" and "fun." I know that she would love to go again, but I have no idea when that will happen.
There was a big gym obstacle course thing that she could go through, but the first time in there she got stuck and I couldn't see where she was in it and I couldn't get myself through that. I had another mom go in and see what was going on. I knew she was okay since I didn't hear her crying but she couldn't stay there the whole time. So, we got her out and she went back in there, this time she made it up the stairs and down the slide out. She got faster and faster on the maze that one time I saw her go in, but I didn't see her come out so, I thought was coming, but I looked over and there she was playing somewhere else. Going there also made for a great naptime. It is open play from 10-11:30, so we got home, ate lunch and she was in her bed waiting for me for naptime!

"Camping"
Last weekend we went to Courtwright Resivour (sp). Caleb needed Ben's help with a rock climbing expedition that he had for the youth in his stake. A friend of Ben's has a "cabin" up there and let us use it for the weekend. Well, Katelynn LOVED the whole experience. She thought it was the greatest thing.
We got to the cabin about 6pm on Thursday and got settled in. We walked in and there are no walls. Just the framing with electrical and plumbing going through it. The electricity works with a generator, which was way too loud so we turned that off and the plumbing just goes to one toilet, that we spent a good 30 minutes trying to find the valve to turn on the plumbing. So, it was pretty much an over sized tent with a toilet. We probably won't stay there again until more walls are up and more plumbing is working.
Sleeping wasn't great since there was a queen bed but Katelynn had to sleep with us. In between us. Kicking us. Laying on top of us. So, we learned our lesson there. Katelynn is a crazy women when she sleeps. And no, she does not sleep with us at home. The next day was when Ben did his climbing thing with Caleb. I decided that staying at the cabin would not be a fun choice so here I went tromping through the woods 9 months pregnant. It was a 15 min walk that Katelynn was able to do. She did really well there and had a great time checking out the ants on steroids. She was able to walk all the way there but was not interested in walking back so, Ben had to carry her out. We decided to leave when Ben was finished that afternoon. Sleeping there another night didn't sound so exciting.
I am glad that we went though. It was something for us to do together. Katelynn did pretty well for the drive. She watched some movies slept a little and we didn't have any whining in the car. It wasn't until the last twenty minutes to home that she vomited. We ate dinner at Shaver and then 30 minutes later when it happened. So, we are aware of that now and will prepare ourselves for that next time.
I have a couple of pics but i forgot to take my camera out of the bag so they are on my phone.

Mulan
A few weeks ago we watched Mulan and then went out to the pool to swim. Well, you know how they were targeting with those dragon bombs in the movie when we went out to the pool she was targeting with the water guns that we have. It was hilarious to see her do that.
Sh Sh SH
Katelynn has learned a new way of getting our attention and wanting us to be quiet. She will come up to you, hunch over a little, shake her hands in her face and say Sh SH SH. I can't wait to watch her do that with the baby!
She has started to line things up. Her little people toys and the Magnets on the fridge are the most popular.
I am really trying to enjoy these last few days that we have with just her. It will be so hard and different after the baby I just want to cherish the time that we have now together.

36 Weeks
And time has come to a stand still. I really don't remember being this uncomfortable and ready to have the little man last time. I think it has something to do with thhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gife fact that Katelynn doesn't allow much time for rest throughout the day. Who would have thought that a two year old would keep you so busy? Just kidding.
Things are really going good. I am up to 19 lbs. Blood pressure is good. He moves in the most awkward positions and has dropped. I am starting to feel that if he drops any more he will be out. I haven't had any braxton hicks contractions and my feet haven't been swollen. I am just a really slow mover and the wretched nasal congestion has seemed to come back in full force. I really hope to be able to breathe better once he is born. http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
Katelynn has become really good at the dodging game when we need her to come to us which doesn't help me since I can't move quick to get her.
36 weeks with Katelynn. That is too funny. I am wearing the same shirt and look almost the same. I am hoping that this time I will be able to get one last picture of me at the hospital, but as we can see by those last few posts who knows what can happen.
As for his pregnancy book I have it totally completed except for writing in the details and putting in the pictures.
Nesting
The house is pretty much ready for him to come. I am trying to stay on top of the regular cleaning now so that the house might be clean when we come home from the hospital. I cleaned the front of the fridge and that looks amazing. I didn't realize how gross that was. Ben cleaned the shower and Katelynn helped wipe the walls. The carseat is ready and the pack and play is inside. I have a few meals in the freezer and am making another tonight.
I guess we are down to the wire so that means that we will be getting down the big stuff this weekend. Like the swing, rocker chair, bassinet to the Pack and Play, and some things that I used with Katelynn that I need like burp cloths white, onesies, the boppy. I think all of that will make it even more real. I just have been putting off getting that stuff down since Katelynn is just going to play with it all and be in it when I don't want her to. Fun is coming.
