4th of July

We had a very low key day. We just hung out with us three. We had a BBQ lunch because having it later when it was so hot was not something that Ben was looking forward to. We went swimming in the afternoon and had some fireworks that evening.

This was Katelynn's first time seeing fireworks. She slept through them for the past two years. We weren't sure if she would make it this year but she did and was a pretty happy camper. She held some sparklers and was fascinated by them. Ben got some flowers and so we went to the street to set them off.
The neighbors across the street had quite a few that we watched and we saw a few illegal ones that were pretty good too.

Katelynn had a great time. She saw that we were covering our ears when a piccolo pete would go off and she thought that we were covering our cheeks. So, she would put her hands up to her little cheeks it was so cute.

Side note, this is how Katelynn regularly watches her shows. She's so cute.

Swim Lessons

I had decided that putting Katelynn in Swim lessons this year would be a good thing for her. We started with a mommy and me class, which she loved. But she was WAY too advanced for these lessons. I had no idea what to expect with her and the pool. Well, the pool and Katelynn are best friends. So, after we left that first Mommy and me class I had to switch her into a private lesson so that she could advance and get the instruction that she really needed.
She has had a total of six lessons now and is really a little fish. She will easily go under water to get the rings and she is working on the combination of jumping in, swimming to the edge and getting out. We haven't taught her how to jump off things so she tends to walk off the edge of the pool, so she barely will clear the egde of the pool sometimes.
We have our little 3 foot doughboy pool that she is able to stand above the water just fine but she will go up and down in the water. She is learning her bouancy and will try to get her tummy and butt up so that she can kick.
It has been really amazing to watch her flourish and learn how to get the basics of swimming learned. She has four more lessons and I am sure she will love them.
Here are some pics that I have taken. I haven't taken them at each lesson but I will get a little video and some for the last few lessons.

Swimming to the edge

She gets distracted easily and was staring at a fat cat on the deck.

The Island

About a month age we went to The Island with Sarah, Max and Jesse. Katelynn thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. We slowly made our way up the levels of slides. We went down the whale. A slide with Mommy.
Then a tube slide with Jesse.

Then I let Sarah, Max and Jesse take her on the bigger slide while I took pictures of them coming down. I called up to Sarah to know when she was coming down and she then pointed to the biggest slide. She some how made her own way up to the biggest slide and came down sliding with the biggest grin on her face.
She went up and down quite a few times and loved it.

I soon found out though that she wasn't waiting her turn. She would get up to the line and cut in front of the four or five other kids. Little Stinker. So, I started going up with her and making her wait which was such torture for her, but it isn't nice to cut.
We went on the Lazy River and into the wave pool. She was okay in the river but didn't really like the waves from the wave pool. She was being tossed around like a little feather. They had a great time playing in the water spouts.

We were there for about three hours before she started losing all sense of reality and so we went home for nap time.
It was really fun and I know that she will keep enjoying going. We probably will go one more time before the baby comes.

32 Weeks

I am about a month behind in my blogging so I am hoping to get caught up real quick. This was me at 32 weeks 7/8/11.

Me at 32 weeks with Katelynn
I had an appointment last week and another next week.
I am up to a weight gain of 15 pounds and am really starting to feel beat up physically. Rolling over in bed is harder, getting out of bed is worse, I am really hoping the third trimester burst of energy comes soon. He should be here in about 4-6 weeks, which sounds both far away and just right around the corner. I have went through every room in the house on a major clean up mission and have only the kitchen left to go through. I have cleaned out the fridge, which made so much room in there. I am making little goals for me to get done and that has been working out the best.
I made a freezer meal last night and so I have one dinner ready just about a month or so to make.
