Christmas is over!

Yesterday was exactly one year since we got the keys to our house. I really cannot believe that it has been a year. It was went by very quickly and here it is almost 2008. They say as you get older time goes by much quicker, then once you have a house it goes even quicker, then once you have kids it is over. I do believe that. 2007 was the quickest year I can remember.
We do need a recap on the past week though, with all the crazy hooplah going on.

Last Sunday we went over to my parents house and spent Christmas with them. Everyone had fun of course here are a couple of my favorite pics.

My Sisters and I all got together some photos and made my parents a calendar which they loved.
The tent was a big hit everyone was having fun getting in it.

Christmas Eve we went to Ben's parent's house and had Christmas with them. We were there with Caleb and Micah's families too. It is always nice to get together. Just wish that everyone could be there.
Whenever Ben is around the kids you know that it is going to get loud and crazy. There is always alot of "Uncle Ben can you play with me?"

We told the kids that Santa was coming and so Eden had to check outside to see if she could see Santa. Too cute.

I made Mary a calendar with all the Birthday's and Anniversaries on it. It is easily modifiable to add more Birthdays when they come.
Christmas Day and the day after I worked. Ben went snowboarding one of those days. We also went over to the Zarco's Christmas night for some La Abuelita, Mexican hot chocolate. We got there at about 8:30 and didn't leave until after 11pm. So much for a quick visit! but we had a blast there. Sis Zarco was kneading Masa for tamales which Ben then helped to make. We laughed ALOT! Ate ALOT! and finally had some Hot Chocolate. We also got to take hoe some of the tamales Ben made. We might have to make Christmas night at the Zarco's a tradition. It really was so much fun being with their family. I just wish I would have brought my camera.

On Thursday we went shopping. I got some material from the gift card to JoAnn's I got from Mary. I was going to make a dress from it, but I think I might make a quilt. We shall see what happens. We went over the Beth and Kevin's to give Tara and Brynne their tent.
Beth was gracious enough to make Ben a Birthday cake.
Friday Ben went snowboarding again with Nate this time while I stayed home and took down Christmas.
Saturday we went over to Gert's house to empty most of it out for construction workers to come and put in new carpet, new windows, new appliances, granite counter tops and some other repairs to the house. Gert was still recovering from her surgery so she won't be home until Monday, but she will be there while they are doing all the construction. We shall see what she does when everything is new in the house. Hopefully it won't be a cluttery mess like it is now.
Beth and Kevin then came out to the house and just played. We played Hungry Hungry Hippos, we played outside, we played with nerf guns, we play the Wii, and then we watched Nanny McPhee. The Mitchell's came over for a few minutes and brought their Christmas tree to Burn. I had never seen or done that. I will have to post the pics later.
Today, I stayed home from church to hopefully get over this cold so that I can go to work tomorrow. We shall see. Well I think I jabbed on long enough I will type at you all later.

Church Chaos

Can you believe it I am actually going to post something two days in a row. Maybe I will get on a roll?? Doubt it but hey, ya never know.
So, this morning we got up by eight and started lazily getting ready. Then Ben decides he want to make cookies for his class, but what he really means is = Anna, do you have time now that it is nine and church starts at ten to make some cookies? I don't know why but I did it and he was happy and some how we made it to church while they we singing the opening hymn granted we did sit in the second row of the chapel.
In Young Womens they started planning the activities they wanted to do for Wednesday nights and the first activity is Slumber Party at our house. I guess since we have no kids and extra room it will work. It should be fun and I have no idea if there will be slumbering occuring.
Well, hope all is well, I really need to wrap presents, we shall see what happens. the Kitchen is also calling.

Type at you all later.

Yo!

I have something that I have to do first. Ammy "tagged" me and I am supposed to write 6 things about me you may our may not know.

1. I love pastel colors. You may not know that by looking at the colors in my house, but I am the secret agent for the Easter Bunny. LOL!!!
2. 90% of my wardrobe is from Old Navy. If I am needing a new shirt or pants the first place I go is Old Navy.
3. I have to be productive before I can get on the computer. I have to make a list or a mental list of the things that need to be done, or else if I get on to the computer I will not get off, but will I accomplish much in the time that I am on the computer...NO.
4. I have to have routine, lists, or "missons" as Ben likes to call them. If there is something that I want to get done , you cannot deter me from it and if I am deterred from it I am usually cranky because that was not how it was supposed to go.
5. We buy and usually put up our Christmas tree on the 1st of December. I want to have as much time with it up as possible but I do not want it up in November.
6. I cannot sit still. I am always fidgeting with my nails or hair. I am trying to work on this.
Now back to our irregularly scheduled programming. I told Erin that I would take a pic of our house with the lights on. Here it is.
It isn't the greatest pic but you get the general idea. Ben really wants to get the blow up Santa on a motorcycle, but that ain't going to happen. Here is our tree.
There is absolutley no rhyme or reason to the tree. It is just the stuff I like. I have never done a themed tree, I think that would be hard. Would you have the same theme every year or do you change it up every year? I just don't know.
Today was Max and Jesse's Birthday Party. Here is a couple of pics from that.

Singing Happy Birthday to Max, he was very scared and thought that we were a bunch of lunatics singing to him.

Jesse loving every minute of the lunatics singing to him. This is great stuff why don't we do this every day!

Max absolutlely loving the "Cars" cars. He could not wait to get his hands on them and the fight with Jesse over them.
Well I am going to the Ward Christmas Party, Wish me luck! :)Type at you all later.

PS Yes Sarah, I will be sending you the pics soon.

What Happened to November?!?!?!

Here it is the 29th of November and I think that I have posted here twice this month. That really sucks. The trip was great. We didn't loose any of our luggage, we weren't delayed anywhere, everything seemed to go smoothly.

We got into St Louis about 1am Saturday and met up with Kris. We went to the Gateway Arch and went inside of it. The capsule to ride in to the top was so tiny, you were leaned over sitting inside of it with four other people. It was not very comfortable at all. The trip up was only 4 min so that was a good thing I wouldn't had wanted it to be any longer. We also went on a Mississippi River Boat Dinner Cruise. This is definitally a tourist thing to do but since we were tourists it was fun and the food was great. We also went by the St Louis Temple. It is a little bit bigger than Fresno's but not by much. There was a Candy and Soda Pop shop that we had heard about while searching what to do in St Louis so we went there and it was in the hood. The buildings around it were all rundown and falling down. When we pulled up to the Shop there were two cop cars out front getting their dinners. By the inside of the store you wouldn't have been able to tell that it was like that. I am gload that we were able to meet up with Kris and Mandy. Ben has been wanting to see him for a long time. I think since we got married so we finally found the oppurtunity to go. Here are some pics from St Louis.

This Arch is 630 ft. It is dagum tall. Up at the very top is the windows that you can look out of and see on the Kansas side and see Missouri the Kansas side we heard is the hood so we didn't venture over to there.

Here is all of us. Kris with his girlfriend Mandy.

The Riverboat Tom Sawyer is the one that we went on.

The St Louis Temple. There was a Security officer in the Parking lot probabaly thinking "Crazy Mormons" since we were driving around there on a Sunday. He should be used to it though, members are probably taking pictures there all the time for engagments and weddings, Family photos and those Crazy Tourists.

Well that was St Louis in a nut shell. I'll write about Nauvoo and Kansas City later. Type at you all later!

Ta Ta for now

So, we are off the see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of OZ! Not quite but close enough. I just looked at the weather for the midwest and it is supposed to snow! The beginning of the week will be fine but after Wed it is giong to be cold. I have never seen snow on Thanksgiving. That's what I get for being a Califorina Girl. Hopefully we won't get frozen out. I have to go and get some thermals now. (Yes, I am a wuss job, and I don't know how to spell wuss hopefully that is right).

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and hope that all your travels to family and friends are safe.

Life Happens

So.... yeah, I thought that blogging would be a whole lot easier, but life seems to get into the way. Even though you would say I do spend quite a bit of time on the computer it would be easy for me to just sit and type someting out, but I don't I just doodle around the internet and get away from the things that I should be doing, like cleaning or packing or even the Christmas presents that need to be finished. Well, I do have a few weeks for the Christmas presents but I like to get things done and out of the way. Life is good though, I really can't complain.

Tonight we had Family Home Evening at Mary and RW's and it was okay. We had one person that was really hurting the atmosphere, being a peanut gallery while the lesson was being given, trying to be the center of attention, it just wasn't fair to the lesson giver. It was a start to us trying to have Family Home Evenings, hopefully they will get better. We are going to rotate where they are at and do this once a month.

So, I need a pair of pants. I went to Old Navy in hopes of finding a pair. It was a terrible disaster. I have decided that I need to be shorter and skinnier. I don't know how to get to the shorter part and the skinnier part doesn't look to easy either. I guess those chocolate Chip cookies I made today won't help the situation too. While we are on the subject of Chocolate chip cookies I think we had found a secret to making fluffy cookies. Let the butter soften naturally. If you put it in the microwave it breaks down the components of the butter and makes the cookie flat. We have had the best cookies lately since we have started doing this. It has been awesome. I just use the recipie on the tollhouse bag, nothing special.

Hope everyone is doing well. I will type at you all later!

Wa-hoo!

I am so excited. I was able to accomplish so much stuff today. It helped so much that I had a pre-planned list of everything that I wanted to get done and I did all of it except for one thing and that was planting my tulips. I really am excited to plant them I am just waiting for it to get a little cooler. I have to have them planted though before we leave. It still has been pretty warm (high 70's to low 80's) around here lately and I read something that said you don't want to plant them when it is too warm or else they may think it is spring, instead of going dormant. So, we will see what tomorrow brings I may find some time in the afternoon.

What I did do today was Clean the bedroom, change the sheets, wash and dried them, cleaned the toilets, cleaned the kitchen, vacummed the kitchen, went grocery shopping, went to the Police Department to order the police report, Wrapped a baby shower gift for tomorrow, worked on both sets of parents christmas gifts, Emailed a few people, talked to my sisters, did some scrapbooking, and made dinner. Yes, I know this can all be done when you don't have kidlets running around calling your name and demanding your attention. I really don't know what in the world I am going to do when my own kidlets arrive. I really do thrive on me time and that will be so limited, I guess I will have to get over all my me time and take what I can get.

Tomorrow I am going to a baby shower for a co-worker at the Olive Garden for lunch, Soup Salad and Breadsticks, here I come baby! Well, hope all of you guys had a wonderful day type at you all later!

Time

Where does time go? I swear it was just June, I really don't think that summer has finished yet, but here we are 3 days from November. My Christmas shopping is in full swing. The kids are all done it is just the adults. They are so much harder than the kids. I am also having a harder time figuring out what to get Ben, with his birthday days later it makes it even harder to come up with two gifts. Then, since he is going to be the big 3-0 I have to do some type of get together, what ever I do it will be all about the paper plates and NO cooking. Since it is his party, I am in charge and I want it to be easy!

Last weekend we went down to visit with Caleb and Heather and had a great time. We went to the LA temple on Friday night and I had never been there, even when I was younger we would only go to Oakland, my parents hated LA traffic. It was a totally different experience going there instead of Fresno. Saturday we hung out while Heather had to get ready for the Primary program the next day. By the way Heather, yours was way better than ours. I think that we had four duet/solos and when one of the soloists is four they are stretching. We did go to Ikea and got a few things. One was a Hippo that Ben loves. He watches THIS on You Tube and is now in love with Hippos.

We also got down comforters. We had to get two twin ones because we can't share. Ikea had this huge and awesome selection of covers but I didn't want to pick one up and then get it home and not like it, then have to wait until we went to Ikea again to return it. Well, if I would have known that Ikea hase the largest selection of covers in twin size I would have spent a few more minutes looking at them and getting one. I have went to Linen's and Things, JcPenny home, Bed bath and beyond and Khols with no luck as to a nice twin cover there is more types in Queen and King but they don't have the same in Twin. So, now it is internet hunting I go. Hopefully I can find something I like.

What is everyone and their kidlets going to be? I am going to be a nurse working all day while Ben passes out the Candy that I have yet to buy, that is on my to do list for tomorrow. Well I am going to go I will type at you all later!

Sorry!!

I have been MIA for almost two weeks now. It really has been crazy busy. Everyday there has been one thing or another keeping me away from the computer. Which isn't so bad but I do like to just doodle around on the computer and do nothing much. Everyday that I have been off we have been doing something related to getting the car taken care of, but I think that it is now over.
Last Tuesday the auto body shop that we were keeping the car at called and asked us to come in to look at a few dents to see if they were from the wreck or from other stuff. It was on the passenger side of the car so it was not from the wreck but while we were there we talked with the appraiser and he said that the damage that he had tallied up was about $15,000 and the same car in our area was selling for 16,500. That damage didn't even include the engine, since the battery was dead, they hadn't even had a chance to see the damage to that. A car is considered totalled if the damage of the car is greater than 70% of the value. So, when the estimator told us that we decided to go and check out cars since we wouldn't be getting that one back. Of course we got another Sub, we go a 2008 subaru outback, it has more head room, ground clearance, an MP3 player and heated seats.
Well, I hope that everyone is well. Ammy, I am so sorry to hear about your Grandpa, but he is in such a better place. Type at you all later.

It is just a Bad Dream......NOT!!!

Last night after I got home from work Ben and I decided that we were hungry and went to Fosters for some ice cream and then over to Taco Bell for some tacos. We were then heading west on Jensen Ave home when we came to the intersection of Greenwood and Jensen there is a signal light there with no directional arrows since we were heading straight and the light was green we were on our merry little way until the black SUV that was heading east on Jensen and turning North on to Greenwood decided not to wait for us to get through the intersection and hit us. We were going 30-35 and she was going 5-15 mph. She hit us on the Drivers side of the engine. No one was really hurt, we are both a little stiff this morning and getting alittle sorer as the day goes. When she hit us we slid into another SUV and barely tapped her bumper. She immediately got out of the car and called 911 and everyone (police, fire fighters, and ambulance)was there in 2 min. The lady we bumped into was really nice and I am so glad that she and her passengers were there so that they could tell the police officer what happened. She even helped us try to clean up the banana split, caramel sundae, smoothie mess that was splattered everywhere, which is probably stinking inside the car right now as I type.

The girl that was driving the car was 20 and she was in there with her younger sister, not even 1 min after the accident the dad was there yelling that it was our fault, saying that we ran a red light. Which he would later find was not true and that his daughter was soley at fault (the police officer even admitted that it was her fault). Just so that everyone knows, if you do not have a directional arrow for you to turn with you are supposed to wait behind the line until it is clear, then you can pull out and turn (I did not know that). So, even if it was true that we had run the red light, we both would have been at fault because she ran the red light too, by being out in the intersection before it was clear for her to turn. The dad was trying really hard to make it seem that we were at fault, by asking if our lights were on, which they are always on because we have the daytime running lights.

So, we called the insurance aganecy this morning and gave them the police report number, we didn't collet any information about the other drivers ourselves because the police officer was doing that but it wouldn't have helped too much as this is a weekend and we can't really get anything started until Monday. We went to the rental place and got a car, and we went over to the subaru dealership to see what they had. There is a possibility that it is totalled but we will have to wait to see what the assessment comes out as. And now for the piece-de-resistance.... the pictures, I have to scrap book this, you know.

This was at the tow yard this morning. It was closed so we weren't able to get closer. We don't know the engine damages since we hadn't opened the hood, but it won't start, or switch gears. So, hope every one else had a better weekend. Type at you all later.

Haircut woes

This morning I had a Hair cut, but it was more like a hair trim. This is what I hate about hair, I just spent $50 on this hair trim and I am supposed to go back in another 8 weeks for a trim and spend another $50 bucks on it. Yes, I could go to Supercuts and spend $8 but I have been there before and got the crapiest haircut ever, it wasn't even layered it was just a straight cut and she didn't cut it straight. So, I don't trust places like that. I have to decide if I want to go longer between the hair cuts or if I should just deal with spending the money. What do you guys do? Do you go every eight weeks or just whenever yo can fit it in?

I also went to lunch with a girl friend of mine from high school, whom I hadn't seen for over a year and in that time she had a baby boy Jackson, dagum, the time just flew by without me even knowing it. We sat and talked at the Olive garden for an hour and a half and I thought it might have been an hour. Time flies when your having fun. We just need to keep track of eachother more hopefully we won't let a year go by like that again.

Well, I am going to be working for the next few days and Ben is hopefully, Weather permitting, going to go on an overnight camping trip. He has been dying to go and now that he has someone to go with it might rain. Type at you all later, and have a great weekend!

Short and sweet

I can now say that digital scrapbooking has helped me shop for Christmas. On a forum that I visit frequently they had thread for an amazing deal on a toddler boy toy, and since I know a few I checked it out. It was this:
It was regularly 9.99 plus 5.49 for shipping and handling, but it was on sale for 4.99 and then using the Promotional code of 25fall you get an additional 25% off plus free shipping. So, I paid $4.03 for it to ship to CA. The coupon code for the 25% off is good for the whole store, so if this isn't what you want there are many other things for babies, girls and boys there.

Here's the link if you are interested.

I hope that everyone is doing well. I got an e-mail from my dad who is visiting in Utah/Idaho that they ended up going to Becca's earlier than planned because she ended up getting the flu from Owen and had to get IV Fluids. I talked with my mom on the phone later and she seems so happy and having so much fun with Becca, Chet, and Owen. They are making some quilts and shopping for the baby. I am glad that they are all having a good time.

Well, I am going to make it short today. I will type at you all later.

Loose Ends

For having no plans for the day, we did quite a bit. I woke up at 8 and made breakfast while Ben pretended to sleep and he came out of the room at the exact moment that I was getting ready to sit and eat. He was excited for that. We watched the first session of General Conference over the Internet, we had a surprisingly good connection for it, usually we have to watch it in between the sessions because is gets sssooo laggy. I am excited to see that they chose Eyring to replace Faust in the Presidency. I have always liked him.

Then Ben decided that he wanted to go for a run so we did a 3 mile loop, I biked (I hate running). Ben has lost 32 lbs since the beginning of the year and wants to get into the 240's. He doesn't want to get to the weight he was at the end of his mission, he was way too skinny and unhealthy looking. We then went into town to REI, Ben got some pants and a Dry Pack. The most important thing we did was go over to JcPenny Home and pick out some Curtians for the Sliding Door. The door is such an awkward size, 72" wide and 94" tall. We have been delaying this so much because I really didn't want to get vertical blinds, but their really aren't any options for sliding doors but we ended up with these.

Now I have to find some sort of a valence for the top. The smaller window has one but I don't remember one for the big window but it looks really tacky seeing all the metal hardware. Hopefully these will work. The most wonderful thing about them is that Ben put them up already. I am so excited for that, and I didn't have to beg and plead.

So, with all this organizing going on we then cleaned out the Garage got things off the floor and shop vac'd up all the dagum rat poop. Yes, the most wonderful thing about having a field behind us is the rats that like our garage. We have stopped them from coming in the garage a few months ago but they had left their tracks. We have this one inch gap at the bottom of the side door of the garage and rats were coming in and out, and I didn't know until Ben told me, I really liked being oblivious to them. Ben talked to the pest guy that comes once a month and he gave us some sticky pads to place at the door to catch them. We put them out the first night and caught TWO mice, I told Ben to do something with them so he did, he put on a glove and SET THEM FREE!! Don't ask an animal lover to throw away an animal, whatever they were gone. We set the trap again and caught another mouse and Ben set him free again. We finally put a board up and blocked the gap and haven't caught one since, that has been since July, so it is now cleaned up and stuff is put into the attic and life is good. Ben and Jerome Petrich are now playing Halo 3, Ben rented it from Blockbuster.

I think that is enough for one day. I will type at you all later.

Done

Three days, 37.5 hours, 39.5 hours including traveling time and I am now home for the weekend. It seems rare that I actually have a weekend like other full-time employees. You know, like only having Sat and Sun off and them going to work again on Mon. Well, this is how this weekend is working out to be, I have to go back on Monday, I guess my only saving grace is that it is for Mon and Tues only. Hopefully these two days won't fly by, but the will, they always do, even if I force myself to do nothing.
Did you know that having nothing to do for the weekend is the greatest thing ever. I love having nothing to do. It means I can do whatever the heck I want to do without feeling guilty that I am neglecting something else.
I have now offically unpacked all of the boxes from the move, which occurred only nine months ago (I feel like that mom on "The Incredibles" movie when she is on the phone telling her Husband that she had offically unpacked, but they had been living there for years, at least i am not that bad :)). It was all of my sewing and crocheting stuff that I didn't want to go through because I knew that I needed to go through it and get rid of some of the crappy missmatched stuff I had. It only took about an hour and I was able to do it all while talking on the phone to Becca, multi-tasking Woo-Hoo! That back room is so nice and organized now I just like to go in there and look at it, I know, how lame could I be, but organization is something that I thrive on.
On to some other exciting news, oh no, not any news from me, but Becca just had her 20 week ultrasound, the baby has two ventricles in the brain, four chambers in the heart, four limbs, spinal cord and intestines in their proper places too (everything which is listed is what you want in case you were wondering, the midway ultrasound is NOT meant to find out the sex of the baby its to make sure that the baby is healthy, the gender identification is an added bonus for those who wish to do that) Becca and Chet wanted to know the sex so they are going to have a Girl. My Mom and Dad who are in Utah and will be heading up to Idaho to visit them in a week have already bought all sorts of girly frilly things and they have only known for ten hours!! I guess my Mom was just waiting anxiously for one of us to have a girl. Four grandsons, she wanted a granddaughter bad. Congratulations, Becca, Chet and Big Brother Owen!
Well, ladies and gents hope you all have a wonderful day and I will type at you later!

Brynne's Birthday

Last night we went to Brynne's Birthday Party. Us, Beth, Kevin, Mary and R.W. were there. Brynne was so very excited to open her presents you can see in the corner of the first pic the Barbie that Mary and R.W. gave her. It is a John Deere Barbie, which we have all decided, has the Longest Legs ever. I really do not remember my Barbies being that skinny or having that long of legs. I guess that after twenty years things change.
We got Brynne an outfit which she promptly tried on. It is also the same outfit that I got for Hannah's Third Birthday.

Here's Brynne Blowing out her candle

We had a nice time talking and catching up a little. Nothing too exciting or dramatic happened which is always good.
Well I hope that you all have a wonderful Tuesday. I don't know if I will be on tomorrow since I will be at work. I usually leave here in the morning at 6:20 and don't get home untill 8. Since I have to work three days I am trying to save all my energy so I can make it through those days. Sometimes 12 hours really sucks. I just hope i have a good assignment. I will type at you all later.

First Try

So, I don't know who will read this or when. I am giving this whole blog thing a try though. It will be mainly my space to talk about what I like and the happenings of our little family. This weekend was crazy. Thursday my parents came over for dinner and we had a good time just hanging out. Friday we went to dinner with Sarah and Mike for Sarah's Birthday and the company was good but not the food. We went to TGI Fridays and Nothing was like what the menu had described. Saturday I went to work and Ben went to Kings Canyon. He has really been dying to do some Hiking but he hasn't met anyone that wants to go regularly. I am usually working every other Saturday and I am not a good hiking buddy, I complain alot. ecspecially if there is alot of uphill.
Sunday we had a family from our ward over for dinner and had a great time with them. We had been to there house for dinner a few times so Ben invited them over. They are a hispanic family and thought it was a real treat to have "American" food. We had Tri-Tip, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Corn and Rice Pilaf. The traditional Moore menu with plenty of leftovers. It was so funny I used my Kitchen Aide Mixer to mash the potatoes and they had never seen a mixer in use before, the oldest daughter who is 23 and has two kids helped with the gravy (I had her stir it so it wouldn't get clumpy, nothing is worse than clumpy gravy), and she had never made gravy before! When we served the dinner we had it buffet and the women went first, at their house it is guests, men then women. The mom thought that dinner was so nice because she wasn't slaving in the kitchen and got to sit first. When we have been over there she is mixing and making things the entire time that we are there and finally she sits to eat. They are such a great family!
Today and tomorrow I am off. Woo-Hoo!! We are going to Beth and Kevin's for Dinner since it is Brynne's Birthday. Happy Birthday Brynne!
Ben has a Jury summons that started today but when we called Friday they didn't need him today so we will call again tonight. Last time he got out of it, and I was close to being on a Jury after sitting in the jury room all day waiting and watching movies. Well I guess that this is good for a first post. Type at you all later.
