Finally got the time to write something down for this journey. Sometimes, it's still kinda surreal, you know, when I wake up and I hear some Americans speaking, I'd still go, "Huh?" Right, gota tweak my mind to US channel. To quote someone, he said it was like "Living inside the TV show" hehe.. but fact is that, I AM IN THE UNITED STATES!!!

So firstly, let me start with the journey here. It was really sweet for En. Rashid and my friends to send me off at the airport. Before checking-in at the airport, we went visiting a friend who had high fever (hopefully he is fine now), but he was still able to sit up and chat. Then, after checking in at the airport with Mei May, I actually did something quite 'adventuruous', I left my luggages with Mei May and I went off for dinner with the rest. En. Rashid assured me that it was pretty nearby. BUT, the drive to the place took more than half the time I had for dinner! So in the back of my mind I was thinking,"Still need to wait for the food to be cooked ler? After eating gonna chat a while rite? Uhoh.. How to get back in time wor? If I missed the plane, gone la my 5k?" So back in the van, I was quite jumpy. Anyhoo, we arrived safely at the place, Nurul's I think somwhere near the place where u just got off Penang Bridge. Some of the PPSL friends I met during the camp were there as well. Good thing was the food was already waiting for us! Nice... It was reli a good meal! and it's making me drool even right now. I totally loved the ikan bakar. One of the best I've tried. U should totally give this place a visit. Nad and gang was reli gracious to treat me for the dinner T.T terkam-tungness. To cut the long story short, eventually I made it to the airport in time (if not I won't be here). haha.

In the Silk-Air flight to Singapore, cam-whored a lot wif Mei May.

Besides cam-whoring, this is what kept her busy during the flight
Intellectual
She was a fellow cam-whorer as well. Lol. Had a great time talking. Though mostly it's empty crap lol. She's like this girl who's constantly on sugar-high. Really good to have her around if u wana be cheered up :D Not available in Delta Airlines :P

Changi airport was lovely... Super big cos I never would have imagined it being so big. It has got lotsa interesting places to visit, besides the usual duty free shopping, there's this entertainment place for transitting travellers which includes X-box 360, PS3, theatre, Jamming studio, etc. And there's a free internet area, as well as a place where weary travellers can sleep comfortably (at a place where they showcase some innovative chairs and cushion which are great to sleep on). Anyways, met up with Kai Liang there at the airport and we later travelled on to Tokyo-Narita Airport. The flight was totally delightful. Personal LCD screen, nice in-flight meal, good beverages and steady flight.

Tokyo-Narita airport was smaller compared to Changi, I think. We visited a few shops, and took LOTSA pictures at one origami shop. The Origami works were amazing. And as we were roaming around, and onlining at the free internet desk, I just scanned through the time that was on the clock on the wall. It was 3.32 p.m. I think. and because we didn't set our time to Japan's we were quite time-disoriented. "Wait a min, I thought our flight was 4.00 p.m.?! The gate closes 20 mins before a flight!" I quickly informed the rest and grabbed our stuffs and sprinted to the gate. Thank God, they were still lining up to board the aircraft. Phew! That was another scary experience. To our dismay though, we were arranged to sit in the middle of the aircraft this time. Cramped space, and no personal LCD like that of the SIN-NRT flight, the audio at my seat was spoilt. 11 plus hours flight!! So basically what we did was, sleep, eat, drink, watch something on my netbook, and the cycle continued. The in-flight meal was not bad. The Japanese dude beside me was kind at first, but was kinda agitated later on bcos I always needed the restroom, and I was always moving I guess. Ah well, I don't mind switching places u noe. Anyways, we arrived safely in Minneapolis-St Paul! Security was a chore. Somehow I was called into a waiting area together with Kai Liang. Waited for a while, helped a chinese woman to translate the question posted by the officers, and was released shortly after. According to them, my name was similiar to another person's. O.o David was chosen for something, so his time there was longer. Something like to give feedback after the whole course of studying here.

To be continued...(more pics to be added to this post, blogger problem)

Today was an interesting day. Went to places around KL using lotsa public transport. I can pretty much go a lot of places now, just with lrt.

So first off, tried to take a cab from Puncak Seri Kelana where my aunt stays. I couldn't follow them cos was busy sleeping. Heh. First few tries weren't successful.
First try: (note that the following conversation was in cantonese. Yea, my broken cantonese. well, at least the dude understood :P)
"Kelana Jaya LRT station?"
"Erm, I'm not too sure where that is.."
"Where are you stationed?"
"KL area. I got here cos the customer before you gave direction."
"wooo..kay.. wait, i call my aunty to give u direction"
Speaking to aunty in hokkien, and trying to pass the phone over to the driver
"
I dono how!" *shakes head and hands
"Mandarin?"
"I dono how!" *shakes head and hands
"English?"
"I dono how!" *shakes head and hands and apologised.
"ok, nvm." =.= Got off the cab. but i somehow thinks he deliberately didnt want to send me. I mean, c'mon, u dono mandarin and english, and ur surviving as a taxi driver in KL just with canton?? u muz be kiddin'
Anyways, almost wanted to wait for the bus, and after a prayer, a taxi appeared! hmm!

So had a lil' chat wif the taxi driver, and he suggested that I go masjid india for better quality baju melayu. And so i took the LRT to masjid jamek. Went to ask around, and the prices can go up to 100++!!! wow. super totally outa my budget. But one of the shop keeper recommended this shop, Anis'. Finally after some walking and asking around, and about to give up, I finally saw Anis'! the shopkeeper was friendly. A sabahan named John, but he's a Malay.
"I nak beli baju melayu. Ada yang macam display tu? RM 29 punya."
"Ada..Siapa nak pakai?"
"Sayalah"
"Serious??"
Lol. He was pretty proud that I'm buying this for my exchange to US. He was telling his colleague,"Dia Cina! tapi nak pakai baju melayu kita pergi US!"*muka bangga* lol.. I tot of getting a baju melayu cos it's more unique compared to samfu, which could probly be bought in some china street in minneapolis. Anyways, settled for a set which costs 61. Tried to bargain with the taukenio, but 1 ringgit oso she din wana discount. She said, it's oledi discounted item. Oh well, good buy anyways.

And so it was around 12. So i tot I could catch the LRT to titiwangsa and meet Siaw ching and Qian Yi, but then I realised. I was wearing shorts! Decided to try my luck anyways. Tot the guards in UKM KL would be as nice as KKj's. Upon reaching Titiwangsa station, a taxi driver wanted to chop me by offering a ride, which was RM30! *&)@$ i called siaw ching to ask, and if not for her and qianz, I would have been a victim. Thank goodness, I saw a row of taxi outside, and so I took one of them to Jln Temerloh.

When the taxi almost went inside the hostel, the guard stopped the taxi.
"U tahun berapa?"
"Tahun 3 (tetapi bukan di sini :P)"
"Tahun 3 u masih tak tau taxi tak boleh masuk??!"
So i paid the uncle for the taxi,
*meter was showing 4.40* "4.40 ah uncle?"
"Leng zai!! shuin lei mm kao lei zhong you gam ka ah?!" (Dude, I charge u RM5 u still wana discount ah?!)
Bopien lor, pay the fella 5 bucks and chao. As I walked past the guard house, I could see the guard staring at my feet (shorts) with the corner of my eye. lalala..
After some hoohaa on the phone wif siaw ching and qianz, I decided there's no point for me to go in like an alien oso (WHY DIN I WEAR JEANS!!) so Ya Lan, ching's good fren, gave me a ride to the monorail station. Kam sia!

Instinct told me to buy tix to Imbi and to go kai kai at bukit bintang. So i did. But din buy anything. Sis called me to urge me to settle my tix stuffs. So I bought a tix to sentral (thought the address was Bandar Utama, but under close inspection, it's actually Bangsar Utama) and boarded the wrong monorail, cos I thought i was on the right platform. bugger. So took the monorail back to titiwangsa, but I saw there's KJaya connecting line at Jalan Nenas/Dang Wangi. So got off from there, walked a distance and took the KJ line to Bangsar. Settled my flight tix, walked to bangsar village. When asked a security officer at Maybank for direction,
"Ooo, sini x ada shopping mall. u ambik lrt ke sentral, then blablabla"
I knew he was talking crap d. Dude, i just came from the lrt stesen lar. So when to ask a bata dude. "Oh it's just down the road." Lol..

Cut the long story short, I'm now back in my aunty's place after a looong day of walking and travelling. I like, cos no back pain. I think I noe why. I din use my bag pack this time! So, i shud get myself a sling bag... Happy Day~ travelled alot and learnt a lot. though din meet up wif qianz, but met ching for a short while. A bit lazy to travel now. So tml, sleepzzz..

Post -Academic-Semester-Services

...or it shall be known simply as P.A.S.S.®

Just a string of interesting events and requests that led up to this idea of setting up a business of helping out people, who have unfinished business in campus because they had to leave to go home.. aww.. kesian..

Well, fortunately for them, there's someone staying back in campus!!! *Inserts opening music *cheng cheng cheng cheng!! (oops, sorry cheng, borrow ur tagline)

so, What is it all about you ask?? Well it's all about finishing up the job for you when ur away!!
Examples of successfully carried out mission:

1. Dropping off keys to Residential College Office

2. Collecting certificates and sending forms

3. Search and retrieval of forgotten luggage

And recently approached for missions:
1. Making request for room mates.

2. Explaining to the Residential College Officer how one can atone himself cos he forgot to drop off the room key, so he won't get his ass busted when he comes back for the next sem.

3. Looking for RA assistants under CKK project.

Well, looking at the high rate of success of the missions being carried out, it's an auspicious start to this business, I'd say, and I have a good feeling about it. For any inquiries or request, please feel free to call the toll free number 1800-HELP-ME-PLS. All missions will be charged accordingly to its difficulty.

Disclaimer: This is a joke. (in an accent you all would be familiar with), oh and sorry, I don't do sweeping dead cats off one's front porch >.<

Closed eyes for 10 mins = missed shuttle bus by 5 minutes + fatigue + RM 10.40.

Little Wonders

This song has always been close to my heart.

Little Wonders - Rob Thomas

let it go,
let it roll right off your shoulder
don't you know
the hardest part is over
let it in,
let your clarity define you
in the end
we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

let it slide,
let your troubles fall behind you
let it shine
until you feel it all around you
and i don't mind
if it's me you need to turn to
we'll get by,
it's the heart that really matters in the end

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

all of my regret
will wash away some how
but i can not forget
the way i feel right now

in these small hours
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away but these small hours
these small hours, still remain,
still remain
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away
but these small hours
these little wonders still remain

Coin

I look at the coin on my palms,
I thought I have found myself a treasure;
At a moment of time,
It shines in all its mesmerising splendor.
And the other face,
Exhibits horrendous grudge and terror.
Are you that coin?
