Our weekend trip to the beach

jojo and ellie played in this tide pool for a long time until we realized there were mosquitoes all over the place.  that's when we left the bay and went to the ocean side of sandy hook beach

we were happy to find a tide pool on the ocean side as well.  the kids played here for hours. 
papa was a little disappointed that the water was too choppy for the fish to come close, but he had a good time anyway.

We have thing for going to the beach even when it's cold.  When papa was little his mom used to take them to the beach at the lake in their swimsuits with wool sweaters on top. I have no problem doing the same. Actually, this weekend was not that cold as long as the sun was up, but when the sun went down we shivered a bit.  It was worth it.  We had such a great time. We brought our best little friends along.

Back to School

Yay for me!  H is in third grade and Jojo is in Kindergarten.  Lilo would love to go with Jojo, but he will have to wait.  Jojo will be in third grade by the time Lilo is in Kindergarten. 

The First Day of School!!!

Out of focus, but you get the idea.  He is in the same classroom and has the same teacher as H had when she was in Kindergarten.  I tried to post a pic of the two of them in the same spot on H's first day of Kindergarten, but it didn't work.  Oh well.  

It is hard to believe that Jojo is in Kindergarten!  Yesterday was his first day and he had a nice time.  He is not the most verbal child, so I didn't get as much info from as I would have liked, but I guess if he is happ I am happy.
