It's true Love ~ when eternity doesn't seem long enough....

***more pics will be posted soon***
For Eternity...
What a beautiful day! We got to the temple early enough to casually enter, the ducklings were well fed ~ potty breaks taken, I didn't forget anyone's documents or clothes. Just calm and relaxing.
Fan-C & the Tank still fit into their original temple outfits and so they were excited to get to wear them. Fan-C's dress has the beaded lace from my wedding gown on it and the Tank's vest is made from a skirt panel of my gown. Then Tiny-T came in wearing her little dress (also made from another skirt panel) and she looked like a little fairy. So beautiful and with a HUGE smile. She was sealed to us and then all five of us stood and looked into the eternal mirrors to see our family go on for forever. My ducklings were all smiles and were not acting like terrors in public (a complete temple miracle). So all of us have been sealed to Lance in the same 'gown', in the same sealing room #14, and all three ducklings have been sealed by the same sealer. He came into get us and recognized Lance and I. At the end of everything he asked if he would see us next year... "Ya never know..."
My sister-in-law got really great pictures for us. Once I get the disk I will post them... I am just so grateful for our growing duck pond. I am eternally grateful and honored to be the mother of these beautiful children. They didn't come the conventional way, it took much longer and hurt (at times) way more than labor ~ so I hear. BUT, I wouldn't change anything and would go through it all again to have them swimming in our pond.

For Forever...

Tiny-T is being sealed to us tomorrow!
She will be an 'official' duckling in our pond for forever...
We are so excited. Her dress is made... our family is coming...
It is all coming together~
Yet, this week has been the HARDEST ROUGHEST WORST week in mommaduck's life. Health issues with my dad landing him in ICU, the Tank pushing himself in 'high gear' as a four year old, relationship issues with in-laws, my friends and family not able to come to this sealing. I got four calls yesterday letting me know that family and friends that had planned to come to the sealing will not be coming now. It really shouldn't matter... but it still bummed me out~ a LOT! As long as Lance, Tiny-T and I are there the show will still go on. But with all the 'stuff' happening in my family I was asking Lance if we shouldn't just cancel it for this weekend and reschedule for later on. He, of course, said NO!!!! I agree. It is just that something has to give and I was feeling like it is going to be my sanity that goes. I'm very much excited about having our little one sealed to us. I'm grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed us with incredible children. I know that eventually the Tank will become human again! This week should be peaceful, our home should feel like a haven, we should be contemplating this awesome event coming... it has been the polar opposite.
So for the two people that might read this blog... send up a little prayer for us... Thanks!

Signed, Sealed, Delivered... She's OURS!

DONE! Final: June 3, 2008!!!
Being sealed in the Portland Temple
June 21st...
Okay, so I haven't been very 'vocal' on our blog about ADOPTION and I wasn't sure if I wanted to be... but, we are fans of adoption and that is how we have gotten three of our four ducklings. We are open to adoption in the future as well. Just not the way we have done it so far. We were foster parents to our little ducklings and then they became adoptable and we petitioned for the honor to be their forever family. It has worked three times. BUT, we had two babies taken from our family over the years too. One was taken after a lengthy stay and after it was 'appearing' as if she were going to be ours for forever. She was our last baby that we excepted through the foster system. Now, our little family will be looking into adoption through other means.
To be blessed with these three little ducklings is beyond amazing. Fan-C thinks that going to the temple for sealings is a 'normal' family activity. We have started to be vocal to our children about adoption and where they have come from and how and when. They are still really young, but as they grow, we will give them more info.
Growing up I always wanted TEN kids (I was completely insane!) and I would get married and just start 'pumping' them out. Lance and I soon discovered that this just wasn't going to work out exactly as planned. Our sister-in-law gave us the idea of fostering through the state and then being available to adopt the children. We jumped right in and soon had our Tank. Four months later, Fan-C joined our pond. Then the Tank's bio-parents had another baby and we were approached to see if we would adopt her as well. So, now we have three children and in two weeks the last will finally be sealed to us.
So, for those who are considering adoption....
