Aunt Kari's visit

Aunt Kari came for a visit the week after Gma and Gpa were here.  When Gma and Gpa come, we ride the train.  When Aunt Kari is here, we go on adventures.

First we played at a fun park and fed the ducks there.

We took a walk on the path there and I gave everyone a tour of "Duck World."

Of course, Sydney had to point out things along the way too.  She's such a copycat.

We went on a hike--or two.  The first one was really hard for Sydney because it had lots of hills.  So we turned back early and found a different hike down the road that was way better.  Unfortunately, Syd was so tired from the first hike that we could only do a little bit of the second one.  Bummer, cuz there was a mostly dried up creek next to this one and it was totally flat.

Of course, I was a little tired at the end too....
We went on an adventure to Northwest Trek and saw some cool animals.

A real beaver!  You can't see in this picture, but he had orange teeth!
These racoons started out outside and then moved into their den.  Doesn't it look like they're kissing?
We took a tram ride around the park and saw lots of animals roaming free--like these rams that walked right past the tram and some huge buffalo!

We went blackberry picking and made some super yummy blackberry pancakes.

We also went to a splash park and played a lot in the backyard, but we didn't get pictures of those things.  I was so sad when Aunt Kari left, but I am so excited that we will be spending Thanksgiving at her house in Arizona!  I'll get to see Gma and Gpa again, Aunt Kari, Aunt Denise, and Uncle Mark who I haven't seen in almost three years!  And did you know my birthday is on Thanksgiving this year?!  It's going to be a great day!

Grandma and Grandpa from California

Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit from California.  We had so much fun while they were here.  They got to come see my during my swim lessons.  I am so good at swimming now--as long as I've got my goggles on.

I can jump off the side of the pool and swim back to the edge by myself.  (usually without a life jacket--we were doing water safety on this day.)
I love to swim under water and do it every chance I get.  I don't even mind getting my head wet anymore.
I also started learning how to dive into the water.  I'm bummed that swim lessons are over for the summer, but Mom says she's going to sign me up for more over the winter at an indoor pool  Yay!!!!

Gma and Gpa bought me a super cool Playdoh set.  It's a crane and you can make blocks for a wall, and cones, and paving stones, and tons of other stuff.

We rode the train into Seattle.  Sydney wasn't cooperating for a picture so I had to turn her head to face Mom.
I love this pic of my and Grandma on the train.
Sydney loved the train too.

And this is what she did when Mom said, "Say cheese!"

I love when Gma and Gpa come to visit.  It's always a bummer when they leave, but the very next week my Aunt Kari came to visit.

End of the Season

I finished up T-ball a couple of weeks ago.  I ended up liking it better than I thought I would.  But at the end of season party, when the coach gave me my certificate and asked if I'd be back next year, I told her no.  Here are some pics from the very last game.

Waiting my turn to bat:

Easily making it to third base:
 In ready position:

Going after the ball, getting to it first, and then throwing it to first.

Halfway through the season I realized that t-ball is a lot more fun when you pay attention to what is going on and try to go after the ball whenever it's hit.  So maybe I will play again next year now that I'm starting to figure it out.

King County Fair

I am waaaaay behind on the blog because of the fun things we've been doing this summer.  A couple of weeks ago we went to the King County Fair.  It was really hot and sunny, and it took a long time to get there, but it was totally fun.

Sydney and I couldn't wait to go.

I got to go on lots of fun rides.  Sydney was too small for most of them.

A roller coaster with Mom.  It was so fast and high!

This ride went really fast forward AND backward.

This slide was really high.  You slid down it on a blanket.  I went down all by myself--TWICE!

Dad is a crazy GO-KART driver.  But that's what made it fun!

Sydney was finally able to go on this ride.  We both really liked it and she didn't even get scared when we went way up high.

Of course, she did get scared during one part of our trip and that was when we went to see the animals.

Want to know what made her cover her ears, cry, and shake like crazy?

This guy right here:

The horse nayed really loud when we were looking at him and terrified Sydney.  She loves to look at animals, but if they are loud or come within a foot of her she freaks out.

And who could go to a fair without eating some fair food?  Me, that's who.  Hot dogs and funnel cake--yuck.  The lemonade was okay though.

And I got to take home this cool Spiderman hammer I won in a game.

 Talk about an awesome day!

Then to top it all off, we went swimming when we got home because it was so hot outside.

The water was freezing cold, but totally worth it to get cool.
Sydney had fun on the slide too--going down and up.
