Oh my, long time over due!! 8-10-09

Sorry, sorry! I guess being pregnant and chasing a 1 year old around, along with life in general has kept me super busy and I haven't updated this blog in way too long. So let's get going!

I am 2 weeks and 1 day away from my scheduled C-section date to bring Clayton Joe into the world! We are so excited and can hardly wait! It did take me a long while to get used to the idea of having another baby around so soon... and if I didn't say it in the previous post - this one was a COMPLETE surprise!! I go to the OB twice a week now for 2 sonos's and appt's, it's nice being able to "see" him twice a week on the sono screen. He is doing wonderful and always scores a perfect 8/8 on his sono's. He is however measuring HUGE at 8 lbs 10 oz and that was 2 weeks ago, the next time they will measure his size is on the 25th right before the C-section on Thursday the 27th of August. Clayton will share his birthday with two of his great-grandma's which we think is very special, and so do they! And my uterus didn't get the note that we have a scheduled C-section becuase I keep getting these painful contractions and they are NO FUN... I didn't know one could have contractions this strong for weeks before the baby comes... thanks to Nate coming a month early I never got this far along my 1st pregnancy... haha!
Clayton is very active and hardly ever sits still in my belly, he gets the hiccups ALL the time too. I guess part of it is he has plenty of amniotic fluid to play around in as opposed to big brother Nathan. Speaking of it has been so nice not being on bedrest and not having him a month early!! Haha!
Nathan is doing wonderful, he still keeps getting more wonderful everyday and just when I think there's no way I could love him more, I do! I just love my little man, he is such a sweetie and a ginormous blessing! He has been walking all over the place, he loves to eat, he cleans the house with a wet wipe, he places trash in the trash can, he cleans off the dogs nose with a wet wipe too, he says all sorts of things such as hi, bye-bye, thank you, momma, daddy, no no, night night, uh-oh and so on. I love that he tells me when he is sleepy, which is pretty much all the time, this boy sleeps the day away - literally, but he now says night-night and tells us when he is ready to nap or go down for the night. He has 16, yes 16 teeth, 4 on top in the front and 4 on the bottom in the front along with 4 molars on top and bottom... and they are HUGE!! He is doing wonderful with his sign language and sometimes he makes up his own signs but it is so neat to see him communicate that way before his verbal language skills are more advanced. He also loves waving hi and bye to random people - for example we'll be at a restaurant and a family will leave, the hostess will say bye to them and he'll wave to the family and say bye-bye. He will also wave hello to new people coming in the restaurant. He flirts big time with the waitresses and sometimes plays this pretend shyness where he turns the other way but will barely look back at whoever from the very corner of his eyes. He is silly and fun and amazing and we could NEVER imagine life with out him!

So, on to the photos of random stuff from the past few months where I have neglected to update... sorry!
Daddy painted Nate and Clatyon's bathroom to make it look new:

Daddy then painted and put together Clayton's nursery, it's still a work in progress so don't judge too harshly as there are still details to work out:

Here are some pics from Clayton's baby shower, in this one it's Great Paw-Paw holding Tatum and Great Grandma Smith with Nathan walking around the table- but Great Paw-Paw is my dad's dad and GGSmith is my mom's mom:

Amy, me (Clayton in the belly) and LaQuita:

The "Welcome Clayton" banner for the shower, thanks Aunt Minda!! It matches the nursery decor, and we are going to take it with us to the hospital to welcome our sweet new baby!

More from Clayton's shower:

Some of us sitting around at the shower, but the real reason for the pic is to show you how HUGE my baby bump is!! Clayton really is gonna be a big baby!

Daddy & Nate at the 4th of July in Arkansas, it was so WONDERFUL to get away for a mini vacation before brother comes!

Nate with Nonny at the lake shore, he wasn't too sure about the water at 1st... but he does love the water once he warms up to it... oh and he loves his sunglasses, he keeps them on the whole time!!

Daddy pulling Uncle Sam out on the tube in the lake:

Nate celebrating the 4th while waiting for the fireworks show:

Nate hanging out at the reunion for the 4th of July:

Nate eating yellow watermelon, this boy LOVES watermelon, he would rest his whole face on the slice while just moving his mouth to slurp up the watermelon:

Now we are at the Parmley reunion and Nate is hanging out on the porch:

Daddy & Nate at the P reunion going out to the boat, as you can see daddy's already been out and was wet (sorry about the camera strap blowing into the pic):

Nathan walking around the house in daddy's socks... they look like leggings on him... haha:

Nathan loves his Cheetos Puffs (he gets this from his momma - there is probably a photo of me at the same age doing the same thing!):

Nate being silly at the dinner table:
This was a few weeks ago of me holding Nathan and Clayton... just Clayton is still inside the baby bump:

We found out this week that Nathan will not only be a big brother but he will have a little brother! We are so excited to learn that we will have another little fellow around here! Don't get me wrong I still have "whoa what am I going to do in a house full of boys!!" moments, but we are blessed with another boy! Now the hard part, we have to figure out the perfect name. It came so easy when we named Nathan but for some reason we are having a hard time figuring out just what this baby will be named.

Be sure to check out the video's at the end, Nate has been saying, "I do it" for a month now and it's so cute... I don't think he knows what he is saying he just says it. He also says, "uh oh", "mama", "dada", "baba", and "ayyaaaadaaayaaahhda" that's gibberish which he does really well! Also, the other video at the end is of Nate laughing super hard one day in the tub, he got his giggle box turned upside down and laughed for a good 30 mins, the video's less than a minute though so no worries. Sorry about the quality though, both video's are from my cell phone, not as good as the camcorder!

Baby boy #2 is doing just great, he's 12 ounces and 8.9 inches long. Just for comparison, Nate was 11 ounces and 8.5 inches long when we found out he was a boy, but that was also at 19 weeks along instead of 20 weeks along... so they are really close in size at the same age. Baby boy #2's heart rate at the appointment was 170 bpm and he was moving all over the sonogram screen. I really have been feeling this little one move more than Nathan did at this point... I wonder what that foretells??? Oh no!

Showing his face some more:

Nate's 1st Easter!!! He is RISEN!! Yea!!:

Happy boy on Easter:

Nate's 1st swimming pool, he's playing with daddy:

More playing in his 1st swimming pool:

Eating my toys and enjoying the shade:

Nathan's 1st haircut!! We went to go visit John the Barber, he has cut Nate's great Paw-Paw's hair for over 45 years, cut Nate's grandpa; Poppy's hair since he was 6 years old, and cut Nate's Uncle Sam's hair since he was a baby... so it just made sense to have him cut Nate's 1st haircut!! John the Barber is now out of his garage since he's retired, but he still cuts a few haircuts here and there!

Nate crying during his first haircut:

Great Paw-Paw trying to offer some calming words during Nate's crying:

Nate after his haircut... sorry I almost missed all of his hair in this pic... but he moves around so much it's hard to get a shot the way you want it... haha!

Nate LOVES to take a bath, here he is looking at me like, "mom, leave me alone so I can seriously play, you keep calling my name, just for a photo!!"

Playing some more in my fun bath time:

Just a pic of Nate all messy after eating:
Nate playing with everything he's NOT supposed to:
Standing up, I do this all the time after I crawl everywhere!
Nate crawling everywhere...
Video of Nate Laughing in bath tub, I told you he LOVED bath time!! Sorry again about the quality, it is just a cell phone video!

That's right, we are expecting baby #2!! It was a complete shock to Chad and I, but we have let it sink in, and of course we are so excited to have another miracle! We truly have been blessed so much with the sweetest, most precious baby, so we can't wait to see baby #2!

I am due in September, so I am a little over 13 weeks pregnant now. We will find out in mid April if it's a boy or girl. My best friend, Heather is also pregnant and our due dates are 1 day away from each other, we are so meant to be best friends!! It has been really fun going through all the same things at the same time with her during our pregnancies!

So, Nate will be about 16 months old when the new baby arrives... WOW! I still can't believe Nate will be a year old in 3 months!! My sweet baby is growing up so quick! He is crawling all over the place and is in to everything, he doesn't sit still at all anymore! He stands up and takes steps when assisted, so he'll be walking in no time! He has been mischievous with me lately, and laughs out loud at himself when he does this. For example, he was on our bed and I asked him to come to me (which he always does when I hold my hands out for him and say “come here”) so in stead he turns the other way and looks over his shoulder at me to see if I am looking and when our eyes meet he laughs out loud at himself. I couldn't help but to laugh too! I grab on to his legs since he wiggled onto his back and pull him to me and the closer I get him to me the harder and louder he laughs out loud... what a silly boy!!!

He has his sweetie pie moments too! We snuggle up real good when he gets his bottle and he just snuggles right in and loves every moment of his bottle, he will hum and say, "mmmmmm" the whole time he eats his bottle. We also cuddle up and take naps together. I have been so sleepy lately during my first trimester! I get home from work and all I can do is take care of Nate and I am exhausted! Routinely he takes a nap after I get home from work - so we have been taking that nap together all snuggled up, and he is just the best little snuggler!! I just love it!!!

So, on to a few pictures!!

Baby # 2 - at 7wks & 5 days, heartrate was 154 bpm!!

I was in such a shock when I found out, and Chad was too, that he made me take a 2nd and even a third pregnancy test... hahaha! Yep, it's a positive!

Nate is so sleepy in this pic, but he's so cute!

Playing on his new toy, thanks Noni!

Crawling to mom.

Nate playing with friends... this night was the first time I ever saw my innocent little baby not act so sweet and innocent! As you see precious Tatum was sitting next to him, well, he would grab her arm and steal whatever toy she had in her hands for himself.... WHAT A STINKER!!

Nate sporting spiked hair!!

A perfect example of Nate not sitting still when momma wanted him to so she could get a cute pic!

I'm not going to have any good pic's anymore, as my subject can't keep still!!!
