CIMB Malaysian Open 2007

Guess what?!! I saw Nicol David and Azlan Iskandar played in the CIMB Malaysian Open's Finals at the Curve. I got a few pics to share :


This is the small court that the organizers had set up for the quarter finals last week. Some players were practicing before their matches.

The FINALS !!! Look at the crowd in the background...some 500 spectators filled up the whole 4 floors in the Curve. The tickets were rather pricey, RM 30 for the premier sits behind the VIP's, which includes Datuk Nazir Razak, Datuk Effendi Nawawi and Datin Tiara Jacquelina.

Part 8 - Tales of 2 faces CodeKRB02PM290707

Settings :

Location : A converted guestroom in the Function-Y’s participants’ apartments.

Time : pm

Case : A group of facilitators and ‘officers’ having a post-mortem of the first day of Y-Function.

Present were the head facilitator, un known, and all facilitators who were exhausted and frustrated after a whole day ‘running’ around with ‘kids’.

We were first first treated with light exercises supposedly for ‘menumpukan perhatian dan tidak kelihatan letih’ in Pn. B’s words.

Now came the post-mortem session :

En. A : Ada siapa-siapa yang ada soalan ?

Un Known, as a true leader, bravely raised his hand and came up with a few problems that were due to poor coordination by the administrators. Some of them includes :

How the participants could be grouped in order to go for their prayers

1. What is the best solution for the participants to have their meals as there were simply too many students there in the program

However, after a few flaws which were raised by Un Known, En. A and Pn. B failed to provide a single satisfactory solution to any of the problems. Instead, the facilitators were treated to a battle cry and a ‘double-yes’! @#$%^&*

Those who were still alert were just left dumbfounded.

Later, that night, lXl was on night watch together with the other 2 Mat Skodengs while Un Known had another post-mortem session with xxx officers and the GI joe’s officers, who were having a ‘watching-brief’ over the function. Slightly past midnight, un known came to meet us at the compound facing the boy’s apartment.

Un Known : yada yada…. Tadi En. A dengan Abang Z pandai main kata…… yada..yada… Dia orang tanya : Apa hal nak letak semua pelajar UPSR, PMR dan SPM dalam satu program ? Abang Z cakap, ini idea ‘Out of the Box !” Kepala otak dia la….mana ada ‘out of the box !’..ini pemikiran tak waras la ! GI- Joe officers pula tanya kat I sama ada program ini berjaya ke tak. I terang-terang cakap ‘tak’. Lepas itu, En. A cakap, tak boleh cakap macam itu sebab lebih kurang 2 minggu dari sekarang, dia orang akan buat post mortem lagi dengan xxx dan mereka akan memburuk-burukkan nama xxx ! yada yada yada………

lXl has found out that he will be flying on the 26th of August at 1515 hours aboard the MAS Boeing 747 Flight. He will reach Los Angeles approximately 1925 hours and will leave for Philadelphia at 1925 hours. lXl will reach Philadelphia International Airport at 0700 hours on 27th August (Phili's time), Anybody care to pick me up from phili ? lol

Place : Around xxx corporation’s vast compound

It was indeed a frustrating and tiresome day coupled with MAJOR glitches on the first day of the Y-Function. The few FLAWS includes :

1. Non-beneficial activities - What are the students expected to learn by grouping themselves according to their birthdates, place of births etc ?……

2. How can the synced activities tailored for all students preparing for all 3 UPSR, PMR and SPM…oh puhlezze…it doesn’t need a rocket scientist to figure out that all these 3 groups of students have different level of intellectual capacity and abilities….

3. Poor facilitators coordination - I cannot understand why everything has to be last-minute. Unsurprisingly, the facilitators were left in the dark most of the time (if not all) of what was actually happening…

4. Many more which I’m too tired right now to list them all……..

On the morning, lXl was helping the participants to check-in to their rooms together with fntgr and a few others in the morning when he noticed an officer (I’m not sure whether he’s a father of one of the participants) dressed smartly, flirting ‘physically’ with one of the cleaners who were cleaning the apartments in the boys block. lXl just walked by without much thoughts….

Anyway lXl decided to head towards the opening ceremony which was held in a mini stadium. There he sat beside En. B, which he did not realized at first until…...

En. B : yada yada yada…….I sepatutnya ajar golf kepada pelajar-pelajar dekat xxx…tapi batch tahun ini tak ada…tak taular pihak admin tak bagi you orang.main golf. Saya, seorang, yang jaga padang golf, driving range, semua …*chuckles*

lXl ; oh macam itu….sekarang encik buat apa dekat padang golf sana ?

En. B : Itular i cakap, saya sekarang tak ada kerja nak buat…kadang kala..ada seorang dua yang datang nak belajar golf…tapi most of the time, I jaga rumput saja la…*chuckles*

The function went on with much frustration among the facilitators (lXl included). The organizers (xxx corporation) did not seem to have a mechanism to allow a free-flowing system within the facilitators to ensure smooth transition between activities. Strangely, the head of the xxx, Pn. A, for once showed her face for the opening ceremony after making some disappearing acts prior to the event.

Columbia........they did not give me a reason why they rejected me..........


PRINCETON !!....their booth was located directly opposite UPenn's....seee the cute tiger above....we actually stole its tail (they had a tiger's tail hanging in their booth) and hung it on top of Upenn's (sadly...it was just for 10 minutes before they realised its 'dissapearance')

A Tribute for the GI Joe's

Ero_ezi and the rest of the GI Joe’s have resumed their duties in Australia/New Zealand last Thursday (that’s the second batch. Some have flew in their Hornets and Raptors last Saturday). lXl would like to use this opportunity to wish all of them All The Best , Good Luck and don’t forget to enjoy yourself there in your pursuit for your personal, community and nation’s glory !!

lXl- of Paradoxes and Equations has been inundated with question from curious visitors asking why lXl is bashing xxx through this blog portal. Well, lXl needs (desperately) an avenue for himself to jot down whatever bits and pieces of his jumbled memory if the need arises for lXl to testify in any court cases. This is EXTREMELY important due to his short-term memory and more so if a court case is pursued against xxx in the future (you’ll never know). Anyway, less words, more action, here’s part 6.……

lXl : tak ada la….dia orang exempted…..tak tau kenapa…

Officer 1 : Oh..macam itu….I sebenarnya nak jumpa mereka….tak apa….macam mana you boleh terlibat dengan Function Y ini ?

lXl : Paksa Rela

Officer 1 : haha…Pn. A yang suruh, ya ?

lXl : yup …

Later, lXl listen to some !#$%^, which he couldn’t remember due to extreme fatigue. After the ‘talk’, lXl noticed that Student K came and was talking to En. A :

Student K : Sorry la tadi En. A. I memang dah ada history dengan Pn. A ini…Dulu pun macam itu…Yang dulu punya, .Pn. A memang dah janji nak bayar tapi siapa yang dapat nama ? …..

It seems Student K’s name wasn’t written in the program book for Function Y and he did not receive his name tag. That was the reason (i think) why he walked out of the building as described earlier in the series…..

En. A : tak, apa. I faham…Pn. A memang macam itu…list nama facilitators pun minggu lepas baru I dapat… Itu pun tukar banyak kali…..dia macam tak boleh buat keputusan….aih..tak apa..tak apa..I faham…..

Mat Skodeng 1 : XXX memang macam itu…..Pn. A tak ajar dalam kelas pun…..bila tiba exam saje, dia bagi nota.. Suruh kita orang hafal…….setiap sem pun macam itu……

En. John Doe : Oh…Pn. A is very sly. You know what, when I first came to xxx, she gave me part of her class for me to teach. It was a grammar class for the xxx students. When I went to see En. X about it, he said its best for me to ‘familiarize’ with the surroundings first. I thought it was okay for awhile but guess what?…after ----months, I’m still ‘familiarizing’ with the surroundings !!! Pn. A conveniently ‘lepas tangan’ her classes on my hands…….. Aihhhh……

lXl : aha…nothing surprising la…

En. John Doe : ah..one more thing, xxx does not have a fixed syllabus. Whatever course guidelines they gave out earlier in the semester does not constitute to anything. You know, its like after learning on constructing short sentences, it should be constructing short paragraphs.. But in xxx, its not that way…they just kelentong….and the books, its up to the lecturers to decide. For Pn. A’s class which I taught, all the students were forced to buy some constructing sentences book. That one standard One kids also can do laa….

With a jest, En. John Doe ++======== a car==========Pn. A======== censored (sorry guys !! )

lXl noticed that the caterers were listening to our conversation ……but we shall not venture that far into what happened between them After some cooling down,

En. John Doe : yada yada yada…..I know that these lecturers in xxx say yada yada yada……… but they do not do whatever they’ve preach !!! I can assure you that …. Xxx was actually under pressure by their bosses as they were not contributing anything to them. that’s why they need to get the tender for Funtion Y. I don’t think there was any tender at all. Anyway, their leadership in xxx is ‘lembik’ and it seems Pn. A is the de facto leader in xxx and not En. X. Ya, En. X told me before that he is bringing in people like me to counter Pn. A’s decision to bring in more lady lecturers into xxx….like Cik Q etc yada yada yada …..

lXl : what about function Y’s budget? En. A told me last week that RM 60k will be use in this week.

En John Doe : aha…its not possible…60k is too little….its around 100 - 150 k for this function. Look, like I said earlier, xxx does not do what they preached. It all looks good on paper only. But behind the scenes, ah anything can happen. For Function Y, the bosses have given the allocation. Its up to xxx to use that money yada yada yada…….

Mat Skodeng 2 : biasalar…..Pn. A itu dah kaya….

En. John Doe : ah…about money…even En. B who suppose to teach Golf for xxx is earning 11k a month. He drives a Volvo…imagine that………………………………......

Location : various places around the accommodation apartment

Time : late afternoon and evening

After lunch on the last day of TOT, lXl somehow found himself in a room to do some touching up on the 'scoreboard' with rulb, Ideal and a few other students. After the task was done, the group went back to clean themselves up and nap to recharge their 'batteries'. However, this was not to be for lXl. On his way back, lXl noticed 2 Mat Skodengs in the temporary HQ. lXl made his way back to his apartment to bathe and later made his way down to help those 2 Skodengs as he promised earlier to be part of the 'security team'.
In the HQ :

Pn. C : Hey, siapa nama ini....... ah...datang ambil baju KRB......

lXl : Huh ? ah o..kay.......

Pn. C : Semua laki-laki dapat baju L.

lXl : Ah ? Minggu lepas, i dah bagi saiz I dekat Pn. A ? Baju L sangat besar la...

Pn. C : Tak tahu lar Pn. A. Dia tak bagi tau i pun. Minggu lepas bila I tanya, Pn A kata you orang tak bagi tau kita orang.Dia kata bagi semua laki saiz "L" dan semua perempuan "M".

En. B : Ahla, sama saja L dengan M. Pakai besar sikit, masa depan pun boleh guna.....tak ketat sangat.....

lXl was just too tired to argue at that point. He took the shirt and sign quickly. Then, making his way towards the Mat Skodengs, lXl notice the presence of another lecturer, En. John Doe.

Mat Skodeng 1 : Oooii...apasal lewat sangat...ahahahaha (he was busy pasting the freshly painted signs on a wood plank)

lXl : malas lar.....ahaha....

Mat Skodeng 2 : ahaha...lXl ini tipu la........mana yang lain ?

lXl : ahaha...dia orang dah tidur la........

En. John Doe : Right, now we have 1 extra person to 'dera'...ahahaha (while printing some directions for the signbaords)

After lXl, Mat Skodengs and En. John Doe prepared the boards for directions, they made their way to 'skodeng' the area where Funtion Y were to be held. While putting up the boards, they met 3 GI Joe's officers, looking stern and very unfriendly.

Officer 1 : Tempat ini kena letak tape macam itu (pointing the the tape lXl was holding). Parents semua tak dibenarkan masuk di sini.

En John Doe : Ok boss, semua beres. Kereta semua masuk dari sana..yada yada yada...... (while he explained how the cars will be guided through to the registration counter)......

Officer 2 : Tadi I nampak signboard kat depan sana yang you orang buat letak pukul xxxx untuk ambil para peserta Funtion Y. Tapi, kita punya jadual letak pukul XXXX.Macam mana ini ?

En. John Doe : Kita dapat arahan daripada xxx untuk letak macam itu.....En. X atau Pn. A dah buat semua itineary untuk Function -Y....kita ikut saja......

At this time, the tension was heating up.....
Officer 1 : Mana Pn. A? Tak nampak batang hidung pun.

En. John Doe : Tak tahu lar....i pun tak jumpa.... tapi kalau nak ubah apa-apa, runding dulu dengan xxx...kita ikut arahan saja...Budak I pun tak banyak..3 orang saja...itu pun i pinjam satu dari riadah....dia orang dah kerja dengan I penat-penat dah........

Officer 1 : Okay...nanti kami beritahu xxx...

As the officers went out of sight....

En. John Doe : !@#$%%^^, just because they are officers, they think they can boss me around... I've been around since morning, to do this....not like they did anything around here.

lXl : aih...what to do...its always like that.......

While they did the finishing touches, lXl noticed that the 'old' signs were replaced with new ones..

lXl : eh, apasal nak koyak ini ?

Mat Skodeng 2 : ahla.....semalam En X kata tak cantik...GI Joe's officers complain.tak ada warna....thats why lar kita buat warna-warni sekarang.....(while pointing to the signboards which were pasted on green, pink etc colors)

En. John Doe : itu pun guna duit I nak beli semua kertas, tape etc.........

lXl : oh..........

After finishing putting up the signs which was around late evening,

En. John Doe : Alrite..done..thanks for everything.....just go up and bathe and wait for me down here. I'll fetch all of you to xxx building for dinner........

14 More Days !!

Setting :

Location :
Hall in an advance technology building (outside of xxx corporation)

Time :
2nd and 3rd day of TOT (in the morning till lunch)

Case :
The facilitators a.k.a. forced laborers were seated in their places singing some songs (which i could not remember)

In came the official photographer (i hope she is....)

Pn. C : Eh, kenapa you dengan lXl tak nampak gembira saja ??? (while asking Student E who happen to sit next to lXl)

Student E : shrugs...tak ada apa-apa......

Pn. C : Ini kan KRB. kan.....kita patut macam.... YAY KRB!!!!!. tak ada semangat ke ?

Student E just smiled.

lXl was damn piss at that atime.....(suka hati I lar kalau i nak gembira ke tak)..........grrr.....lXl gave her a stare. Pn. C got the message(i think) and went on with her photography work.

Ah, lXl sat behind student D and couldn't help noticing his change in attitude when he got the function-Y program book. Student D was joyous earlier and was even spotted singing his heart out with LoneRanger during the session.

After some time, Student D just walked off from the hall.......
lXl was earlier pitted in front of two Mat Skodengs (i shall explain this in the next series), who also vanished during the session..........hmmm.....its strange but true...

The session ended with lunch...

Now, lunch is a very blessed meal which lXl found most intriguing.....

At the lunch table on the previous day, came En. X, who happened to be at the 3-day TOT session during the meals session only, another strange scenario.

En X : so you orang dah dapat tempat kat universiti.................. yada yada.....nanti I boleh visit you all kat the States lar...kan ???

Student F : ah, boleh visit lXl kat Penn.....

En X : Tak naklah....Penn busuk.....

lXl : (dang....WTF, xxx lagi busuk).....oh well...

On the last lunch for TOT, lXl sat together with a bunch of guys who were more comfortable of being dogs than humans themselves.

Doggy 1 : Eh, dengar-dengar Pn. A nak beli kereta Brabus

lXl was stumped....

Doggy 2 : Ahla...apa nak surprise-surprise sangat ? Pn.A itu memang kaya......

lXl : Macam mana you orang tau tentang ini ?

Doggy 3 : ah, biasalar...doggy 1 itu student kesayangan Pn. A. takkanlar tak tau, hari-hari pun jumpa..........
Doggy 1 chuckled

lXl : oh....

LoneRAnger : aiyo...not like you don't know. Pn A got a tuition centre and has a company to organize camps... like those human particles in the other Gas Class, they went to help her in the first semester.....nothing new lar.......

Doggy 1 : itular lXl, jadi lecturer boleh jadi kaya cepat...ahhahahaha

R. Buckminster Fuller once said, “Great nations are simply the operating fronts of behind-the-scenes, vastly ambitious individuals who had become so effectively powerful because of their ability to remain invisible while operating behind the national scenery”. ah…heck with that…….

Similar to the previous post, another avid reader of the blog, codenamed ero_ezi has came forward to bring some news to lXl's attention. As a start, Ero_ezi is a leftist, very similar to LoneRanger although they do not come under the jurisdiction of the same “scholar program”. An ‘outcast’ member of the GI Joe’s, ero_ezi has always been kept in the dark of the going-on’s of the group.

Ero_ezi with his shining armor. He is bound to resume duty in Australia on the 12th of July, a date that has been delayed from its original plan of the 7th of July.








Anyway, ero_ezi came out with his guts to clarify on the meeting that the GI-Joe’s had with Pn. A as published in the previous post. The MEETING the GI Joe’s had was very clear cut and brief. Pn. A did not give whatsoever explanation and many of the GI Joe’s were surprised by the decision made by the xxx corporation. Rumors have made it rounds but until today, lXl do not have any knowledge on what transpired xxx corporation to come to that decision. Ero_ezi and one of his buddy were left in a daze. Not even the GI Joe’s knew about it….I guess…it’s a mystery to be solved for another day…….

Like i've said, I do not give a damn. I can assure you that whatever posts i published earlier are for entertainment purposes and personal use ONLY. Yes, you could probably label me as an evil !@#$%%^^^&*, but like the saying goes, 'see no evil', 'speak no evil' and 'hear no evil'. Notice that there's no 'write no evil' or 'publish no evil'. A few days after that particular meeting, both the gas-filled classes were called up for a meeting with Pn. A, Pn. B and En. A. (please do take note that Pn. A and En. A do not have any whatsoever kind of relationship, at least without the knowledge of the author)

Setting :

Location :
A lighted Multimedia room on an undisclosed level in the xxx corporation building.

Time :
Not deemed important enough to be recalled.

Case :
All scholars seated in their respective places in the room, waiting anxiously for the arrival of En. A, Pn. B or Pn. A

En. A entered.


En. A : Hi semua, saya En. A dan akan menjadi Ketua ----------- untuk Function Y.
Students : Waaa…tepuk…tepukk


And out of the blue, he asked :


En A : Ke mana anda semua nak pergi ini ? US, Aus, NZ, UK ?


Of course, we answered promptly and since the US bound scholars, namely the PL scholars, are the only students in class at that time who got their university placements, they had no choice but to raise their hands and introduce themselves. What I didn’t realize was where the conversation was heading to.


En. A : blablablabla………..ah…I dengar ada dalam kalangan anda semua yang tidak berpuas hati untuk function y ini. Ada siapa-siapa yang tidak berpuas hati ?


Silence …

(Damn it. He just did an identification check. Somebody had told him that the PL scholars were not happy with the Function.Y )


En. A : ah okay…I rasa semua betel-betel berpuas hati, gembira…yada…yada…yada


Ah somewhere in between this, all the GI-Joe’s were called up to meet Pn, X outside the multimedia room. It seems that they had some meeting and somehow all of them has been excused from the Function Y, which of course raised much fury and dissatisfaction among the PLs. To soothe matters, Pn. A interrupted


Pn. A : OK students. En. X has decided to release the GI-Joe’s for reasons only he knows. He did not say anything and I hope that this will not bring any dissatisfaction among the rest of you.


The PLs who were sitting behind were infuriated. Rage of fires were seen exchanging between their glares.


As everyone settled down, Pn. B took the floor and asked the students to perform a cheer for the group. And so happened, the majority of the PLs who were in one clump, led by Student B, came out with a tepuk-tepuk MENYAMPAH.
