Janie's been having on again/off again GI issues since February.
She started seeing a pediatric GI specialist in May and has had every non-invasive test in the book, including a barium swallow which showed that she does have irritation/inflammation in the upper GI tract - no clue what's causing it.
She's been on Omeprazole 40mg for 4 months which has helped, but symptoms are resurfacing and new ones are showing up. I'm scheduling an endoscopy for tomorrow afternoon.
She'll be put under for the procedure, very routine, should only take 15 mins, but still... I hate this. The girl deals with enough.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

They celebrated with a round of go-karts and dinner at Outback.
She is over-the-moon excited.

Busy day, but I had a nap.
Let's see... the day's first activity was at 4:30am when I woke to Janie's CGM buzzing at me, she was 295. I corrected her through her pump and rolled over to go back to sleep when I heard O.C. meowing from outside. Went downstairs to let her in, she was MEOWINGLY hungry (cat people know what I mean), so I gave her some wet kitty food and headed back upstairs.
7:30am woke up, Janie was 140
8:00am still in bed, Janie was 159
8:15am fell back to sleep
9:00am got up, Janie was 180 (need to tweak basal), breakfast for the kids, cleaned up, got kids ready for a bday party, wrapped gift, parents stopped by...
11:00am left for party w/ the kids
3:30pm returned from party (had an awesome time, hbd Connor!)
NAP
5:30pm Janie and Mark got ready to play golf, Jacob and I got ready to go to the mall with Nanny (my mom)
6:30pm leave for mall, got Blackie restitched at Build-a-Bear, ate at Rubio's, stopped by Old Navy ($8 hoodies!), Croc kiosk (Jibbitz), and Disney Store
9:30 home
Ready for bed am I.

This is what...
... this blog is supposed to be for. For me to look back and say, "What went on on June 5th/6th/7th in 2010?"
"Jacob was sick, wasn't he?"
Yep, he was/is. Friday night, well, technically Saturday morning, he woke up at 2:00a and proceeded to throw up four times over the next two hours. After waking at 9:00a he felt much better for most of the day, then started running a low grade fever. Then the rash came. G-r-e-a-t. Then the fever got higher, about 101. We didn't go to the Rapids game with Mark and Janie. Saturday night, while watching Ice Age, the rash became itchy... he had very red and itchy feet.
Sunday morning he felt much better. Fever came and went during the day, never too high. Sunday afternoon it was back up at 101.3 (these are external temps). Gave him Tylenol, it kicked in and he felt much better, temp came down. He went to bed without much fanfare... teeth brushed, jammies on, water fixed, inhaler inhaled, etc. I went in to check him at 12:50a (I was up because Janie's CGM is throwing ??? at me and I was trying to get the thing to behave... another story) and he was burning up. External temp was 102.3, so actual temp was closer to 103.3. I've always heard 104 was time to start worrying... some Googling confirmed and I threw myself into full getting ready to worry mode.
The boy is now on the couch watching Little Bear with a damp cloth on his forehead, a sippy full of ice water and 2 tsp of Tylenol hopefully doing it's job. I will check him again... well, right now. I was giving the Tylenol 45 minutes to kick in and it's been 45 minutes on the button.
Wow, that stuff really works... 100.1 at the beep. He looks much better. Ate most of a nice, cold apple sauce and even smiled at Cat jumping out of a log.
He wants more apple sauce.

I want to go...
... to iPhone Land. But, I am in r451c Land right now. It's not a very happy place (especially since I was just in Blackjack Land). But it is a place. I'm glad I have a place, really, I am. I just want to be somewhere else. Problem is, it's pretty expensive to get to iPhone Land. Well, it's not that it's expensive to GET there, it's that it's expensive to BE there.
So, here I sit, in r451c Land... dreaming about iPhone Land. I hear it's pretty there.

Jordan, Pasta Fresca & Costco
Mark has today off, we started the day off getting ready for teacher conferences; Mrs. R (Jacob) at 10:40, Mrs. A (Janie) at 11:00. They are both doing well and love school. Their teachers are really great, it's nice to have a bit of time to sit and chat more leisurely about how the kids are doing.
After conferences Jacob and Mark went home by way of Anthony's for a couple of slices. Janie and I stayed at school to work the book fair for a couple of hours. The older kids are encouraged to run the registers and Janie loved doing it.
While we were at school Jacob's friend Jordan came over to the house. Janie and I got home and Mark headed out to have some things done to the van. Jordan and Jacob went the preschool together and have always been really good friends, was great having her over for a while. Her mom and I are good friends, also, so it was good to see Laryssa for a bit.
After Laryssa left with Jordan (and Brandon), Jacob, Janie and I went to Wally World. Had to get Pasta Fresca makins' - I found a copy cat recipe for Noodles and Co.'s Pasta Fresca. It's pretty good and everyone likes it. I love making it.
While getting things ready to cook I saw something on the counter I never thought I'd see... a COSTCO card! Pam, did you hear (read)!? A COSTCO card. We still want to meet for pizza every now and then, but I can pay for my own things!! I am so excited, I can't wait to get MY card... Mark got his today.
Now it's time for kitchen cleaning, laundry, shower for the girl and BED!
