What???? A new post!

Hello all! I know, I know...it's been MONTHS since I've last posted but I have an excuse. Um, ok maybe I don't but I'm back and although I can't make any promises, I'll do my best to update again soon.
Mike got dressed to go out and shovel during the blizzard and Aiden was NOT happy that he didn't take him along so he dressed himself and stood at the door grunting until I gave in!

Aiden got his first snow suit so he could "play" in the snow...he LOVED every minute of it!

After a long day playing in the snow...It still doesn't get old...!

So sorry...

The Elite Eleven!

Maggie, Calvin, Kathryn (I think), Paul, Daniel,
McKenna, Anna, Hope, Andrew, Aiden, Calvin

There is NO WAY it has been 3 months since I last updated this thing...ok, so I guess it has been but WHERE did those 3 months go???? So much has happend since February when I last updated that I'll just give a quick summary and then on to some pictures.
Enjoy and again sorry for such a delay!

Poppy's birthday party tuckered out the
Phillie's fan!

* Aiden is rolling all over the place and sitting on his own (he does still have a bit of a "round butt" so he does fall over when he's not concentrating!)
* Aiden is now holding his own bottle and drinking out of a sippy cup!
* No teeth yet but it has to be any day b/c EVERYTHING he can grab goes in his mouth and he is drooling like crazy
* We had a great time at the Becklet's 1st Birthday party in March!!
* Aiden had a fun 1st Easter with Aiden and a wild time at Hope's Birthday party and at Poppy's Birthday dinner celebration!
* We had a great time at Andrew 1st Communion party/Birthday party for Andrew and Calvin
* Mike is now playing on a softball team AND a flag football team (so much for "free family time" on the weekends!)
* We had a wonderful time with Mike's Aunt Dee last weekend...it was great to see her and we had a ton of fun hanging out with Bonnie, Chris and Megan too!
* I am super excited to celebrate my FIRST Mother's Day this weekend!

He was booking his ticket to the Eagles season opener!

Super Cool Hope and Super Serious Calvin!

Andrew loves hot wings...just like his Aunt Mary!

Cutest little Easter Bunny Ever!

Happy 1st Birthday Becklets!

our first cold...yuck.

No, that is not puke...it's bananas

That's right...Aiden had his first cold last week. All I can say is those colds are no fun and I believe they are worse on the parents than the baby! We really can't complain b/c he didn't cry a lot or keep us up ALL night he just wanted to be held and was not his happy self all day. He did get up throughout the night which is unusual for him but wasn't too bad b/c he would fall right back to sleep after a quick bottle and a little TLC.
Even with a cold, Aiden has advanced to a walker!! He loves it although he doesn't really "walk" in it b/c he's not really sure what to do but he does like to sit in it, talk to and play with Elmo and Cookie Monster! He loves to sit in it while I am cooking, cleaning, dancing or whatever in the kitchen and while Mike and I are at the table, too cute!

this is his usual demeanor, happy and smiley :)

imagine that, his fingers are in his mouth!

Aiden had his 4 month check up last week and the doctor's first words were, "wow you have a big boy on your hands". Not sure if he meant big height or big weight but either way, Aiden is a big boy! He is 17 pounds and nearly 27 inches long (he didn't want to cooperate and straighten his legs while the nurse was measuring him)! He got 3 more shots which he did not like but we managed to get through it.
We've had a busy few weeks...lots of family time now that Aiden is getting bigger and more interactive. He's grabby at just about anything and he's putting EVERYTHING he can grab in his mouth! The doctor told us that babies can get their first tooth anywhere from four months to a year...he seems to believe we're well on our way! Mike and I have started back to the gym! We have a nice routine down and it's working out very nicely...I go by myself some nights while Mike stays home with Aiden and Mike goes by himself and I stay home the other nights. On Saturday mornings we go together and Grandma watches Aiden for us! Hopefully we'll have beach ready bodies before we head to Sea Isle in July!

Mike's birthday was on the 6th and we had our first party since Aiden has been born. Our friends tell us that we have fun parties so I thought it would be fun to celebrate his birthday since we didn't do anything last year due to being pregnant. We had about 15 friends over and we had a great time! Mike's brother Chris was able to come after work and he always brings a good time! I will say that we are clearly not as young as we once were and not drinking for 9+ months really decreases your tolerance!
Two quick things we've done since the last post...
* took Aiden to his first Auto and Boat Show at the Farmshow in Harrisburg (he slept most of the time so he didn't get to see all the lavishly expensive cars)
* took Aiden to his first indoor semi-pro football game (the Harrisburg Stampede) not a fun trip for mommy b/c daddy was there working with Dan and it was a loooong walk from the car to the door w/ a 17 pound squirmy baby wrapped in a blanket with a winter coat on a chilly night but it was still a good time with our friends Kris and baby Dylan.

someone has learned the art of "raspberries"

"now which one of these makes this thing move?"

"u talkin to me?"

At the car show, that's me in some $50,000 silver car, I know Mike will be so mad that I have no idea what kind of car it is but if it was a pair of shoes or a purse I would know exaclty what kind it was...(just ignore the man with Steelers jacket, it was Super Bowl Sunday and I really wanted to beat up every single person in that place that was wearing black and gold)...and there's me in the same fancy silver car laughing b/c I couldn't get out of the bucket seats! needless to say, I'm glad I wasn't wearing a skirt!

A bit of a delay...

I apologize for the delay in posting an update...it's been a bit of an adjustment getting back in to the swing of things now that I'm back to work. I think we have finally figured things out, for now!! I will admit that going back to work wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I think it was a mix of knowing that I didn't have a choice and knowing that if I couldn't stay home with Aiden, he was going to be with the next best person...my mother! I also managed to "fix" my schedule so I work the same hours every day which is not too common in the banking world!

These pictures reflect a typical night at the Heimbuch house! I love it!!!

So on to Aiden...what an angel! We are having so much fun with him b/c he's really getting a personality (and a bit of an Irish temper I will add). We don't see him mad too often but when he is, watch out! He recognizes me and Mike when we are around and has ear to ear toothless smiles for us which are just adorable! He recognizes our voices when we're in the room and squirms his head around until he can find where we are. He's been sleeping through the night for the most part which is wonderful and even when he doesn't, he's only up once for no more than 30 minutes so we are counting our blessings!

We watched the Inauguration last night and Aiden was in awe, not sure if it was the Inauguration or just the colorful "stuff" on the TV but none the less, it was cute to watch. When I went to pick him up yesterday my mom showed me some pictures that she took of him, posed in front of their TV holding an American flag and watching Obama. It was so cute and a great idea that I had to take some of our own when we got home (I didn't have an American flag so just pretend he's holding one)! p.s. he LOVED Michelle's white ball gown!

For those of you that haven't seen Aiden recently I will tell you that he is a mover. Well as much as a 3 1/2 month old can move that is. His legs are always "kicking" and his arms are always waving in the air. With that said we decided to hang his swing tonight and see how he did. He didn't like it the first time we put him in it, not sure if it's b/c he was hungry or b/c it was a bit too low to the ground. So after a hearty bottle and a 2 inch lift we tried again and this time no crying! I'm not sure he really understands what it is yet b/c he really just twirls around at this point he doesn't really jump but I think he'll be bounding in no time!

That's all for now! Thanks for your patience with my laziness in posting!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

What a wonderful week we have had...our first Christmas and New Year with Aiden and of course his christening! So much excitement!

Aiden with mommy and daddy, his godparents Aunt Patty and Uncle Kevin and Fr. Snyder (the same priest that married me and Mike).

This baptism outfit it over 30 years old! My brother wore it for his baptism as did all of our newphews!
The Dornisch bunch!
The Heimbuch/Horner/Kirtley bunch!
Aiden is getting bigger by the minute and he's starting to show his personality which is so much fun to watch! Hard to believe but I have to go back to work on Monday :( I have LOVED being home with him for the past 13 weeks and it's going to be hard to leave him but I know I have to go back to work. Since my mom will be watching him when I go back to work I have peace of mind knowing he will be well taken care of!

Time to watch some college football with my boys! Hope you all have a wondeful New Year's Day, eat lots of pork and sauerkraut (ours is in the crock pot and it smells deeeelish)!

He's not a newborn anymore...

Hard to believe but Aiden is no longer considered a "newborn" in medical terms. He is now an "infant"...I guess I never really knew there was a difference! We took him to his 2 month check up on Friday and all is great with him! The doctor was very pleased with his growth and his progress! He is now 13 pounds 4 ounces and 24 inches long. He did have to get 4 shots which was heartbreaking to watch b/c he didn't know what hit him and he gave me and Mike the saddest pout we've seen yet! Not to worry, as soon as the nurst was done pricking him, we scooped him up and calmed him down long enough to put his clothes on and get him into his car seat. Thankfully he forgot about the pain before we were out of the parking lot, he was asleep in no time, I think he wore himself out!

Yesterday Aiden and I had dinner at my parents house b/c daddy had plans after work with a client. While we were there we picked up some fun things from Aiden's cousins (the Becklets)! Aiden got his first piece of furniture, a Bumbo chair! When we got home Mike put him in the seat and oh my...we were nearly crying we were laughing so hard! It was so cute, Aiden thought he was such a big boy sitting on his own! He sat there for a good 20 minutes before he had enough and wanted out!

He was talking to daddy while mommy took 200 pictures!

We have a big party this Friday with our friends. There are 8 of us (4 couples) and 3 of the couples have baby boys under 6 months old the other couple has a 3 year old and a little girl due in January. It's going to be a fun time with all the babies together for the first time! I'll be sure to take the camera and get lots of pictures! We also have Mike's work holiday party on Thursday night which will for sure be a good time!

The Eagles future starting QB!

Have a great week everyone!

Thanksgiving!

Mike and I had a wonderful first Thanksgiving with Aiden...we started the day at Grandma's house and enjoyed some time with her. Then we headed to Scott and Susan's where a fun time was had by all at this year's Dornisch Thanksgiving celebration! We all enjoyed the wonderful spread the Cavada's provided (thank you)!

We then tried to have a photo shoot with all 11 grandchildren but as you can see they didn't all want to cooperate but the picture sure does give the sense of chaos that was happening in the "studio"!

The day proved to be a bit too exciting for Daniel to handle! Or maybe he was just trying to get some quiet time away from his sisters!

The eleven little Dornisch "angels"!

The kids table...

We just love this picture of Aiden and his winter hat that Nanny got him that will probably fit him next year too!

Out little turkey.

Can't wait for Christmas! Only 18 more days...can you stand it?!?!
