I miss..

I miss the army days, especially those in MTW. Well, kinda..
I don't know what's really driving me to write this entry out of the blue (after like )$^)#(@^$)#@ years of not blogging). It's just the sudden thought that the 'those-were-the-days' days were so much better.
Now that school has started, I miss those days even more.
I miss the MTW days,
..even though it meant serving the nation and receiving the somewhat miserable pay paid out to us on the 10th of every month.
..even though it meant waking up in the wee hours of the morning and only sleeping at unearthly hours.
..even though it meant that the only entertaining thing on the OA is the variety of random flash games.
..even though it meant the bo-bian-lan-lan-suck-thumb need to work with unreasonable superiors and having your weekends burnt whether is it for guard duty, live firing or any other nonsense.
..even though it meant the endless repetitive courses which we had to take and the logistical and administrative nightmare which goes on in the background which no one usually sees and appreciates.
I miss the confusion I get from 'test paper.doc', 'test paper (latest).doc' and 'test paper (latest use this one).doc'.
I miss the authority (though not much) I had over the trainees.
I miss the camaraderie I shared with my buddies.
I miss the responsibilities I had as an instructor.
I miss the satisfaction I get out of each course.
I miss the compliments on a job well done after, well, every job well done.
I miss the good, the bad and every single fuckin' moment of it. |

Thailand from 1 Aug till 16 Aug.
Not going with my good buddies this time. But i do hope it'll be an enjoyable trip nevertheless.

It's been a while

Sometimes, i think i'm too compromising.
Saying "yes" and "ok" all the time. Giving in all the time. Pleasing everybody all the time. Making everyone satisfied and happy all the time.
Guess it's just my nature.
Anyway, NS's been quite an experience. Kinda regretting that i haven't really been blogging and chronicling this whole journey. Rather pointless if i were to start now. About half a year to go.

The CNY break is over.. too quickly.
How i wish that now, i'm still on my way home after booking out on 6 Jan.
How i wish that field camp isn't on this Sun so that i can have a longer break.
I don't wanna book in.
I don't wanna go back to the island.
I don't wanna go for field camp.
