Not Yet

Just wanted to let you know that the baby hasn't arrived yet, but the induction day is less than a week away (July 5th). We'll keep you posted!

The baby quilt is done!

When I first found out I was pregnant I thought it would be fun & special to make a quilt for the baby! My mom & I went to this neat quilting shop in Perham, MN and found the cutest fabric to make a rag quilt. Well during the first trimester of the pregnancy I was way too tired to work on the quilt. At the end of the second trimester I had enough energy to go out to my sister LaShawn's place to have her help me cut the fabric. Then slowly, but surely I got the quilt put together and finished it a couple of weeks ago. The whole process made me realize that I probably won't be on top of things enough to make each of my children a special quilt - they'll have to share this one!
My favorite thing about a rag quilt is that it's easy to hide your mistakes!

Baby's Arrival

I'm in the middle of my 37th week! When I went to my doctor's appointment on Monday he talked to me about Induction. He prefers induction because then a full day crew is on staff which is good if something were to go wrong. My due date is July 9th, but if the baby hasn't come by July 5th my doctor is going to induce labor! It's crazy to think that the baby WILL be here in 2 weeks!

Making the Wedding Invites

The day after Jill's shower I went over to her parent's place to help get her wedding invites ready to go! The invites turned out great!

Shower for Jill

On Thursday, June 14th we honored my cousin Jill, who is getting married September 7th, with a Bridal Shower! Jill is only 2 years younger than me so we basically grew up together! When we were little we didn't always appreciate each other, but now we are more than cousins - we're great friends! I'm so excited for her and Zach!

Summer Softball

So far this blog has pretty much been about me & the baby and very little of Mike. I certainly don't mean to leave Mike out. It's just that he's been busy with staff training out at camp for the last two weeks. Now things are getting back on schedule and that includes Church League Summer Softball!
Mike plays on the Bethel 3 team (the less competitive of the Bethel teams) on Monday nights. Last night they played two games and unfortunately they loss both. In my humble opinion Mike played quite well! Here are some pictures I took at the game!
Batter Up!

Mike says he looks like Babe Ruth in this picture!

Go, Mike Go!

And he's home! Mark it in the books!

Swollen Hands

This winter I decided that I'd take my wedding ring off in May so that I wouldn't need to worry about my hands swelling during the summer. Well, I tried to take my ring off in May and had no luck. Lots of people offered up suggestions on how to get it off - I tired all those and had no luck. So a few weeks ago we realized that the only way it was coming off was to have it cut off! Today I went to the place where Mike bought my ring and had it cut off. As you can see from the pictures it is quite a relief to have it off!

The end of week 35

Here are some more not so exciting belly pictures taken at the end of week 35! As of tomorrow I'm on my last month of pregnancy! Mike and I pretty much have things ready for the baby to arrive!
At work I've been making notes on my job so that others at the store can take over once the baby comes. During my maternity leave I will continue to take care of one of my usual tasks that will only require me to go into the office once a week for an hour or two. After my maternity leave I'll be going back to work at Interstate part-time and able to do most of it from home, which is great! Another blessing is that when I'm at the store the baby will be taken care of by Mike or my mom!
