4 Months Old

Knox is such a fun baby! He is starting to babble and coo a lot and wants to be included in everything. Ledger can always make him smile or calm him down. He's mostly wearing 3-6 month clothes now, mostly because of the length. He is enjoying exploring each and every finger thoroughly with his mouth. He is reaching for toys and holding on to them. He is starting to try to stand and put weight on his legs. He loves rolling from side to side but doesn't roll completely over much.He will nap in his carseat as long as we are driving or moving but we can't stop for long without him waking up.He gets super cranky if he gets overtired and has a really hard time getting to sleep. Luckily we know how to avoid that when we can. He is still waking up most nights around 3:30 am to eat and he recently started sleeping in his crib at night. He usually takes two two-hour naps and a shorter catnap in the evening. He is still only pooping about every 5 days. We've had a couple longer stretches this month that were no fun at all. Knox weighed in at 13 lbs 8 oz which is in the 21st percentile. That's a big jump from the 12th percentile two months ago and a 3 lbs gain. Yay mommy!!! He is measuring 26 inches which is in the 84th percentile, up from the 81st percentile and a 2 inch growth. Yay daddy :)

A Camping We Will Go - Day 2

Knox was the first one to test out the raft. He doesn't look like he approves though. This photo was taken as evidence that we survived our first night of camping with two little kids... and one flat air mattress. After breakfast Marq and Ledger paddled off on an adventure while Knox and I relaxed on the beach with the dogs. Chevy of course swam out to keep an eye on Ledger. She hates to swim but she can't let him out of her sight so she swam all the way across to the island and back. Hanging out on the beach. We managed to stay entertained. After boating we did more treasure hunting. This time the map led us to a treasure box! Baby Knox had fun too. After dinner the boys went for a bike ride all the way around the camping loop. Ledger was so excited to go for a bike ride with dad!
Chevy was exhausted from swimming. She curled up in her chair and moved as little as possible.
Ledger practiced some stunts with dad. He's getting brave!
Knox hung out by the campfire with us. He loves being outside, looking at the trees and being part of the family.
He loves to watch his big brother!
He was a pretty happy boy.
It was crazy to think that just last year we did this trip without Knox. Look what we've accomplished in a year!
So happy to be able to spend time and make very special memories with both our boys! And of course our sweet dogs.

A Camping We Will Go - Day 1

It's that time of year again... FALL. And in our family, Fall means camping. Baby or no baby. One of our favorite family camping trips so far was our trip to Lake Waldo last year so we really wanted to go back.
This year we found tons of cool stuff there... like a pirate map in our camp! Ledger searched the campground while we setup camp :)
After much searching the map led us to a cool telescope.
Ledger spent the next hour or so searching with the telescope. (Great investment!)
He even discovered a lake monster living at the far end of the lake.
He searched and searched for the X on the map.
Finally the map led him to a fishing pole just his size!
Daddy helped him get a weight on the end of the line so he could learn to cast.
The rest of the evening was spent learning to cast his pole and practicing in camp.
Best $10 we ever spent!

3 Months Old

My baby is officially not a Newborn anymore. HOW did that happen!?!?
He looks so serious in this photo but Knox usually has a heart-melting smile :) He is such a happy baby! He loves to talk and play and he is recognizing faces. He discovered his fists this month and tries to cram them into his mouth. He is definitely another Mama's Boy :) I can't help it if all the boys love me!!! :) He loves to be held, sang to or played with. He is swatting at toys and babbling a lot. He has started sleeping as much as 6 hours at night, except when he's going through a frequent growth spurt. We think he weighs approximately 12 pounds. He loves to snuggle, more specifically he loves to nuzzle his face into your neck, arm, chest or a blanket. He is still sleeping in his bassinet in our room at night and napping in his crib during the day. He usually takes three good naps a day anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half each. He has started enjoying bath-time much more and likes his lotion massage afterwards. He loves his carseat and sleeps like a champ in it. If all else fails I know I can always put him in his carseat and he'll sleep. He is still only pooping about every 5 days which means he usually gets a bellyache around Day 4 :( We're hoping he'll grow out of that soon if his growth (height-wise) ever slows down a little bit. The Dr. says right now he is using every calorie to grow and not wasting much at all. This sweet boy has stolen all our hearts. I'm still begging him to STOP growing up though!
