Kid's Day

So the funniest thing happened to us.  We had Mother's Day, followed by Father's Day.  The kids loved those days, but couldn't believe there wasn't a Kid's Day.  So, we created one.  As you can see, the kids have a great habit of coming into our beds in the middle of the night.  Needless to say, we made them a special breakfast in bed for them, our bed.  They felt so special that I think we will keep doing this each July.  Mom get May, Dad gets June and the kids get July.  We love you guys!

Kid's Triathlon Summer 2011

The kids get their numbers on their arms before the race to show their age group.

 The swim is always interesting with 3 kids under the age of 6 and two that can't go by themselves at all.  This year Katy got in the water with the boys to help them and it was the first year Kendra went all  by herself int he water and she did an excellent job.

Next came biking which is not very easy for 2 parents to chase 3 kids doing, but Kendra was so fast that I only watched her ride away and say goodbye.

 Kendra finished the run just as strong as she always does.  She runs the whole thing and never complains. 

Below shows Trevor and Kendra supporting Travis while he finished the race.  It was cool to see them go back and cheer him on and then actually run with him to the end. 

Salt Lake Here We Come Again

It seems like each year we make a trip over to Utah to visit family and have a mini vacation. 

While there, we like to go to the dinosaur museum and let the kids be amazed and just have fun.  I guess we as adults like to go too.

Mom Goes to Girls Camp

Mom was lucky enough to have a chance to get away and have a week just for herself.  She wasn't too sure at first, even very against it, but came back with a huge smile on her face.  It was a great experience for her as well as Dad.

 It was very beautiful up there.  Two of the fun things she did was Kayaking and rock climbing.  Both of these are out of Katy's comfort zone, but now her zone is a little bigger because of these experiences.

While Mom is Away!

Mom got a chance to go to girls camp this year.  She had a great time, but so did we.  We cleaned and played all week.  We wanted Mom to come home to a clean house and happy kids.  While Mom was gone, we busted out the guns and rope and headed to the hills.  Maybe I should they headed to the hills and Dad was all tied up.

 Below was a little time for lunch. The kids were so well behaved.  Mom was worried, but she does such good work with them that they really kept Dad in line.

Summer Time and a Slack Line

We love the summer time.  You get to spend so much time outside, especially the evenings.  We finally finished our slack line and put it to good use on one of those nice summer evenings.

 Travis is all ready for smores.  We did them over the BBQ.
