New Year's Eve

Rock Band it was.  We had a small Rock Band party this year, or at least the little kids did.  The Logan's came over to celebrate an early new years, but that turned into a late new years around 11:00 I think it was.  That is late when you are talking about 2 2year olds and a third one that was almost 2.

The night started with some great music my The Jason's and the 3 strikes.  If anyone gets a chance to listen to them live I definately recommend it.

The Logans came to party and really left there mark.  No really, they left a bright pink tint to our carpet.  Made for a fun night though.  Wouldn't want it any other way, it's nice to have family close to spend time with.

A happy 11:00pm with sparkling cider and a conversation about whether it was cavities (soda) or not.  Travis liked it and Trevor called it tasty with a yucky face.

Christmas 2009

Christmas this year was a very magical year for our kids.  They are all at the point of understanding the excitement and one is old enough to understand the real meaning of Christmas.  However all 3 went around the house singing "Happy Birthday to Jesus" for a week.  We had a great time staying home this year, except to go across the highway for dinner.

The kids even had a chance to wrap their own gifts that they were giving.  They aren't wrapped perfectly, but you can tell they were wrapped with love.

Here are the kids putting out cookies for Santa.  As you can see they didn't really leave very many for the big man.

Kendra got her pogo stick that she has been asking for the last 2 years.  She still isn't big enough to do it.  She really enjoyed her sleeping bag and her Leapster.

Travis and Trevor each got a bike, and Grandma and Grandpa gave them a remote control car.

The best part of the day was getting a little time with the kids.

Katy's Art Desk

As many of you know, Katy really loves to draw.  She knows she is good but doesn't think she is, get it?  Anyway, I didn't like our current set up so I decided to add on to the computer desk I built and make her an art desk.  I finally finished it, now she gets to organize the drawers and such with all her goodies.  I am going to add a peice in the future that will allow her to raise up the top.  Should be fun, but that will have to wait a while.

12 Days of Christmas

Each year Katy does the 12 Days of Christmas for our kids.  Maybe not your traditional 12 Days of Christmas, but still fun.  She wraps 12 Christmas books and lets the kids open one each of the nights and reads it to them.  The boys finally like to sit and be read to.  Here is a picture of the 12 books she did this year.

Disneyland

After about 6 huge garage slaes & putting EVERY coin they found in the "Disneyland jar" we finally made it.  There was a time when I thought Travis truely thought money was called Disneyland.  When he would find a coin he would say, "I found a Disneyland" and then would run to the jar and drop it in.  We decided to go on Katy's birthday and at Christmas time so we could see it all decorated, it was cool.  When we walked in the first day Travis said "it's so beautiful!" It was all done up in Christmas fashion. It really was beautiful. We did all kinds of rides, big ones, little ones, and dizzy ones.  Well, Dad didn't do dizzy ones, just the kids and Mom.  We did It's a Small World (christmas style) first. Kendra rode Splash Mountain for the first time, and says she will probably do it again when she is 6 or maybe 7 or 8.  It was a really good time and we can't wait to go again.  Mom's favorite ride is Soaring over California.  She wanted to take Kendra on that ride so bad that it was the first thing we did on the days we went to California Adventure.  She was explaing the ride to her as they walked in & was telling her about the big "tv screan"  exlaining that it is a huge tv screen, the biggest one she has ever seen!  Kendra asked if it was as big as the Logan's TV?  We laughed out loud, too funny!  As soon as the ride began and we took off, she leaned over and asked if we were still at Disneyland?  Needless to say Kendra didn't like the ride as much as Mom, but Mom still loves it.

Here is your traditional picture in front of Mickey, but he has a Santa hat on, as do all of us.

When we would ask Travis what he wanted to do, he would just say he wanted to see Mickey and Tigger.  Lucky for him we were able to meet both and get a family picture with each.  We also met Pooh, Eyore, some Green Army Men and tons of princesses (for Kendra).

The green army men were so funny, mainly because our kids were the stars of the show.  Especially the twins.  Travis and Trevor got to be part of the show all by themselves, and they stole it.  Travis or should I say Private You, cried and went "AWOL" and private Trevor played the drums with the band.  Fun Stuff!

The last day we were there it really rained good on us.  That didn't stop us from doing the last few rides again that we wanted to.  On the way back to the hotel to dry and relax, both boys fell asleep.  One on Dad's shoulders and the other standing in the back of the stroller, too funny!

Life's Rules according to Kendra

We have not been able to sell one of the huge beanbags that we have and were wanting some more space in the family room for Christmas. So we decided to try to stick one of them up on top of Kendras top bunk bed. Mark was not home so just Kendra and I were trying to move this HUGE comfysack! We were doing really well until we got to her bedroom door (evan made it around that funky corner) She was pushing and I was pulling and I finally said "I have to take a break" and I plopped down on the bag. From the other side I hear her say... "Rule #3: if you are trying to get something big through a door , make sure you have a big door!" That was so funny I had to climb over and run and get the camera. Well, we did finally get it through the door, but I think we will wait for Daddy to get home to help us get it up on the top of the bed.

* * * SnOw DaY * * *!

It started snowing last night and was about 4 inchese by the time we went to sleep. We woke to 14+ inches, and it kept falling all day! School was closed, so we had Daddy home with us! We enjoyed staying close to the fire and making a yummy breakfast. Soon it was time to go out in it! I think we spent more time dressing everyone up than they spent out playing in it. Daddy plunked Travis down in it and you could only see him from the waist up. They all wanted to go down the slide and swing. Kendra tried to make a snow angel but it was too deep.  Five minutes later everyone was back inside and headed for a warm bath. I am not sure they even had time to really get cold.  Then Mark and I made the kids "real" snowcones with the syrup we had from last summer and they ate them in the bath tub. When the boys went down for a nap, I showed Kendra how to make paper snowflakes.  She got the hang of it very quickly and before we new it, it was "snowing" inside. What a FuN FUN FuN snow day!

A Birthday Party and a Light Parade

Happy Birthday to Momma! What nice gifts you all gave me this year. I love my lavender basket and my new purse and can't wait to use my pedicure gift certificate! Now bring on the I-Tunes Baby!

While singing Happy Birthday and getting ready to blow out the birthday candles (that spelled out KATY don't bother counting them) on my cake, Travis and Trevor, and Kendra tried to help out. One was on each side of me and mid way through the song, Trevor blew out the Y and the T then Travis quickly blew out the K and the A. We all laughed and Mark relit a few, only to have Kendra, feeling left out, finish it off. We all laughed again and I made a wish anyway....by the way it came true!

~*~*~*~*~*~
We always like to go where we call home for the Christmas Light Parade.

We can walk from Mom and Dad's house, but we always park a car by the HWY too, just in case it gets too cold and someone need to jump in and warm up a bit before we head back for hot cocoa.

Travis totally "gets" parades now. He's all in it for the candy! No matter how many times we say "let's wait till we get home to eat the candy" he has lolly pop juice running down his chin or tootsie roll stuck to his face half way through.

Our patriotic child! Trevor was standing by Papa when the Flag came by and Papa asked him what you do when you see the Flag. Papa covered his heart, expecting Trevor to do the same, but with a Momma that has been a scout leader his whole life (and then some) he knows to solute that flag as it passes!

This is also the child that could recite the entire Pledge of Allegiance before his second birthday! Look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfKFNd0Unic

And of course the Big Man at the end!

Happy Birthday Papa Jack

I made a camera cake for a very special person, my Granddad. He is a great photographer, even had his own studio for a while when he was younger. It seems like my whole childhood was spent being a model. "Hold your head this way... turn that way... lick your lips... chin down" he would always say. If you grew up with me that would make you laugh a bit. As I was making this cake I was realizing how times have changed and was remembering how HEAVY his camera bag used to be! I was going to make a film canister to go along with it and realized I was making a digital camera and those little canisters that held my coins, and jellybeans and rolly polies as a child are long gone. However, all those photographs are still around but now we put them on a blog. Happy Birthday Granddaddy! Happy Birthday Papa Jack!

Uncle Bill & Aunt Edna

My Grandads brother came to visit while they were here visiting my grandparents. That's my (great)Uncle Bill and (great) Aunt Edna. They drove all the way from Alabama and still look exactly the same way they did when I was Kendras age! Some people look the same forever I guess. I was nice little visit.

BYU vs Utah and Lights at Thanksgiving Point

We were able to get some tickets to THE game from some friends who weren't using their season tickets and Mark was NOT about to pass them up! He and Kevin went and represented each team, respectively. It was a good game, even going into overtime and the COUGARS coming out on top!!! Final score... BYU 26 and Utah 23. And that's the way we like it!!

On the way back from the game, we stopped at Thanksgiving Point so see the lights.
