Peekaboo

Well Owen has started playing a new game. He will take whatever is in his hands, whether it be a burpcloth, dishtowel, bib, shirt, whatever and he will lift it up over his face so it is covering his face then I start saying "Oh no where is Owen" then he will rip it off his face and I say "peekaboo" and he starts smiling so big and laughing. He will literally do this for as long as I keep going. He LOVES it. It is so cute and so funny and it makes me so happy. What a big boy I have. He is getting so smart and just growing so much. I love my little Owen so so much.
This is him with the towel over his face

This is him after he pulled it down, he is so happy!

Hobble Creek Half Marathon

So good new for me! I have been wanting to do the Hobble Creek Half Marathon in August, but when I went to sign up it was all full. Well, my mom and dad are signed up for it, but my dad's hip has been bothering him and he needs to rest it so he is going to give me his place so I can run! I am way way way excited! I haven't run a half marathon since right before I got pregnant with Owen. I am kinda nervous because I haven't really been training for a half. The most I have run is 6 or 7 miles straight. The marathon is the 23rd of August, Owens 6 month birthday! So that gives me a few weeks to try and build up to at least 10 to 12 miles. Today I did 7, I could have probably done more but I was tired and don't want to overdue it. Anyways I am excited! Maybe this will finally give me motivation to rid myself these last few pregnancy pounds that are stubbornly hanging onto my waist!

Pioneer Day 10K

For Pioneer Day, July 24, I ran a 10k with Shae and one of her friends Veronica. I got up at 4:15 am to leave my house and meet Shae at her house by 4:45 then we drove downtown and met her friend by 5:30 and then the race started at 6:00 am! I didn't officially register so I don't know my exact time, but at home on my treadmill I can usually run it somewhere between 55 and 57 minutes (I have been running a lot). It did take a while to get to the starting line and then I had to stop and take a potty break so by the time I finished the cross line they said it was a little over an hour. I think though if I count the time it took to get the the start line and the bathroom I ended up doing it in around 56 to 59 minutes. At least under an hour! It was a lot of fun, I think I ran it slower than I normally would have because I didn't register and wouldn't have an official time so if I would have I probably would have been faster. Oh well, maybe next time!

This is us right before the race at 5:30 am!
This is my super hot running pose, it is EXACTLY what I looked like when I ran. This was taken right after the race.
Us right after the race, we were all so sweaty and hot!Ok now for the funny Shae story! Right next to her car there was a parked motorcycle. So after the race she decided she wanted to get a picture of her on the motorcycle, she get gets on and right as we started taking the picture, we see two boys driving on a motorcycle and hear them yell, "Hey, get off that bike!" The boys then rode up and it WAS one of their motorcycles!! Ha ha, it was so funny, she was so embarrassed but they were laughing about it and joking, I don't think he was really mad but boy did we feel dumb! What a coincidence that right as we take a picture of her on the bike they happened to ride up! Here are the pictures...

Update on Owen

Yowza it's been a long time since I have updated! I guess we have just been super busy! First things first, Owen stopped sleeping through the night and started acting hungry a lot and eating all the time so I talked to the pediatrician and they told me to start rice cereal, so we have been giving him rice cereal at night before bed. He is so cute! Here is his first night trying it out...

We also went to the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa (my parents), Aunt Celeste and cousins Keaton and Cambry, I don't think Owen really had a good time, I don't know if he got Heat rash or had allergies but he was pretty blotchy and had runny eyes and nose :(

If you look close you can see his watery eyes...it was so sad! Luckily he finally went to sleep and the rest of the zoo was great.
We also went up to Idaho with the other Grandma and Grandpa (Lee's parents) to stay with Lee's sister Marian for th 4th of July. It was a lot of fun. Marian had a lot of animals for Owen to look at. She had a bird that loved Owen and Owen loved him. The bird would walk right up to him and they would stare at each other, it was pretty cute. Luckily the bird didn't come to close, twice the bird did land on his head, but Owen didn't cry, I think he was too curious and interested in the bird...

Owen has also been rolling over every second he can. He rolls from his back to his tummy, but not from his tummy to hisback. Literally I will turn my back for one second and he is on his tummy. Recently he started to fall asleep on his tummy..scary! I always turn him over but it is turning into his new favorite thing, next to putting his feet straigt up in the air and grabbing his feet.

Don't worry I snapped the shot then turned him over, I don't let him sleep like this if I can help it.
We have done a few other fun things such as going hiking and taking a few small daytrips to various places. This weekend we are going to go camping up at Payson Lakes so I am really excited for that. I will try to be better at posting, the summer is just a busy time I guess!
