Happy Birthday Britt!

Ok, so it is about four days late, but we celebrated Britt's six birthday on Saturday with her first friend party. We had a carnival with all the fixings- corn dogs, snow cones, popcorn face painting, and games. The girls had so much fun. I can't believe she is six! She has grown up so much this year. She is becoming less shy and more outgoing. I am blessed to have such a great daughter.

Other updates: I have not posted in a while. This has been a crazy fall. Matt was out of town for two weeks for work. Then he went on a football/golf trip, while the girls and I had the flu- fun times :( I am also trying to finish up my master's degree with one last class.

Back to School

I know we have been in school for several weeks, but I wanted to wait until Courtney had her first day of preschool. So Britt is now in Kindergarden and she loves it. I can't believe how much they learn! She already knows how to spell colors, the days of the week, and the months of the year. Courtney is in preschool also this year. She is very excited. Her first day, she had her back pack on for about an hour and a half before school was going to start. She has not talked that much about school except she was excited to tell my mom that they had bathrooms at her school! I guess it doesn't take much to excite a three year old.

We have had an interesting week. On Tuesday Britt was playing on the playground and fell from the bar onto her head. Thankfully Matt was there. He said she was bleeding a lot and she was acting disoriented. He called the doctor and then took her to the ER to get a head CT. Everything turned out fine, but it was a bit of a scare. Of course I knew nothing because I was at school and recieved a voice mail that said he took Britt to the ER. I think next time Matt will try a little harder to reach me a school.

Shampooper

Yes, we own a camper. On our 10th anniversery (July 10), Matt shows up with his newest hobby- a camper. I don't really enjoy camping, but I am sure we will have lots of fun family times together in it. We named it the shampooper because of the size of the bathroom. In order to take a shower, you have to sit on the toliet, so we thought a great name would be the shampooper becasue you could go to the bathroom and take a shower at the same time. A great time saver :) This past weekend we took it camping to Clinton Lake with some of Matt's family and had a fun time. Here are some of picture of our weekend.

It is SUMMER:)

So we have not posted updates in forever. It has been a busy spring. We have landscaped, gone to many graduation parties, and even to disney world over spring break. We should slow down a bit during the summer, eventhough I am taking 9 credit hours of graduate class. Here are some great pictures of our trip to disney during spring break.

Stitch

What a week! Last weekend I went to Chicago for a teacher's meeting. I got home about 6:30 on Saturday night, hoping to have a fun evening with my family. Matt met me in the driveway and said that there was an accident and we might have to go to the hospital. For a brief moment I panicked, then he told me what happened. Britt is very competitive with the Wii. She was playing tennis on the Wii and Courtney walked in front of her and hit her on her eyebrow and check. Matt said there was a lot of blood and crying. We had no clue about stitches so we took her over to the Dean's(they have experience with stitches)to see if they thought she needed stitches(They said no). Then I took her to La Gondola to pick up supper and the workers thought she should get stitches. Then I called a friend who was a nurse and she said that since it was still bleeding (over an hour), she should go to the ER. So Matt took her to the ER and three hours later, she came home with one stitch. She was so good the whole time. Yesterday we got it taken out and she told the doctor that she wanted two stickers; one for her and one for her sister. What a lesson in forgiveness!

As far as the resolutions are going, I have not worked out in a couple of weeks and Britt asked me the other day if her bottom goes up and down when she walks like mine does. I probably should get going on the hip hop abs workout.

Family Fun!

We have been having a lot of family fun the past couple of days. It started on Saturday night. We went to the Bradley game. Before the game, we tried to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings- to redeem coupons for 18 free wings. It was so crowded, we called our order in, picked up some drinks at the local gas station, and ate in the parking lot- I know, pathetic! The game was so crowded and the girls loved it. On Sunday afternoon we went to see Beauty and the Beast Jr at Eastlight theatre. It was put on by something called the Penguin Project, a cast made up of teenagers with disabilities. I had three students in the production. It was so good! The girls loved it and sat through the whole thing, even though it was nap time. After the play, we went to visit Uncle Brad who had a hip replaced on Thursday. The cousins had a great time playing together. On Monday night, we had game night- Sequence. Matt and I are now addicted to it and have played a game each night.

Update on the resolutions:

When I pick up the girls, they have been asking which workout tape we are going to do before supper. They are my cheerleaders and do the workouts with me. Today, my back started hurting, so I took the day off from workouts, hopefully it is a one time thing. As far as the reading, I am only one day behind, so I should be able to catch up soon.

New Year Resolutions Anyone?

I thought I would post my new year resolutions so you can all keep me accountable.

1. Read through the bible in a year- pray that I will not just go through the motions of reading it, but that I will keep having the desire to do it.

2. Get back into exercising. I have not done any physical activity for at least two years. So far I have done the "Power 90" two times this week. My goal is be a pre-baby weight by summer- so we will see.
