It is now the end of July. I am sitting in the Denver airport. We missed our connecting flight to Salt Lake which was at 5:30 PM and then they overbooked the 6:50 flight so our flight is the 9:47 flight and we just found out that it has been delayed. I am sitting here people watching and I know that there must be a lesson to learn from all of this.
Brian and I had a fun Anniversary/Birthday trip to Steamboat Springs. Our favorites... tubing down the river, hiking to the top of the gondola and then riding it down, racing down the alpine slide and most of all some good quiet time together. That was long overdue and very much appreciated.

This month we also had our 20-30-40-50 birthday party. Heather turned 20, Ann turned 30, I turned 40 and Karen turned 50. We decided we couldn't let these land mark birthdays go by without celebrating. We headed to Logan for the night. We stayed in the super 8 motel (a little scary) we went to get pedicures Ann and Heather went first and then the store started to flood. Karen and I sat on the couch and got some sericus entertainment from the shop owner. We went to Firehouse pizza and got dinner and most importantly Pizookies. Then Karen took us on a GPS hunt. We had a hilarious time at the headstone GPS stop. Those of us with weak bladders had to sit down so we wouldn't wet our pants.
Ann and Heather then treated Karen and me to pedicures...I think we got the better end of the deal.

There are many other things that have happened in July but those are the two that stand out in my mind the most. Karlee took drivers ed at the ATC, she is now driving with the instructor. I know I need to chill out when she drives with me but it is sooooo scary!
Dustin is getting ready to start football, he is not playing older but lighter. I am just going to concentrate on him being fast as a speeding bullet.

Brian's injuries from the Logan Peak Race. I still say he is one Crazy Man

We just celebrated the 4th of July at Liberty Days. We love to go to Liberty Days because it gives us a chance to see people that we haven't seen for a long time!!
We went to the Logan Fireworks on the 3rd with the Combe's. It's good to go back to USU with fellow Aggies. I sure do love Logan!!
Allyson and Karlee woke up early and ran in the Huntsville 10K and 5K. Allyson took first for the women in the 10K and Karlee took 2nd in the 5K.
My favorites at Liberty Days...
Seeing old friends.
Watching the Volleyball tournament...(I'm still rooting for the Wadman's to win 1st place) they took 3rd this year.
The greased pole. Dustin is determined to get that $50.00 bill. One year I know he will.
The Fireworks. It is fun to lay down in the park and see the fireworks up close and personal with our neighbors and friends!
We also went to a Barbecue at the Wadman's for Brad's birthday. It is always good to visit with family. We are blessed!!

June 2009

June is almost over I can't believe how fast it has gone. We have had a very rainy, and cool June.
Ally and Karlee are working as lifeguards. Ally is also teaching swim lessons.
Lynzi and Dustin have been working at home.
We went to Cedar City and stayed at the Yellow house. Karlee played soccer down there and we had a fun relaxing time.
Our stake went on the Trek. My testimony of fasting, prayer and temple work increased when planning the trek. We all fasted and went to the temple and it seemed like the Ma and Pa family groups just fell into place. We have had such a rainy time and I prayed so hard for good weather. It rained just at the very first of the trek and then was clear and perfect while we were there. When we went to clean up and head out the storm clouds moved in again and it rained all the way home. I felt it was a definite answer to prayer.
We had a "Deeter Drive In" at our house and watched the movie Forever Strong. I thought it was a great movie and we had a lot of friends come.
After getting all the busy parts of June done, we now get to start the Lazy Days of Summer. Yeah!
Karlee went to Rapport last weekend and came back very enthusiastic, she is such a good girl.
Brian ran the Logan Peak Race and hurt his foot halfway through the race, he ran 15 miles on a hurt foot and now has some battle wounds to show.
That pretty much sums up June 2009. Overall it has been a great month.

School's out for the summer and it is so great to be laid back!! We got our flowers planted and the yard is starting to come along. That is a lot of work!!! We are on the countdown for TREK!!!! June 18-20. All I can say is June 21st will be a celebration at our house.
Allyson and Karlee are both lifeguarding this summer. Dustin and Lynzi also have jobs around our home so we are all staying busy.

Happy Birthday #11 Big D.
He had a three day birthday. We stayed at a Days Inn in Springville the night before and then went to Ally's track meet. He brought Krispy Kream Doughnuts to his class at school and then went to the Father and Son's campout on his birthday. On Saturday, he had a FOOTBALL party up at Wadman's park with his buddies. His favorites at the party...
1. Playing football
2. The Snack Shack
3. Dustin Dollars (they had to earn money to buy stuff at the Snack Shack)
4. Playing on the sports court
5. The contests
Then on Sunday he had his birthday dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Montgomery. Hamburgers on the grill, watermelon, corn on the cob. Football cupcakes and to top it all off TRICK CANDLES.
What a fun kid.

Track season is officially over. Here is how it all played out...
Allyson took 4th in the 3200 at State and 6th in the 1600. GREAT JOB ALLY!
Karlee took 1st in the 800, 1600, and 4X4 medley. Her 4X4 team also broke the school record. Cool!
Lynzi ran for the first year and she got a personal record at district, she ran the mile in 6:20. Awesome job Lynzi.

It has been teacher appreciation week and secretary appreciation day. I have had so much fun making thank you's for these great people in our life. Here are some pictures of what I did for 2 of the days.

Dustin just got his arrow of light in Cub Scouts. Dave Scadden came and presented him with an arrow in his mountain man sort of way. Dustin was enthralled and very impressed that Dave could hold fire. What a cool day for Dustin!

We went to Disneyland for Spring break. Some of our favorites...the DOLPHINS at Sea World, Toy Story Mania, San Diego Temple, and just good quality time with family!!

It has been a year since Meagan set this up for me and after I saw her cute book I decided that blogging is a great way for me to journal/scrapbook so here goes.
It is the end of April and we are in the thick of track season. Allyson, Karlee and Lynzi are running track right now.
Allyson is running for Weber and she is doing quite well. She has a goal of making it to state this year without being disqualified. We will keep our fingers crossed.
Karlee and Lynzi are running for Snowcrest and they are both doing good. Track is one sport that I love to watch. I love that it is so positive. Everyone is cheering for each other, there is no political crap that goes on with other sports.
We are the quite the running family. In May Brian, Karlee, Lynzi, Mitzi and Dustin are going to run in a mini Ragnar race. This will be my first race and who knows it may be my last so I thought I better document it.

The picture with Allyson is at the Simplot games. She was running the 2 mile race which is 16 times around the track. She lost her shoe on the 1st lap. She ran 15 laps with one shoe on and one shoe off. She is still trying to get her foot to heal. CRAZY!!
